The US seems extremely unusual in the first world about how openly political the appointment process is. Most European countries I can think of have some body or committee that handles the appointment of judges, prosecutors etc to avoid the political bias

Lack of modern education and media such as FAUX MEWS and Newsmax help influence voters in rural areas. Conservatives undermine people's confidence in democracy. Everything that conservatives touch, they destroy.
Understand.. conservatives are liars. when they say "They love America", they do not mean it. How can I say that? By observing their actions. When they say "states rights", again, you see the actions don't back up their words. See.. abortion rights.
Yes. It is all conservatives. It's time to stop lying to ourselves because the reality is frightening. Our conservative beloved members are dangerous. Their votes have killed people. That blood is on their hands. The people in TX who voted for Abbot are the people who are guilty of harming any person who is harmed by those blades on those buoys. The people who voted for Trump are guilty of mass murder (see covid death rates as just one of them). Just because they are polite and look good doesn't mean they are good. Just because they have fancy degrees doesn't mean they are smart. As I say.. my calculator can figure out the cube root of pi. I can't do that as fast as my tool. Which one of us is human?
See, skills does not mean smart. It just means tenacity of memorizing. You won't see future innovation come from this crowd. They would have implemented a monarchy in our fledgling USA because they wouldn't have been able to dream of "a more perfect union" or a democracy (the first MODERN democracy). All the conservatives in the world expected us to fail because they couldn't imagine a world with this revolutionary new governance model. We had the last laugh because everybody started copying us. Our only flaw was that we were forced to tolerate conservatives infecting our constitution with their bs. (I mean, I can understand why the electoral college existed when people were "I'm a Virginian" or "I'm a New Yorker". But now, aren't we one nation indivisible? Why are we using something like that when I've met many transplants (hell I'm a transplant) who moved from one state to another. I think of myself as an American first. So why haven't we updated that electoral college to reflect the new reality? Conservatives who can't imagine and innovate a "more perfect union" .
I don't care about the political inclinations. All I demand is a good person in power. If they are honorable people with integrity, I fear nothing. Good can only create good. But evil can only create evil. So I don't care about age or political membership. A person with integrity will act honorably. Biden is a good man. Look at what he does. He respects the limits of his constitutionally defined powers. He acts honorably with the evil conservative... even to the point of tolerating their vicious evil attacks on his own son. His only remaining son. I want a dad like Joe who has my back even when I screw up. I can't speak for everybody but when I heard a recording of Joe talking to his son, I was jealous. I wish my dad had been more like Joe Biden. (Oh... I never want Trump. Trump reminds me of my dad in some ways. Egotistical nightmare.)
Having said that spiel about not caring about political affiliation, you can see a disconnect. Here's why there is a disconnect. Because I have stereotyped conservatives based on well over a decade of observation. You don't expect penguins to fly do you? Well, I've seen conservatives and I've observed their actions. I've seen centrist liberals and I've observed their actions. I've seen flaming commies and I've seen their stupidity. (No offense but they want a king to ram down their social policies. they, like their conservative cousins, are a little too authoritarian for my taste. I do not want a King President. I want rule of law because I'm an American and I want a system of checks and balances that ensures that the majority doesn't tyrannize the minority but also, that the minority doesn't tyrannize the majority. Freedom baby. I don't give two shits if two men want to get married. As long as people or animals aren't getting hurt for now or for future generations, it's all good. My limitation is on measurable harm. We can measure harm. women do this all the time. I won't eat a donut because I know exactly where that donut is going to go.. on my hips. I'll eat my carrots and be happy that I don't have to buy a larger sized pair of jeans or pants.)
Look at the southern baptists. They used to be progressive. Now, people look at them and think.. racist sexist nasty evil Christians. Right? Jerry Falwell Jr with his little pool boy sex games. That's what southern baptist means now.
So no to conservatives. We need to re-negotiate that US constitution because, for me, I genuinely religiously don't believe that conservatives have a legitimate voice in my US democracy. I do not think that Boebert has a right to be in Congress. I do not believe that Rand Paul (from Why is Kentucky a state in the US because they mooch so much?) has the right to be in the US Senate. I do not believe that Alito or that crazy Christian are legitimate SCOTUS judges. Conservatives love their religious freedom and love to excuse away evidence with "just faith". well, I have faith that these people aren't legitimate Americans. Please respect my first amendment right to freedom of religion and observe my beliefs just as much as conservatives want to force me to observe their stone age magic nonsense.
The US seems extremely unusual in the first world about how openly political the appointment process is. Most European countries I can think of have some body or committee that handles the appointment of judges, prosecutors etc to avoid the political bias

Actions like this and Alabama are why we need a punitive response for when officials (local, state, federal, administrative, legislative, executive and judicial) act in bad faith. So many people have marched, died and sacrificed for us to be able to vote so it is necessary for us to vote to get laws changed and get things done that affect us.
