Looks like I’m going to have to do this. Been looking for the leak forever. It is coming from the other side. Thanks for posting! Never would have thought of the cooler.
Thanks for the comment! Good luck, let me know how it goes.
My F 150 has a slow leak like that also. Now I can give it a go. Thanks for sharing your fix, much appreciated! 👍👌
No problem! I’m just happy to not have fluid everywhere.
I just replaced my A/C condenser in my F150 because it had a leak. To my surprise the two top hoses on the drivers side had nothing to do with the A/C....it was power steering fluid. The freaking A/C condensor’s top two rungs are the radiator for the power steering fluid.
These really are great trucks. 300k on my 07 runs like a clock
That’s awesome!!! Thanks for sharing that!!
Saved me a ton of trouble. Thank you
Thanks for the support!
Dodge A/C condensers are the same way except it's not the power steering cooler, it's the transmission cooler.
Good to know, thanks!
Bulb replacement suggestion. Beamtech led on amazon. H13 led direct replacement works awesome. I put them on ours and it makes a huge difference and they are about same cost as a standard headlight bulb
Thanks for this video gonna check to see if mime is leaking there just had to put in alot of fluid and pump was really loud with no visible leaks
Ill def take a look at those bulbs. thanks for the comment!
I just got a quote of 2500 to rectify this issue. Do you think this is a fair price. I’m not as mechanical inclined as you 😂
lol uhhhh $60 vs $2500….. I would try and find someone that can help and either do the bypass like this or just replace the whole radiator.
Did your AC ever have any issues when the power steering fluid leaked? Since the AC and power steering condenser are together? I just started having AC issues but have had dripping Power steering and it is from condeser.
Never had any issues with the ac. Hopefully you can just replace the combo and recharge the ac.
did the OBD scanner show any errors? I found that U3000-04 can be power steering module problem
Mine did not have any errors, just leaked everywhere
I need to see how to replace the lines
Did you block the original "ports" where the lines entered the original faulty cooler/condenser? If so what did you use. How's the repair holding up? Thanks for the video!!!
Yes I had to plug them because they continued to leak fluid, even after trying to flush them with brake cleaner. Repair is good, had a small leak from a hose that wasn’t fully tightened down
@2:25 That's what she said!
Exactly right!! Multiple measurements always helps lol
@The Shop World Wide This info saved me money and time. Thank you.
How has this repair held up? I’ve got an 09 I’m pretty sure is doing the same thing.
Over a year, It worked flawless after the repair.
@@TheShopWorldWide thanks for the report!
@@backtolife208 no problem!
What cooler did you use for replacement? Part number or brand If you have it plz
This is the kit I used ( amzn.to/3m91Ro6 ). In every video I make I have the products listed in the description. Thanks for the comment.
Wait....are you telling me that the power steering system needs a cooler? I’ve never heard of such a thing.
Technically from other vehicles I’ve dealt with, it shouldn’t. But I just went along with what was in place and replaced the oem one with the aftermarket trans cooler.
I have watched alot of videos and looked long and hard at ours I am working on and yes it is silly but ford definitely had me scratching my head at why they would do such a thing 🤣
hey my power steering radiator hose disconnects every so often do you think i need to change the radiator
I would try and replace the hose first, technically you don’t need the cooler, it just helps with ps temps a little.
@@TheShopWorldWide It's the radiator for the power steering fluid. We've already changed the hose. It's new and it comes off every once in a while, but it's not covered up.
I would either loop the hoses and stop using the radiator cooler, or I would replace the whole assembly with a new or used one.
@@TheShopWorldWide ok
Did this install car idled fine went to pull out the drive and the car stalled??????? What did I do??
Did it stall when you were turning or just moving?
Do you have the brand and part number for the cooler you used. Thanks for sharing
What size hose was in the aftermarket cooler 3/8” hose or 5/16” ?
It would have been helpful to leave the video in Real rime instead of the porn music ;). You are the only one to show the break down on RUclips. Can you show the whole video in real time?
This project took about an hour or more of dealing with hiccups through out the fix. I doubt you would watch an hour long video for just a few key points/ fixes. But I am looking into making better content that’s easier to follow and not just jet through the “meat and potatoes”…. I will be doing more of a break down on the expedition in the future so keep a look out. Is there anything in particular you’re looking for?
@@TheShopWorldWide I'm doing my radiator and your vid helped out so much. THANKS.
@@btqy that’s why I video myself, so people don’t do what I normally do and fiddle around, possibly breaking stuff or installing stuff wrong.
lot of incorrect procedure. but ya good job
Sometimes it happens that way.......
