It's always a good idea to do all the tasks needed to get outdoors and enjoy camping. Towing was always something that I was scared to do too. But I am a equestrian so I had to get over that to go places with my horses. Now my husband has me back up the trailers when needed. Makes you appreciate what each other does. Good team work.
Another great video. As a solo woman CAMPER in her 70s, a teardrop is the perfect camper. You can set up as much or little as you want and a warm dry safe comfortable bed is quickly available. This was really a good one!
I really enjoyed tthis episode. The role reversal is just good ol' fashioned good safety practice. And good on ya for helping that guy out; never hurts to do a solid for a stranger that's in a bind.
Great spot and fantastic job helping that guy out. The role reversal is great. You can see something done a bunch of times but doing it for yourself the first time cooks the knowledge in.
Great job on the winch rescue. I do that more times than I can count at Ocean Shores it seems. Last trip a large van full of people was stuck up to the fenders and the tide was coming in. They were unloading all their gear trying to reduce the weight but it wasn't working. By the time I helped get them out, the water was maybe 5 or 6' from their van. Good karma always comes back around. Plus it always makes you feel good when you can help somebody out of a jam.
This is an awesome video. My wife turned to me and said, "You drive, you set up the trailer, you cook, you, you, you. I don't do squat." Bwhahah. I have been trying to get her to learn how to tow for quite a while, just in case something happens and I can not drive. Another great video from you two.
Way to go, Emily! Confidence in the great outdoors carries over into so many other areas in life. I’m just back from a girls trip in my Aliner. It was quite the challenge to get into the hilly area and level out on slopey ground. I even had to lift the trailer a little to contend with pressure on the hitch. Felt great to do it by myself and I’m ready to keep going. Gorgeous spot you made it to. Also thinking about going back to a teardrop and love your rig. Hope to see you out there some time!
My husband tells me often I need to drive our Jeep and teardrop off road to get practice. I’m sure when he watches this video later it’s going to prompt him to say it. Again!🤣 But I do agree, it’s good to know how to do every aspect of pulling the teardrop and setting up camp. I definitely felt Emily’s anxiety going over the rocks because I know that’s how I’d feel 😁 And good on ya for helping that guy out! 👏👏👏
Great content!! You guys are an awesome team. Love the role reversal, practical and enlightening. Who enjoyed that more? Matt or Emily? An exercise that can heighten appreciation for what each of you do for each other every trip. Plus, as you said in the video, having Emily not only hone her skills driving, towing and picking lines through obstacles but building confidence in her abilities so she could literally do it all if she had to. I think she showed that she is totally capable, she did great. Well done! Would love to meet up with you two if I can get up that way, you could show me all the hot spots. 👍🤠
One of your best! The anxiousness in Emily's face clearly showed. That dinner, Matt...Matt...Matt..Matt...Matt, you need to build those skills for your the sake of your bride 😲. You made up for it at breakfast, though. Cheers!
Another fine adventure. And the easy way is rarely the fun way. Well done little lady on getting back there and set up. Really appreciate how you guys leave places better than you found them
We laughed throughout this episode! Your jeep is ridiculous! Nope - not backing out - and then there was a road that went right to the campground - lol! 😂
this is a riot, because I'm usually the one that does all the things, because I go without my husband a lot. I'm usually called the campsite mom and end up helping others that don't have as much experience. Plus, when you help out, the best part is payment in food and beer and great company.
Great idea in reserving your normal duties, always good to know each other's roles. Great job on helping out the stranded vehicle. Great video and content, thanks for sharing your adventures, safe travels. Cheers 🍻
Nice video guys and Emily you rocked it, and with a stick shift!! Would love to check that place out sometime. Great job on getting that guy out of the mud even while he spun his tires LOL.😆
Pro tip - when your winching out a larger/heavier vehicle than your own, chock your own tires so you don't get pulled in. If you don't have chocks or in an extreme situation you can also dig trenche3s in front of your tires and drop your rig into the trenches and pile the dirt/sand in front of your tires. You can also use a snatch-block and run your cable back to your own rig - this doubles your pulling power.
I rarely comment on any videos (shortcoming of mine) but that was an incredibly entertaining video! I’ve watched many of your videos, and all of them are entertaining but that was great! You guys are great people and an even better couple. Love watching your content.
@@WheresWiseman It's local to Thunder Bay, Ontario, but they ship all over North America. If you do a search for Heartbeat Hot Sauce you will see their website.
@@WheresWiseman it's made locally here in Thunder Bay by Heartbeat Hot Sauce company. They do have a website were you can order so many different flavors! Our personal fav is the Camp Sauce. We just bought a Dill Pickle one today. Can't wait to try that one out!
As I drive my 40' long (feels like) JT through these types of spots I miss my 2D TJ! Also have a 22' lifted camper but I stick to just off fireroads mostly and occasionally I just load up the RTT to get more remote! okay back to the video! :)
Always good having her be able to drive out. A friend of mine broke his collar bone last weekend and his GF can’t drive stick (yet)…. Ended up driving 2 hours out to drive his jeep home for him 🤣
@@WheresWiseman yeah, it sucks for sure. Worst part is, he literally bought that Jeep that morning too… he broke it in 3 places and has to have surgery and can’t drive for 6-8 weeks now. But he can still shop for Jeep mods at least 🤣
Have you ever tried to precook some of your meal especially the meat and then just warm it up at camp. I have been trying this with my week long trips and it has been working well.
We have and should probably do that more! Especially for quick trips when we don't have a ton of time 👌🏻 Brought homemade chowder a few trips ago and man did it hit the spot!
@@WheresWiseman Even doing some of the prep at home, cutting up vegetables and placing them into freezer bags saves time and is more convenient. We have primarily back country camped with a tent, and have come up with some good solutions, even making omelets sous vide style in a Jetboil with onions and peppers. Soups can be frozen into cubes and then placed into freezer bags, this way you don't need a can opener, and have less cleanup and mess to deal with. It can also help with increasing the amount of 'ice' in a cooler if car camping.
I just subscribed great video. I noticed you have a local to me Timberleaf trailer.I'm curious of your thoughts on it as I'm currently in the market for a teardrop/sqauredrop trailer. Pros cons of the trailer etc. Thanks again for the video.
Thank you! And thanks for joining us 👍🏻 We love our trailer mainly because of build quality, weight, skylight, off road package. Only thing we didn't like on the Pika, is limited storage inside, but it works for us 🤘🏻

Great meeting you two as well!!! See ya down the trail! 🤘🏻

Thank you! 😊 - She sure did!!

Thanks!! Empty lake bed 👍🏻

Glad it was helpful!
A simple idea and you guys can still make it fun and funny to watch. Love ur channel u guys are great.

Glad that you are enjoying the Heartbeat Camp Sauce, it's our favorite pick, though the pineapple and blueberry habenero are pretty good too.

Yeah, those are tough nights. Especially when it doesn't calm down at dusk
how did it feel being the passenger princess?
😂 relaxing, amazing lol she did great 🤘🏻
@@WheresWiseman she did! I can't get my wife to pull ours to save my life 😅
Emily did better than Matt at the technical driving.
Hahaha!!! 💯%!
Be careful Matt. If you show her all your tricks we might start seeing you less and less on these videos
Ha!! 😳 Guess I'll just have to start working on some new tricks! 😏
