neat idea! i have built many diffrent designs ,all worked well, my favourite one is an omnidirectional 2 element, two 12awg copper loops the size of a 5gallon bucket, 90degrees apart from each other mounted on pvc pipe, and the plastic covering on the wires dosent affect signal, i get 36 channels with mine, and no turning!
Good work . For cheep. Even added a small solar panel, and amp. next to antenna the cell collects enough for nite use. The panel and BATTERYS are from side walk lamps so 24/7 the RF runs down the pipe at the TV . Tks amigo via con dios.

The silver braiding on your coaxial cable is shielding...not for picking up but blocking signal from interfering with the signal supplied by the copper 'core' wire....as we called it in the industry...the stinger.
the fun drill was not a reflector but for the other terminal.you are just imagining that you are making a small satellite disc but zero knowledge how antenna receiver works.
Of course, the digital tv use the same frequencies the analog tv was using. only the encoding used changed. not the freqency.. and antennas are frequency dependant.
Looks like it will work pretty good if you lived close to towers. What would the range in miles be? Anyone know? I have everything to make this. Guess I'll give it a try. Why not. Thanks dude.
Here in my city I have an antenna approximately 75 miles away and receives the signal very well, this antenna is directional, it must be oriented towards the transmitting antenna. Videos like this should be banned...mostly these come from India and are not worth the time...This so called antenna wouldn't be able to pick up any digital TV signals unless the broadcasting tower was next door!!!

@@EltransformadorJL Just for shits and giggles I did make this so called antenna with the exact same parts,I tried a HDTV,an Fm Radio and a AM radio,the only thing it would pick up was one lonely AM Radio Station and I can do that with a loose piece of wire,lol...
@@EltransformadorJL This antenna is made with no applied science of radio waves propagation which is the key of a great antenna with suffisent gain when you live outside big city to get ... anything. Get a Yagi at least tuned on some specific tv channels... or 3 of them to cover all the tv bandwidth from 50 to 700 mhz and switch between them accordingly of the channel you try to tune on. but we don't know anything.

@@tommyb.6064 - You are 100% correct, all he needs is a Balun 75-300 ohm - BUT... Since he's in another Country, they might still use the "Old" VHF/UHF, as simple as those OLD Rabbit Ear Antenna will work. Unfortunately, since we went to Digital, those old Rabbit Ear will not work :/.
