Welcome back to sleep deprivation, the only show on youtube where I develop dementia at 19 years of age and die by my early twenties. Today we’re going to cast our gaze back in the direction of these colorful characters as they learn about friendship.
This episode is apparently the least liked by the community at the moment, but I think it’s hilarious how it parodies anti-bullying vids and the mental health messages are definitely food for thought.

What I find incredibly ironic about Warren is that he offers genuinely sound advice about friendship - respecting each other, being nice, etc - but he is seemingly incapable of following that advice himself

This episode is my favorite. As someone who used to have a “friend” like warren, the way he was written felt super real to me. You can tell the writers for sure had experience with toxic guys like that.

This is definitely my fave episode. The brain friends world is so great, really nails the modern shitty CGI kids cartoons that move at 10 fps and have them do mundane things that don’t matter because the 2 year old watching is just enjoying the pretty colors

"I can't believe you jumped the lump!" Still kills me. It's really annoying how some people think that even the most simple and stupid stuff should be celebrated and rewarded... with an edible trophy of course.
I don't understand why so many people think this is the worst episode, it was one of my favorites and probably the funniest episode, and Colin was a great addition to it. I personally think episode one was the worst episode, it wasn't bad but it definitely gets way better from episode 2 and on.

It's my least favourite but it doesn't mean it's bad, all of the DHMIS episodes are great and this one has some of the funniest bits for me
I just find the bit with the fake doctor website kinda boring, and while very effective in showing how awful Warren is, the bit with him in Yellow's head goes on so long I went from uncomfortable to kinda fed up with it
That doesn't mean I don't like it! It's a great episode. But I would honestly agree with the sentiment it's the "worst" one (at least for me)
Except the ending, the ending is class and Ive rewatched it so many times coz it's so funny
Honestly, I think if the first episode was distinctive from the rest of the series, I'd like it infinitely more. As is I think it's a great episode, but I've alwyas loved how episode 1 of the original DHMIS run was so much different from the rest. Obviously that's largely because DHMIS 1 was *worse*, but I really did like that sense of progression. I wish the first episode of the new show had carried itself more like a "first episode", personally. As is, it plays things safely enough that it's distinctively less stellar, albeit still a DHMIS masterpiece.

No problem, it's feeding my insatiable addiction to talking.
through elementary school i had a toxic best friend and that episode was a damn near perfect portrayal of that. it was the dread yellow felt when warren circled him that really hit home, and how all the sudden you're scared of the knock on the door
edit: if anyone is in that sorta situation, just know that you can leave and you will make/have much better friends eventually

The most relatable episode for me especially when the yellow guy shuts down and imagines a better more fantasized life and I'll be honest I kind of do that from time to time.
5:43 I could be reading too much into this, but as an American where healthcare is only provided via employer, “freelancers deserve to die” is technically the official position of the U.S. government. Also, in episode 1, the suitcase representing jobs is literally intertwined with the medical kit. I know this show takes place in the UK where things aren’t quite as bad as they are here, but it’s possible it’s a subtle job at how bad things can get in our part of the world.
Also unemployed Brandon hurts his hand and no-one helps him. Well, red asks if he's okay but they tell him to get over it essentially.
Healthcare _isn't_ only provided via employer tho. You can buy your own health insurance as well.

i personally saw the ending and 'worm in your brain' song as a metaphor for like blaming other things and scapegoating your problems rather than resolving them in a healthy manner. Like yeah Warren isn't a good guy but he didn't cause the problem, it was Red Guy and Duck being mean to Yellow Guy. An after forgetting they sent him in in the first place (rather than let him leave), they jsut happily wnt with the idea that it was all his fault and they did nothign wrong.
and what happens? they get into an arguement and fight because blaming a 'worm in your brain' isn't going to solve your actual problems, t's just gonna ensure they keep happening.
that's just MY take though.
love this take. In case y'all hadn't noticed, I'm super into character and thematic stuff, so ideas like these are my favorites.
But they aren't wrong though. He almost ruined computer day by not remembering the password... when it was his only job. Should they have insulted him? Maybe not... but praising him for being a good guy would also be wrong.
Its funny that in both Colin the computer episodes you are gaslit by the DHIMS team to believe that the teacher for the episode will be a completely different teacher before they are interrupted by a being that comes out of fucking NOWHERE

I found this episode very relatable. Warren reminds me of those teachers I had when I was a kid that were really only interested in teaching because it made themselves feel good, and when people criticized anything about the messages or ideas they promoted, they would get really offended or gaslight them into thinking that what they said was incorrect or out of line. I also like the dynamic element of Warren going from a social parasite butting in on the friends’ computer time to a social predator that preys on the mind of the yellow guy; definitely reflects my experience with these teachers/people.
Hi there! I just wanted to say that I have a dissociative disorder, yet I somehow completely missed the fact that Yellow Guy’s entire… thing this episode was dissociation. You’re absolutely not wrong, though- and I was extremely confused as to why I was so attached to this episode before hearing that, so uh… thanks!!

I was able to relate to this episode due to also having parallels to anxiety: ie the worm in my brain that screams all my biggest insecurities in my face.
I have struggled with feeling that the people in my life that I care about secretly hate me and that I must be the most unpleasant person ever. When his friends insulted him, Warren reinforced the idea that the two aren't his real friends. He tries to go into his head to cope, but over time that worm shows up and even in your own mind you no longer feel calm and secure.
The first time I heard this had a show was seeing the end of this episode, Red Guy screaming "IM DEALING WITH IT" made me realized I need to watch the rest of the show.
Really? This episode wasn't liked by the fanbase? That surprises me. It has a teacher who is intensely unlikable, the "worm in our brain" song is really good, that ending fight is one of the funniest things in the show, it has Collin... I find that really hard to believe. This was one of my favourite episodes, even if Warren is so annoying
The only thing I think that's 'bad' about the episode is the ugly CGI scene, it's physically very difficult to watch.
I think a lot of people conflate this episode as 'Warren', and Warren is the actual worst. He's a narcissistic sociopath and genuinely one of the worst type of people. Watching this episode involves seeing more of Warren, and that's something you really don't want to do.
I just find Warren pathetically hilarious. And I’ve definitely been around toxic people like him.
Idk, a paranoid resentful side of me thinks that it’s so disliked because there a lot of Warrens out there.
This was one of my favorite episodes. The brain worm song was one of the highlights for me.

I think Red and Yellow jittering when Warren freezes the video is a reference to how some video editors fail to do actual STILL freeze frames and instead of looping one frame they mistakenly loop 2 or 3, creating a weird jittery motion in the freezing
Basically the show outed Warren as an incompetent editor that can't use Premiere correctly

I had a really big problem with maladaptive daydreaming when I was younger and that brain friends thing… was pretty much exactly what I did. So this episode hits home a lot lol

this is my favorite episode, although the horror twist was a bit lame and weirdly paced, feel like the build up could have been scarier and not so suddenly like "He's a giant mutated monster now". Maybe he forces Yellow Guy to regress further and further into his brain, getting more abstract and weird, while Warren is slowly mutating and growing larger. anyway, still an awesome episode tho! Freelancers deserve to die

The fact that Warren says that "all the websites in the world can't help you" is a little foreshadowing to the fact Red and Duck find the solution to Yellow's situation on the computer
It's so interesting seeing how the teachers in this TV series have been suffering as much if not sometimes more than the main cast when compared to the web series. Business Bag? Dead as of episode 6. Coffin? Killed by yellow. The Family? Eaten. Warren? Stabbed. Transport dude? Passes out, his body is used as vehicle and then dies before being burned.
Even Elec-Tracy suffered a lot before getting her batteries back.
The trio have so much more power in this series
I used to know someone like Warren, it sucked because he would always try to one up everyone in every way and then play the victim if anyone didn’t like him
Anyone who knew someone like Warren should be entitled to finacial compensation.

I feel like duck doesn’t notice when things are wrong unless he doesn’t agree with the lesson, but does he even notice? Or does he just get fed up, he is pretty oblivious most of the time, I’m glad they fleshed him out more he didn’t do much in the original except die in a horrific and brutal way.
Duck is underrated honestly
It kind of seems like he is generally skeptical of others unless they do something to stroak his ego or otherwise show value in him.

I found this to be one of the best episode because it really touches close to home because I work in the education business. Warren is the perfect personification of all the bullying, drug, racism grifters that show up, plant ideas that there is a problem in peoples heads, those problems because a self fulfilling prophecy, and the company/school turn back to the grifter for a solution (which the grifter does not have). Ultimately the grifter just gets embedded so deep in the organization in the form of specialized offices and high paid admins that only create more problem than they solve that the only solution is a violent extraction.

Warren’s is neither a worm or eagle. He’s an infection I had up my a-
Gonna be honest the episode felt extremely real to me because one of my parents was similar to Warren [ giving actual good advice yet not using the advice themselves and acting like they're a pal ] which made me just wait for the moment Warren got killed off, it was like a sense of euphoria for me. And yellow guy was really relatable at least to me in this episode. Especially the fact he only goes into his brain when Warren puts in the idea that his friends are bad, and when Warren is taken out he doesn't retreat to his brain again even when literally hit with a glass bottle.
I feel as if the teeth in yellow guy's brain is a sign there's a tumor there, as tumors have been seen to grow teeth, hair, and even brain tissue.

I loved this episode and it's the one I have rewatched most. I'm not sure if I would call it my favourite but I feel this is the episode that can stand out best on its own, legit want to show this to friends.

Jesus christ. This episode really hits hard considering that I used to be such a toxic friend to a friend group at one point in my life. Id rather not get into it because I hate my past self.
And for the people who wanna know what happened after I lose them. I pretty much just started wallowing at my own guilt but I realize that if I wanna be a better person I have to actually change than just lying that you did change. I took me months to figure out of to be someone that should treat others better rather than being that annoying brat that I used to be.
(Sorry if anyone will hate me because of this or wanna cancel me or whatever. I just wanna vent about this because this episode reminded me of what I used to be)

I used to be really close friends with a warren. Thankfully when she cut me off to try and manipulate me and others, I just let her go. She still thinks I need to apologize but I know that I didn’t do anything wrong and that all she’s ever done is hurt me and has never apologized, so it’s up to her to apologize if she ever decides to be a better person.
The fact that your Warren thinks YOU need to apologise means you have complete control over whether or not you see them again, which I see as an absolute win.

17:56 as much as i like the "red guy rushes to defend duck" thing i think its funnier to see that red guy was defending YELLOW GUY and telling duck to be nice yet STILL hit him with a bottle when he hits duck. like he is both sides clearly a great way to stop a fight (this is why red guy is not the house father figure /j)
I absolutely adore the ending. It had me in stitches just hearing them go from wholesome song, so Duck being a Dick and Red Guy trying to defend Yellow, only for it to devolve into a violent argument.

I don't think Warren actually can freeze time for them.
The scene where he's shown talking from the trio's POV is during one of his paused segments, yet they're not actually frozen from their own perspective.
Also, you said there's a familiar face in Yellow's brain, but that picture is actually Yellow turning as a butterfly. It has his yellow face and orange nose rather than Shrignold's blue face and yellow nose.
Yumpherdinker makes me think of a Popee the performer character so that's extra nightmare fuel ever if Yumpherdinker is chill.
I could probably write an essay on Warren- I love and relate to him so much
He's not malicious, he's not *trying* to be a bad friend. He just doesn't really know any better and doesn't understand. He was perfectly content giving the trio a lesson and then leaving. But they bribed him to come back and help Yellow, which is what he wanted and tried to do.
But as soon as he started getting recognition and love, he let it go straight to his head. He genuinely thought that Yellow and the brain friends were his friends and didn't understand that he was pushing them away
I really like how red takes yellow's side at first but when yellow gets mad and hits duck with a bottle red yells "I'M DEALING WITH IT!!"
What yellow has on the head Is not just a house, is a replica of the house in the intro sequence where the cast supossedly lives

My 8 year old nephew wanted to watch this episode with me, and his mom said it was fine so he watched some of it with me, but he didn’t like it so he left right before yellows “brother” kills himself and my mouth flew open in that moment, I was so glad he left because he was the only character my nephew liked while watching 🙊
Fun fact: on ep 2 you can see "worm fired for harassment" in the news paper which explains the eagle part

Suddenly, you think you are in that slasher movie you watched a few years back and kill your wife thinking she's Michael Myers.
