I'm still working on the kitchen's mini makeover so excuse the missing backsplash 😂. I hope you are having a great week! I am so grateful you are here!!🙏
I try to deal with my veggies on shopping day or the next day & prep them as much as I can. When I fail to do it, I sadly end up having to toss them out because they go bad. You just have the most helpful hints & recommendations, thank you. Soup looked amazing & that cabbage dish is one of your's that I make quite often, so good!
I enjoyed this video very much. Seeing the groceries you purchased and the recipes you made gave me some ideas of foods to try for variety, as I tend to repeat meals.
So helpful, thank you! You are helping me get where I want to be with healthy but still easy food prepping. I sometimes think I don’t want to chop whatever up too early, cause it won’t be as good… but that thinking only backfires for me. Even if it is not as fresh or crisp if it’s done days ahead- it would still be in the fridge, easy for me to use at the moment, rather than the decision to not use it at all.! Interested how you like that slow cooker. I was also eyeballing the 360 cookware. I have only been using a pot on the stove but I know a slow cooker would be a great tool to invest in. Thank you for all you do, you are a great inspiration and resource ❤
I am so happy for you!! That’s great! I can relate to the chopping things ahead of time much…I used to never but I’d rather eat something chopped yesterday than forget and let it mold.😅 The slow cooker is exactly what I was hoping for! You can sauté things in it first and then slow cook it and it does a really good job like a crock pot vs my instant pot I always feel like it just boils everything?!
I saw you have an instant pot and you love yoghurt, so wanted to share this. Apologies if this has been discussed here before but I'm loving how EASY it is to make excellent yoghurt with two ingredients and instant pot. Pour a full jug of ultrafiltered milk* (52oz +/-; brands I use in Canada are FairLife and Joyya) in very clean pot, whisk in 2 TBSP active unsweetened plain organic yoghurt. Hit the YOGHURT option and set for 8 or more hours (I use 11.5 hrs to give it a bit more sour flavour). Cover with just a plate or regular pot lid (it's not being pressure cooked and the plastic ring on insta lid can transfer smells). Set at medium heat and next day you have beautiful yoghurt. *Ultrafiltered milk has already been boiled so that is why this method works so well.
Your lentil soup looks so good. I also like to make your cabbage kale and quinua salad. Very healthy. You are such a caring mom for your kids. God bless you.
Great ideas, thank you! I’d be interested to know the total of your grocery bill. Its getting crazy expensive, especially if you’re trying to buy healthy, whole foods!
I love your channel. You are such an inspiration to good/better health and also kitchen organization. Question regarding the herbs you placed in a jar of water. Do you store them in the refrigerator or on the counter top?
Have you ever talked about the benefits of a high tunnel for you have been? I googled the benefits in general, but I am curious about what you have noticed in your personal experience.😊
Hi Elizabeth, I’m trying to move away from buying cookies, crackers, etc and buy more ingredients to make them myself. I’m Gluten and Diary Free so it’s taking awhile to find recipes and ingredients, but it’s coming along slowly. I also can’t eat spicy or acidic foods. I love your inspiring videos.
It’s fantastic so far! I do wish it had the locks on the lid for transporting, but I feel like I’ll be using it multiple times per week from here on out. I love having one that can sauté first and then slow cook just like a crockpot!! I feel like my instant pot just boils things and doesn’t quite slow cook like slow cookers do. 💛
Will do! I'm still researching it, but it claims to be PFAS / PFOA -Free while other kinds don't say that they are PFAS-free (forever chemicals). Many have the California Proposition 65 warning which means they have heavy metals too. It's hard to know, so I do what I can! Some slow cookers out there are 100% stainless steel, but they are also close to $500. 😅💚
I do! It's a slow cooker version 🧡 healthyelizabeth.com/homemade-apple-cider-in-the-crock-pot/ and I made it in this video:ruclips.net/video/vgL0HztO9Ig/видео.html
That is so sweet of you to remember us, thank you! We are blessed to be perfectly fine where we are in NC. We are only a few hours from Ashville, NC, so it could have turned out very differently.🙏 ❤️
@@healthyelizabeth I have zero issues with your budget. My spouse and I eat the same way, pasture raised chicken, eggs, farmer's market produce. We don't drink any alcohol so I'm 100 percent fine spending money on high quality groceries.
Hi Elizabeth, I made your amazing creamy poblano chicken enchiladas and now I can't find my recipe I had printed or the video you made them in. Can you please tell me which video they were in?? My husband is raving about them but I can't find it and he wants me to make them again.
Yes actually! Restricting sodium to fewer than 2.3 grams per day has been linked to higher rates of heart attack and stoke and the sweet spot is more like 5grams per day for optimal health. Functional doctors have done so much research on this 💚☺️
@@healthyelizabeth 💯 Hubby and I went on a low sodium diet and when he was hospitalized for something else he ended up having to have sodium (forget the other name) shots because his salt levels were too low. Apparently we have been misled re salt just like other foods, and it's a shame. That's why I enjoy your videos because they are helpful, clear, and easy to follow and also inspire.

Vegetable lentil soup is a favorite of mine. I portion it out and freeze it. Its a game changer
Yes!! I couldn’t agree more.
I love your videos Elizabeth! It’s just my husband and I but I like to try cooking healthier meals! Thank you for the inspiration!! ❤️

I love those little trays for freezing soups/broths. I just orders some last week and have put them to good use!!
Yes!! I'll have to do soup next! I can't believe I haven't been using them till now! They are sooo convenient and keep us from wasting any broth.
Loved this type of video! Thank you! I always like to see what recipes you’re making too.
That's helpful to know! Thanks so much 💛
Thank you very much for sharing this video! 🙏

It is 😅 I try not to spend any more than $300 per week. It’s a struggle for us all right now! I’m glad you enjoyed 💛
Love that big pot of lentil stew! I grew up on that 🤍
That's the best! I bet my kids will say the same one day too. 💛
My menu this week is ground chicken burger bowls with sweet potatoes, quiche, and sourdough pizza!
That sounds perfect! 😋 How funny, I was just thinking to myself this morning how I want to make a chicken burger recipe. 💚

Very efficient meal prep. Thank you
I hope it helps!
I love this video, thank you for it.

Your cooking looks delicious. I will recommend Sally k norton book about oxalates on how to remove the antinutrients.
Thank you!

@@healthyelizabeth thanks! Ya, I found the same problem with my instant pot. Looking forward to more recipes this fall in the slow cooker from you!
Hi! @healthyelizabeth - can you talk about WHY greenpan slow cooker is healthier than crockpot? Just curious and appreciate it. Thanks! sp

@healthyelizabeth so glad to hear that!! Was also worried for you and your family.
How much is your grocery budget? If you don’t mind me asking.
In all transparency, usually between $275 and $300 a week! We cut corners in other areas of life so we can buy what we value more.

How do you prevent your drying rack from getting moldy? I have the same one and it's not lasting.
Good question! I actually put it on the top rack in the dishwasher every week and I’ve never seen any mold on it.
@@healthyelizabeth Wow never would have thought thank you! I love your videos so much🥰 very kind of you to respond.
Thank you very much! Absolutely!
Wait , one of those LMT electrolyte packets is 1,000 mg of sodium !?! Did I catch that correctly?
