    I work at a retail store, and we have to replace (on average) 3/6 Vizio displays due to backlight zones dying, lines, and discoloration over time. They look great, but either buy a 3 year extension on the warranty, or spend an extra couple hundred and get a quality TV from Sony like the 900 series.

      What is it with these LED strips nowadays, backlight zone strips just fail all over the market. Guess they do that to sell more shit, most users run to store when they see black shit!!!!!!! You people need to sell!, get their money!
      I got many to work again, just installing cheap white (non brand $5 whoite strips) on 5050 compatible connectors they all use there, 5 minute repair jobs, getting many cheap and free 4k panels this way!
      All brands, especially the Samsung models, they sold so many of them!

      They explained it quite well in the wan show, at the beginning of every year all advertisers kinda disappear, so they have already had quite a few non sponsored videos, while lmg is still a company that needs to bring in planned amount of revenue to pay everyone their share. I've been having on an LG C7 OLED for months and have never seen image retention let alone permanent burn in. As long as you let it run static image compensation cycles at normal intervals (every 4 or so hours) and have the pixel screen shift function active you'll be fine.
    This OLED issue is perpetuated all the time and only crops up in extreme use cases.

      I don't know if you're joking but it likely was capable of 60hz. No display on the market is actually capable of true 600hz afaik. What they are referring to is interpolation, which fakes higher refresh rate and as Linus said creates input lag.
      edit: I guess they are referring to how a plasma creates the image, so I technically not interpolation, but also not capable of displaying 600 independent pictures. It instead shows a dark frame 10 times which makes one light frame, and it therefore shows 600 pictures but is only showing 60 unique frames hence 600hz..... so marketing bs

      But most of them suck with input lags... does not really help for gaming... a proper gaming monitor has 4ms input lag (for shooters and racing sims, that counts!). Btw. I physically measure my monitors -> my Samsung 65 inch 7500 series does 22ms input lag in gaming mode (that's not enough for competitive sim racing), the Samsung C49HG90 4-5ms.

      Agreed. I got a 55" X900E last year that can do up to 1440p/120hz/HDR (I use 1080p though as scaling wise it looks best and my GTX 1060 can't do 100+ fps in many games at 1440p). According to rtings, the input lag is like 16.9ms at 120Hz, which is pretty dang good. Not really perceptible unless you're a serious e-sports gamer, and/or some kind of air force pilot. For most people, sacrificing barely noticeable input lag for much better picture quality and HDR should be the wiser option.

      Came in here to say this. Linus once shat on OLED tvs for having too much input lag (several years back when they were 27-35ms instead of 14ms or less) and says 40ms is 'imperceptible'?? Either the method he's using to measure is way off (possible), he's using the wrong input (more likely), or the method measures display input lag plus controller input lag or something else added in.
      Not sure but he should explain these numbers when throwing them out there because of how wrong they sound.

      BromoDragoonFly On oled phones there is burn in, no doubt. Yes it takes a long time but there will be burn in. Oled Tv's, especially the new ones won't get burn in's. Lg, Sony and all the other brands know about this problem and work hard on solving it. We have 2 oled tv's from lg and even the old one has no burn in. The only problem with them is the vertical banding.

    So many people still think all TV's have like 40-100ms input lag in game mode @ 4K, while there's so many panels with native input lag numbers as low as 6-10 ms right now. Usually even the 1080p 60hz mode (in game mode) doesn't give more than 15-20 ms these days. Huge difference.

    I was using 120hz at 1080 on my 60'' M series for over a year until Vizio released a firmware update around the same time these new ones were coming out that made 120hz useless because after the latest update the screen will randomly flash black for a second making impossible to game or not be annoyed. Many users from AVR forums have complained directly to Vizio about the issue with no response. It is apparent they did it on purpose to try to get us to upgrade $$$ Never buying another Vizio ever.

      Same crap for me 1080p@120hz blinks for me too since the 1.5.6 update on my M60-C3, was perfectly fine before. Vizio has the worst service ever, they look into it but that's about as far as it goes, they never get back to you. Ha I think youre right they seem to be trying to make their old sets obsolete and force upgrade.

      @TheTigerBlitz 6 лет назад +2

      Same here. 120hz was awesome when it worked. Warning to those about buying a Vizio....don't. Their handling of the firmware update which essentially killed 120hz/1080p on the Vizio M tv's....intentional or not...is unacceptable. I complained twice to them with no luck. I would have gladly settled for a way to just revert to a previous firmware where 120hz/1080p worked fine.

    The 2017 OLEDs take 120hz 1080p input as well, and seem like a far better thing to choose for this kind of test due to infinitely better response time. Not sure why you'd want a Vizio LCD for this... Many, many people game on OLEDs. It's deceptive to peddle the 'worry about burn-in' narrative.

    • @BNOVA
      @BNOVA 6 лет назад +1

    • @larrygall5831

      @ BNOVA: Yes, you can buy two or even three TVs that burn in for the price of one that doesn't. Just select "auto-hide taskbar" and hide your icons when not using them and you're fine. For myself, I watch TV on my 4k when I'm not gaming, and use a 32" 1080p TV for a monitor. I use a black background on the 4k too. Not a real world problem if you use it like this, and won't have to replace the tv because of burn in.
      Besides, it's going to last at least 3 years, and by that time you might want something better.. That cheap TV looks pretty damn good in the long run as well as the short term.

      Nowadays I don't consider any screen GOOD for gaming unless it has G-Sync in it. I'm done choosing either tearing+low input lag or no tearing+high input lag. G-Sync tackles both problems simultaneously while also keeping the monitor's refresh rate in sync with the frame rate. G-Sync just screams mandatory. Adaptive sync tech in TVs will become the new standard someday.

    Actually already own this TV. Bought it last year after doing lots and lots of research. It’s just the best one out there for the price right now. Looks amazing with 4K HDR enabled games like MHW, and like Linus said, the input lag with game mode on at 4K is mostly imperceptible with casual titles, but with competitive titles it is more so.
    As long as you’re comfortable without having a built in cable tuner (it’s specifically made for all the cord cutters out there), then you’re gonna be very happy with this TV. It supports all chrome cast enabled apps and it has other apps that don’t support chrome cast , like Amazon Prime Video, built in.
    Pick up this TV with one of Vizio’s 5.1 surround sound setups that interfaces seamlessly with the app and you’ve got a pretty baller home theater setup and a great couch gaming experience all for under $2000!

    Personally, the Vizio E series, 55 inch and above, are excellent 4k gaming options at a quarter of the price of the P series. 1080p at 120hz, 4k at 60hz, and very minimal input lag when activating gaming mode AND the 55 inch and above include HDR. 55 inch goes for under 500 dollars at local retailers.

    I have been using 43 inch 4K monitors for almost 2 years. Sitting 900 mm away, the major problem is that one develops F1 drivers' neck, and have to increase one's collar size. Turning the brightness down also helps reduce eyestrain, at this range. Not all software is very good at adapting to higher resolutions, although recent updates have mostly fixed that.

    Just want to get the record straight on input lag. I have owned this tv for almost 2 years, The Vizio P65 2016 and 17 are identical. Input lag is 14 ms on 1080p @ 120 fps. 16.7 ms on both 4k and 1080p @ 60 fps. This is on input 5. Inputs 1 to 4 are higher but include hdr. So, this was monumental back in 2016 but the sony 900e is a better overall choice for gaming today because of the lower input lag playing hdr pc or console games. You will see same information posted on Rtings.

    This was cool to see. I've had a P65-C1 hooked up to my 1070 driven AMD machine for about 8 months now and have no complaints. It works well with shooters and RPGs (currently Kingdom Come) and it's pretty awesome with blu ray flicks. I also play PS4 and feel the same. I looked at tvs for about 3 months before deciding on this one and for roughly 1500 bucks, it has been a good choice for my main entertainment monitor. Will definitely look into the Nvidia option later but for now I am very happy with the Vizio.

    There have been high refresh rate televisions for years, as high as 240hz. While this feature is often touted for use and mistaken for the reviled motion interpolation, it’s still been available. Any 4k TV has at least one HDMI 2.0 port. Vizio televisions are disposable junk, especially when it comes to lag and processing. It’s not the panel, it’s the software and hardware driving it most of the time, as most of them source from the same factories.

    The TCL 4k Roku TVS are awesome for gaming. Low input lag and reponse time.

    yep rocking a sony 65" 85xc, in 4k 60 4:4:4: or 1080p at 120hz. - great to be able to switch between high refresh rate and full 4k large screen immersion whilst chilling on the couch.
