I’m just heading off those at the pass thinking this lens is the same as the Nikon 28-75mm F2.8 lens. It isn’t. As mentioned in the video the Nikon 28-75mm F2.8 is modelled on the first generation Tamron 28-75mm RXD F2.8 Sony E mount lens. This Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 VXD G2 lens has a number of improvements including faster and better focusing and much better optical performance. For a full list of improvements check out this link 🤙📸 tamron.com.au/a063-g2-performance/
Wish this lens would have been out when I bought the 24-120. I had this on my Sony cameras and it was easily my favorite lens. I’m hoping this means they are going to release the 70-180 G2 with VC as well.
I have Z24-120 and still bought this Tamron. And while I love Z24-120, I find this Tamron to have better image quality. Nicer rendering, better pop out and better micro contrast. Distortions easier to correct in LR. In real life sharpness is comparable. I paired it with Z17-28 f2.8. Great combo.
Excellent review Adrian, I kind of like this lens a lot. I currently have the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 for my D850 and I Love it. I find it interesting that you said this lens is light. The F mount version that I have is pretty heavy. BTW, again congratulations that companies like Tamron are reaching out to you to review their products. shows that you are making a difference!
Thanks for watching my friend. Yes this lens is so light. It is a testament to the Tamron crew who produced this. Hope you have an awesome week ahead cheers 🍻 🙏
Hi Adrian, a great video, buddy! Wow, the minimum focus distance is absolutely crazy. And also great how Tamron improved on focus speed. I like all the sample shots you took. Especially the flower shots in the very beginning are so awesome 🙂 Thank you for the video and have a nice Easter weekend, Christian
Thank you for watching Christian. It is a very special little lens. Definitely one I would have in my collection. Hope you have an enjoyable Easter weekend buddy cheers 🍻 🙏

Great review and samples on this lens Adrian, many thanks for sharing the info. Have a great weekend and Happy Easter.
Thanks for an informative review. It sounds like a great lens. However, as an owner of the Z 24-120mm, I would miss the extra focal lengths in both directions. i don't really have a need for f2.8.. Cheers.
Hello Adrian great review. Looks like this lens will replace a lot of other heavier lens’s in my opinion. With that 2.8 aperture it will work in all types of low light conditions and for that price makes it all worthwhile. Tamron has come a long way. Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend my friend. 📸🙏🏼
Hi Adrian, thank you for this great review! I am hesitating between the Nikon 24-120 f/4 S and this one. Tough choice… I currently have the 26mm f/2.8 and the 40mm f/2 but I really want to replace these ones by one single versatile zoom for travel and street photography.
Hello Adrian, I like your update. If I knew about the lens before I purchase my last lens in March, I might had waited to check it out. I am going to keep what I just purchase.
What I really like about your updates and review, there are done on older versions on Z camera. I was watching another review of this lens and they also use the Z8 or Z9, is different from Z6.
I'm going to look for more reviews of this lens but it seems that you summarize this beautifully. We found the missing link between the heavy, expensive but excellent Nikon Z 24-70mm f2.8 and the lighter, less expensive but not so good in the corners Nikon Z 28-75mm f2.8. I have the Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8, I like it but to travel and having it in my hand all day to be ready to shoot, it is hard... This Tamron is very tempting and dividing the weight with another lens with longer focal range (alternating them), starts to make sense to me. Great video, by the way 🙂
Great review, thanks! This lens is less than 2 ounces heavier than the Nikon 24-70 f4 S lens. However, it’s definitely better in low light than the Nikon lens, as it’s a stop brighter. I’m planning on buying it!
Eye detect on Yoda! Love it. Also the mushroom shot stands out for me - look at how close you were! Sounds like a brilliant lens for the price, great run down.

This is the perfect blend of cost-weight-look that I have been waiting for! Can't wait to get my 🇨🇦-ian hands on this! 🤩🔥

I'm sure down the track we'll see a 70-180 G2 for the Z mount. I will be making another video comparing to the Z 24-120mm, stay tuned.

Great lens! Incredible colors too!
Thanks for watching. That’s true, I should have mentioned the great colors this lens produces too. Enjoy your weekend 🙏

Thanks for watching. Yes, it definitely gives an alternative to the other 2 Nikon lenses. The corners on this lens are impressive by the way 🙏
@@adrianalfordphotography So I heard… Seems to make it more close to the 24-70 f2.8…
Excellent review just in time for me. I need something that compliments my 70-200mm f2.8 Z lens. This and the 180 600mm z lens as well.
Great review, thanks! This lens is less than 2 ounces heavier than the Nikon 24-70 f4 S lens. However, it’s definitely better in low light than the Nikon lens, as it’s a stop brighter. I’m planning on buying it!

Very glad to see Nikon allow Tamron to release their best quality version in Z mount. And yeah, i also value that short MFD.
Thank you for watching 🙏
Great video 👌
Thanks for watching 🙏
Looks incredible man! Great review, how did you do that effect at the end with the lenses?
Glad you enjoyed the review. Magic of ending at the end there ;) Cheers for watching 🙏
I stick to my old Tamron 24-70 F2.8 G2 and use FTZ adapter. 😁
I'll stick with the new one.

Many thanks for watching. Great lens, so light in weight too. Have a great weekend cheers 🙏
