Agree with everything you said, however I wish you went more in depth with how important armour economy is. Once the contested health bug is patched, many people will not understand how to play the game and that it's armour based, not health based.
All the health bar represents is how much time you have to gain armour, or how much time you have to hack and slash (you will always lose health hacking and slashing).
Also the most efficient use of health packs is to store 2, then when you die and get ressurected, you start at 50%. Use the 2 packs, now you're at 100% and your mortal wound is healed giving you an extra life.
Trying to keep it concise while offering as much info as possible, without making it too technical. Thank you for your feedback, Battle-Brother. We are all tooling for The Emperor's Grace.
That health pack tip is useless at difficulties 3 and 4. You do not start at 50% health, and 2 health packs will not heal you back to 100%,

Good video man, pretty accurate. You touch on the Melta being broken at the moment, but its not just down to contested health overheal, it also impacts other classes very negatively. Particularly in the case of the Assault class, they're extremely reliant on parrying and gunstrikes to drop elites, which they can do at an extremely rapid pace once fully set up, and due to how the Melta will essentially stagger elites out of parry cycles incredibly easily, that f*cks the class over significantly as they rely mostly on gunstrikes for their survivability. The Melta does'nt just need the contested HP bug fixed, it needs to not be actively detrimental to other teammates.
Super-niche comment, and I totally agree. Favouring so other people can see it as well.
If the melta can’t stagger enemies it’ll be far worse of a weapon. We already have weak stagger on most guns.
This is where proper co-op comes into play.
@@J.B.1982 It would'nt though, it would still evaporate all the trash, which is what it should be doing, its a clearance gun. Stuff that staggers enemies out of parry loops so easily is quite literally harmful to other classes. In a pre-made, sure you can work around it, in pugs? Fat chance my dude.
I agree with this. Use it for trash CC, and for that only. Then the rest of the gear can shine and it will not cause stagger overlap.

Its a game meant to be played aggressively and meant to be played using "combos" and sticking to your roll and helping your team out. If you're a lone wolf player then you're a hinderance

Combat is VASTLY improved, many more systems work together to produce a more interesting gameplay loop.

I'm pretty sure at this point most people figured out how the game was supposed to be played. My problem is that the over-reliance on (perfect) parries into quick shots to keep the armor up and the fact that most of the time you cannot use your longer melee strings due to the extreme damage the smaller horde monsters dish out just kills all the fun for me. If somebody is not into parrying 90% of the time than this game won't be fun for them. And having to parry all the time does not deliver the Space Marine power-fantasy.
Playing on Ruthless during the streams every other day, it's very possible to mix it up and create your own approach. You have to go into a reactive defense often, that is true, but you can also be very proactive. I think the system, albeit a bit glitchy at times, is really good.

I like heavy. I can only knock back, not melee lol.
Well, the Melee is good at pushing away the small stuff... Opens them up for Gun Strikes. Quite slow though, so you have to pace yourself.
I’m still unable to make it work. I got a fencing weapon but my contested health always vanishes way before there’s any enemies to execute, and I know you can block a normal gaunt attack and knock the crowd back but 7 more from a different crowd always dive in and hit you before your parry animation is finished…while you’re getting shot to shit by the mini gaunts. I can fight everything else but the packs of little shits are just too much and the bigger dudes too bullet sponge for me to execute to auto kill the lot.
It's all about getting into a rhythm. Trust me, after countless runs of every Mission on Ruthless, I can attest to the fact that there is a fine balance to be found here.

I make a point of not using the Melta. Relying on a bugged weapon will not make you better at the game. Learn to parry and to set up gunstrikes
Agreed. Here, however, I am suggesting a means for people who cannot hang to get better at the game. It's gonna be fixed anyway, it's a long running joke how glitched it is.
If you are playing assault focus on dodging rather than parry. Your welcome.

Same with bulwark to be honest. If there is a shield parry, I haven't been able to pull it off. Specially against non-minoris enemies.
Double-tap Parry. It's currently glitched and messy to pull off, but this works every time.
I can't play this game bro. It looks great, but I literally can't play it. It takes me over a half hour to join a game. And if I do join, there's a very high likelihood that someone is playing the class I want to level up. I can't do it bro. Just really frustrating. Going to put it down for the time being. Let me know when they fix the match-making.

All consoles (except the Switch) and PC. Cross-Play, Cross-Save. 🫡
Not that hard once you learnt these main points:
1. Use the OP Melta
2. Never hit the melee attack button
3. Only use dodge and parry
Thats it. Very boring gameplay can't see myself get past a hundred hour. Or maybe just not for me.
The gun will be recalibrated, it's not working as intended. If that is the way you approach the game, ofc you'll get bored. There is something about today's users and abusing broken stuff. You are depriving yourselves of the enjoyment of learning the game just to spam what is "meta". It's boredom of your own making.
@@MistaFiOth Melta is not the issue for me. I don't even use it, I play sniper class. Its the melee combat only consist of dodging and parrying making it boring to me.
It's probably the most in-depth system we've seen in a hybrid game like this. What else would you have it include?
@@hkl4dplayer Melee consists of using your brain. You need to constantly analyze your surrounding and make a decision if you need to parry, dodge, light attack, heavy attack, crowd control attack, or get the hell out of the mess you led yourself into. You need to use both range and melee in this game. I've maxed Vanguard with a knife and Instigator Bolt Rifle, delibaratelly avoiding melta, cleared all missions on Ruthless. I did both melee and shoting. But to each his own, maybe this game is not for you.
