I know I'm a year late to this party, so I understand that probably Dave won't see this. Dave: there is no "off" for the mid control. When the Mid knob is at noon, it is neither boosting nor cutting, however the other controls are still shaping the general EQ curve of the pedal. It was hard to make out the settings you were using, due to those dinky little white dots on the giant knobs, but it looked like you had the unit set to give a massive boost to a steep curve in the low-mids. Otherwise, thanks for featuring this unit. I love mine, used as a "dirty channel" going into a power-amp. I switch between this one for dirty sounds, and an AMT V-1 for my cleaner sounds. For someone who's not preoccupied with using tube (valve) only gear, I highly recommend checking out using outboard pre-amps and an SS power amp. The whole rig fits onto the pedal board (sans cabinet), and I can haul my rig in one trip. Like you, I don't notice enough of a difference in sound to offset the convenience and price difference.
I use mine in a similar way. For my cleans, I use a Joyo American Sound for Fender cleans...30 bucks and I get Fender in a box. But this pedal is a monster. I love it.
Dave Simpson you would make Hendrix so proud.....you are clearly influenced by Hendrix but your chops are so sharp that you have your own style...if Hendrix was here he would thumbs you up..
I just got one. Pretty sure I could knock birds out of the sky with its tone. The clean is a little harder to get to...I'm still getting used to it. I got a Joyo American Sound for Fenderish cleans. I love this pedal...I have a 2001 Gibson Les Paul Standard and a 2003 Gibson Les Paul Special.
That's one cool demo! Thanks a lot ... really fun to watch. The Bangeetar is a very nice blues/rock tool ... great sounds ... great playing (as always (;-)) The "metal handle" shouldn't be a problem. If you plan to use it right at your amp there is no danger to "miss-step" ... so just unscrew it!
Personally i preferred the CR120 as it was more to my tastes but the Bax is a monster. I would personally run it into the front end if i were to use it. Thank you for watching. :)
Dave, I have a dumb question that I can't seem to get a direct answer in the review/tutorial videos of this pedal: If you run the Bax Bangeetar through the FX Loop, it runs as a Pre-Amp(correct?) and will override the Pre Amp controls of your existing amplifier. Let's say I owned a CR 120 like yourself, would that be the case? Or will it co-work with the Pre Amp of the CR-120? Thanks!
That would work but i wouldn't recommend it. I would always run this pedal into the front end of the map It sounds better and reacts to the amp better. :)

+Guitar Stu :) Maybe one day. :)
don't suppose you could do a video on the uses of EQ pedals? i'd like to see how you use them! thanks :)
+Bad Motivator I shall try. I'll have to see if anyone has one and is willing to lend me it though. :)
Hi Dave. Is the boost only boosting the pedal or can it boost an other amp channel without the pedal being engaged? Merci Olivier
If i remember correctly it can be used alone as an amp booster. :)
Hello Dave and thank you for your quick answer and excellent reviews. Olivier.
How does the gain compare to the cr120? Could I just throw an eq in the fx loop and get the same versatility?
Personally i preferred the CR120 as it was more to my tastes but the Bax is a monster. I would personally run it into the front end if i were to use it. Thank you for watching. :)
Thanks Dave! Your "feel" is truly inspiring!
