Siblings Reunited In Stunning Scotland

My sister Rosy and I met again as Parkrun Pals.
We travelled to Edinburgh to stay with our brother and started Saturday morning with a parkrun.
I had planned to run shoeless again...
the day dawned bright and beautiful and clear and 2 degrees!
I changed my mind and donned my shoes!
Run With Julia is an opportunity to talk about your own running journey with a lifetime runner and coach who understands the high and lows, the twists and turns of the running road…

I started competing when I was twelve years old. I loved finding what was possible…
I ran fast times in the 1980’s

In 1985 I had the wonderful experience of winning the Dublin City Marathon.
I also competed in the 1986 Commonwealth Games, but had to retire during the race at 20m due to injury.
The personal experience of the ups and downs has been growthful for me, and also given me a depth of awareness that helps me to coach others and help them return after disappointments and set backs…
All these years later I am still loving competing and finding out what is possible….

Ah yes, I had heard that Parkruns in Scotland start at 9:30. I thought it might of been due to the darker mornings during winter, but it's also because at the first location the park cafe didn't open till 10am. A little fact I thought you would enjoy! ☕

Hello Steve! 😀I love the reason the Scottish parkrun starts later!! The coffee ☕️ 😍 shop reason! 😍 I would rather prefer a 9 30am start everywhere as Saturday is often a day that I'd like to sleep on 😴 💤 a bit!! ☕️ 🏃🏼‍♀️
