A wild example here: If 50 million people do not bother to vote, for whatever reason and 10 million people took the trouble to turn out and vote for one of the three then the 50 million people will have to put up with 'what-ever' party gets in. If 50 million write on their ballot paper "None of the above" then that cannot be ignored. The system of governance needs to go and a new one put in place.
You do realize voter turn out in general elections in the UK is on average 34%? The winning party only needs 17%, to win. Thats 83%of the voting age population being dictated to how their life is run, the fault in the current system is voter apathy.

The fact that the global elitists (Joe Biden, Boris Johnson) had their climate group hug at Carbis Bay a few years ago should tell everyone who is behind Cornwall's problems. Reopen the tin mines. The China Clay is just about still alive and make sure that not a single penny of the tourism revenue does not leave Cornwall. It is heart breaking that people who were born there have to leave. That must stop. The best of luck to you David. I'm a Londoner myself but my heart I give to Cornwall. A beautiful land.
Unfortunately, our local council tax goes directly to the government and only a tiny bit is given back to the Council.

I once put myself forward as an independent council candidate, because I had a dispute with the council and wanted to annoy the chief executive. I did annoy her greatly, but I didn’t win. However, I did get to assist in counting the votes and I did not find anything nefarious; the spoiled ballots were counted, some of them were amusing but made no difference to the outcome.
I'm glad you agree they are counted, what we need is more spoilt papers than the leading party, now that's making a point. Must be bad for moral if told out of 100 votes you win with 12 as 82 were spoilt!!!
@@catherinesmith7068 I didn’t mention in my post when it took place; it was in 2001, the local elections took place over the same day as the general election, and was before Tony Blair committed his worst atrocities revealing his evil self. Labour won everything by quite a big margin.

Common Law, abolish legislative acts, write a constitution holding those in government responsible if they want the power they can take the jail sentence when they try to abuse it. No more pandemics, spraying of our skies, legalese entrapment, fake news, police officers propping up the lie. Everything must be open and honest and true or we will be back in the same mess no matter whom you vote for. They can start by stopping charging us for gas and electricity, which are free and God given..Find me a party that is willing to do the above and be jailed if the renege, and I will vote for them.

I haven't heard it yet but a direct democracy type system like the one in Switzerland, where frequent referenda are held, sounds far better than our current system.
A good book to read is One Vote Away, Saving The West, written by Neil Petrie.

they can't - every issue should be put to the country, with informed debate on both sides (or we just vote against whatever the rulers are pushing for, every time.)
it's a very simple change, but we are mentally and emotionally a long way from having the simplest system of 'do you want this?'
the people clearly have no say - let's get rid of that lie first - elections are the only input you have, and the winner has already been selected, though if there's an upset, that doesn't matter either.
and they are only once every five years. remind people they have not asked for, and in fact are opposed to, everything every government is doing.

The "Spoilt Ballot" party is the most powerful voice the public have access to ? Each "Spoilt Ballot" has to be counted and publicly declared in every seat being contested for in parliament : ) Use the only Public Voice you have VOTE "SPOILT BALLOT" : )
If you want your ballot to go into the same box and form part of the number reported as spoiled as if you were simply unable to complete one correctly, then go for it.

And a spoiled ballot isn't one cast for a candidate, it's reported as a spoiled ballot along with all other spoiled ballots howsoever spoiled. Have a look at Rule 47(5) of The Local Elections (Principal Areas) (England and Wales) Rules 2006 😀

If you ask five experts to tell you the best way to do something you will get a contradiction, for example one doctor will tell you that a glass of wine with dinner each day is good for you as it helps you relax whereas another doctor will tell you that it is bad for you as it leads to alcohol dependency.

We have an alliance. I support ADF Alliance for Democracy and Freedom, whose party leader is Dr Teck Khong, a retired doctor with 40 years experience. ADF have 10 candidates and Teck has reached out to other Independents and formed an alliance with those who were interested. They agreed not to stand against each other and to work together. Unfortunately, Reform did not turn up and are standing against other Independents including Teck. This tells me they are led by those who are in it for their own ego, not us! Teck is an amazing man with integrity and courage, stood against the jabs from the start and will work for the people not a party. This man should connect to Teck. His group together have 35 seats.
I see Reform are posting a candidate in north west leistershire which could well split the vote against Andrew Bridgen.
I am also a great supporter of independents, they will be held to account by the voter. Social housing is what we want and how these should be made is in factories where you can produce them far cheaper than these brick houses and installation is so much quicker.

Both partners working is one of the main driving forces of house price rises. The more a household earns, the more they can borrow, and the more they can borrow, the more they can bid for a house. Therefore houseprices rise and then both partners _have_ to work to buy a house.
The problem I see is the people they roll out in front of you have been selected. Have a parallel candidate thats a plumber ,electrician or an ordinary person write him in . This is a vicious cycle.

The manifesto to the people from "the alliance of independants" should be " We're coming on behalf of the people to remove and prosecute you crooks in power" and re-install TRUE PEOPLES COMMON LAW within this Nation.
I said yesterday, a candidate should start by publishing their CV, because we are their employer and we want to employ the best candidate to represent us in parliament. Contrary to some peoples belief, the role does not need to be highly paid because they just a proxy for the people they represent, who cannot all fit in parliament at once. They should not be decision makers.
CV are the most faked credential ever. We need accountability, if they lie we decide the punishment
You need Council houses again, not just properly affordable. And slow down the destruction of the rurality of our villages and town green spaces by this massed housing push. People need nature, wild spaces, and the whole ecosystem on all levels..we keep concreting it over at our peril, especially farmland. Cornwall Council seems to have gone mad. And every village needs at least twice hourly buses to access services, health appointments, etc. We need physical banks here, look at Helston now with none at all, and cash to retain independent choices. A lot of the issues you mentioned are more nuanced than said. For eg, some owner farmers I know are some of the most well off folk I know of, and enjoy various benefits others do not so not exactly suffering at all. Tenant farmers, very different and often have little security. There is so much more to things at face value but on the whole I'm with you. But Mr Laity, are you listening to ALL of us? Not just those that historically moan the loudest.
Its either independents or revolution. So, let's take ownership of their system legally. If you want a job doing properly....the time is NOW! ❤

Alot buying up property to rent ,we need to know where the money is coming from to buy all bank accounts and shares need going throught .
Do all MP's have to kiss the hand of royalties? That's one of the many things that put's me off the whole lot. Why not let the people have land so they can build their own ethical homes or live in a caravan. Apparently the council in Cornwall pay huge amounts of money to search for caravan living, sometimes using a helicopter. Money has been servery cut, resources for the venerable nearly non existent. I worked in the community for many years with our most vulnerable, children, homeless & mental health, I know how easy it would to put support in the community & would cost a fraction of what is spent on the constructions that go on down here. They have destroyed massive countryside for roads, tourist attractions & houses for the rich. I wonder if the council is paying for geoengineering. Hartlands, was a mine, a fortune spent on making it a tourist destination, in one of the poorest towns in Cornwall, now apparently it's going to be shut down to become a mine again. Pendeen, where I live, again, a fortune paid on the mine, now a tourist destination, were many are desperate for support, compassionate support. We had a piece of land closed off to us for a couple of years, now they are digging, making it a grave yard apparently, in what I would call prime land in this village. They will berry you for a price in the land but you can't live on it, ethically. I would like to get in touch with David, I've worked many years on an idea of how to offer support, I call it "Compassionate Communities", it would be great if I could put "Cornwall" in front of the title.

Re the mechanics of keeping the council tax from second homes etc, that is a brilliant but all council tax goes to central government.
Not a single penny of council tax goes to central government.
You're confusing council tax with business rates.
@@cornishhh Exactly. Councils collect business rates, pay it to central government and then a proportion is rebated back to them. CT is retained in full by the relevant local authority and then added to from central government funds.
There's a history to this "CT is paid to central government" thing on this channel though. It was a central plank of Vobes' "CT is illegal because it goes to central government where it is used to fund wars" He then attempted to "prove" that by asking people to put an HMRC sort-code which is used exclusively by HMRC to receive income tax, corporation tax, VAT etc into a sort-code checker and not being a sort-code ever given by any local authority as their destination bank for CT payments. It was one of the clumsiest and obvious attempts at deception imaginable and needless to say 99% of his viewers fell for it hook, line and sinker.
