Live and learn. Have to forgive ourselves for nothing bc nothing or no one is perfect.
We forgive others on the way or should before we go. It is life work.
We are spiritual beings having a human experience. The body is but a suit over the soul.

Beautiful movie.I think we can all identify a bit with some of the things in this movie. I myself grew up as an only child with a narcissist mother and a father who was there physically but far away mentally. I also run away like Emile ,but the ghosts of my pass are still there. It's taken me half of my life to forget and forgive. I have tried not to make the same mistakes with my own son, husband, family. With the help of my husband, I have forgiven my parents, especially my mother, but I still haven't forgotten. They are all gone, but their ghost are still with me .Thank you for showing us the movie.

    Loved this movie.
    It certainly stirs the heart.
Family's can be the most difficult to love and to forgive.
We sometimes expect more from family than they may be able to give, just because we share blood doesn't mean we will love each other or except each other for who we really are.
    Expectations are premeditated resentments.
If we don't communicate what we want or need it is our own fault when we are disappointed or hurt.
Bottom line, forgiveness is for us, to let go of pain so we can move forward to a more positive outcome for our lives & journey.
We can't fix the past but we can change our future by being better communicators.
Love Unconditionally, Light & Peace to All
    💜🕊

And never allow hatred to reign in your heart, catch up with those you left behind and live again. No matter how hard it looks like, we can do it. Jesus will show us how, trust in our Reurrected Lord.

To give an honorary speech at an older age, and to have the dead ghosts of your past present on the audience, it is the most difficult speech ever given. In between memories, flashbacks and guilty feelings words and time seem shadow-like, and confusing. Your film is dramatic but most humans do age under similar circumstances. Most of the viewers can relate to memories, family and shadows from our past.

@@wendyjones1422Forgetting is not a requirement. You must protect yourself from inviting a repeat of the same behavior by the person you have chosen to forgive. At the same time, should you choose to keep the offender in your life, you must not constantly remind them of their failure by throwing it in their face over and over again. That is not how forgiveness works. Sometimes , you must move on with your life leaving the other person, or persons, behind.

I got somewhat confused about the characters and who the flashbacks were depicting. All I really got was that he was supposed to have taken care of Nadia after her parents had died, which included his brother, Nadia’s father. But he never did, and left her in the orphanage.
Both his brothers died, he had never stayed in touch with them when he went away. He comes back in old age to accept an honorary degree in his hometown and stays with Nadia and her daughter. I never got why he cut ties with his brothers, especially the one who really loved him. Nor why he never married. Nor why Nadia’s husband left her (or she left him).
A moody film about old memories and regrets of choices made in youth and roads not taken. I liked the music as it fit the movie well.

I knew people like that. As far as I know all are alive. Their private failures and other people before they met me (normal person) made them that cruel, I think. The worst thing is that they play being a victim and teach others to treat in a strange way the real victim.

The family you were born into are blessings, and most of them are lessons that you agreed too when entering this world. When you learn the lessons in life from every human you counteract with and interact with it's all a win-win but if you shut yourself out without forgiveness (yourself+them) then you just have to keep repeating the lessons, over, and over, and over,
Einstein said the definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over expecting different results 🤦
SO good luck everybody learn to heal love and trust is the name of the game to get off the karmic hamster wheel..🥰

If there ever was a lesson in how to act and direct this has to be a top contender . How it never got near to an osccar or any top award defeats me

Today's Date is May 30th, 2023. I met Deborah Unger in 2004 in Vancouver BC Canada she was with her mother at this prestigious Italian restaurant on Burrard Street Dom Francesco. We spoke for while she liked my necklace she gave me her number I never call...She is an excellent actress. I would like to see her working in more films. I was surprised when I saw the Deborah Unger net worth because, she worked in excellent movies and box offices...

This was a very good but sad story. I was hoping that they might ask him to stay on. He is such a good actor. However, I can’t help but to think of him as Magneto, from X Men. If you’re on the fence about watching this movie, watch it, you won’t be disappointed. 🦋

We are our own memories. For ever. We don't understand our own selves , how much less others do not understand us. That supposed inner connection is vague.
