Meanwhile President Biden is setting a unprecedented example in standing WITH unions, Trump lost the civil case in NY to the tune of millions and the costs of closing up businesses in NY and now this decision in SC. I wonder if their electorate will see the forest through the trees?
The problem with this video is that it makes an assumption that isn't necessarily true: that Republicans actually get UPSET if they lose. As long as they stay true to their reactionary ideologies, losing an election becomes a sign of triumph, a "moral win" if you will, and they place the blame for their loss not on themselves and their preposterous politics, but on the voters, who are seen as fickle and ignorant. In other words, it's not the policies that become the problem, but the stubborn and wayward mindset of the voters themselves, who fail to recognize what is "good" for them.
Brian… A question for your guest. This may sound naive but is anyone trying to eradicate this problematic district mapping system into a Proportional Representation Democracy? Get rid of electoral college and just tally the all votes in total. No one would “lose” their vote even if they are a political minority in a majority district. Trudeau promised something similar in Canada a few years ago and it went nowhere.

We ended up where we are because of a Christian Dominionist/Nationalist plot called "Seven Mountains Mandate". Through deceptive practices and deceptive messaging, people were tricked into voting in people who are basically Christian Taliban death cult members. They did it slowly over the las 60 years at the state level where lots of people were not showing up to vote and not paying close attention. Disgusting.
Any state blatantly ignoring the law in the 24 election should be sanctioned or ignoring the results from highly gerrymandered areas or even states.
Is it possible for the state legislatures to be held in contempt for defying court rulings?
I hope so.

Large majorities of Democrat voters supported the 'For the People Act HR1/S1 that would have fixed this. A majority of Republican voters even supported it. The Dem majority House passed it. The Senate Republicans & big money filibustered and killed it.

It's amazing that this is the only way that McCarty and the Repubs were able to get their small majority. Imagine what could have been accomplished (ie: a budget and any legislation from the house) if these illegal districts had not been permitted and dems maintained control of the house...

This led to Republicans losing or failing to win both State Houses and the Governorship in 2022.

This is the latest GOP Republican Citizen spending bills;
--An 80% cut in grants to schools
--A 70% cut in fruit and veggie benefits for the WIC food program
--A $665 million cut to the EPA safe drinking water access program
Remember that these cuts are after the corporate welfare programs and the PERMANENT corporate tax cuts
These are the same people that don't believe in giving workers a fare wage.

If the government shuts down, the Congress and senate should not be paid.
To clarify, service members and essential federal employees still have to work without pay during a government shutdown. Many of these families will have to take on debt to make it through a shut down.
I am a retired Marine and I lived through multiple shutdowns over the years trying to support my family. It was very difficult to get through every time and if I had not stocked up prior to the shutdowns, my family would have gone hungry. The military know how to stretch a dollar farther than anyone else.

I work with military college students and they were just notified today that previously approved Tuition Assistance Requests for all classes starting October 2 and later will be canceled if the govt shuts down. Not only are students learning 3 days before classes start that they have no payments, but they'll have to vacate their dorms if they have to drop their classes.
It's outrageous that millions of soldiers will be affected.
All right, this is good. It's progress, it's certainly progress. Now we just have to get the GOP voted out of office in 2024, so that they _can't_ try to come back in 2025/2026 and do this all over again. Can we accomplish this, America?
