Nice seeing you Smoke, thanks Maddie for discovering another trail. I used to walk the historic trail in Panama City FL. I would think most towns and cities have an historic trail. Its cool this trail you discovered covers across the USA.
Great video, Maddie! I’m glad you discovered the American Discovery Trail! I’m originally from southern Indiana and went to Hanover College just up the road. After hiking the AT, I became the first to run the entire American Discovery Trail and had a great time running through my beloved Madison and across Hanover’s campus, having arrived there from Delaware. Just a tip, a strong hiker can cross the US on the ADT in less than a year. Some have done it in under 8 months hiking. Happy adventuring! Maybe next try a little taster and walk from Madison the the St Louis Arch! The trail goes right under it!
Had me laughing skin the way…. Love you spontaneous nature. Small adventures can be interesting & fun. Just getting out in nature regardless of the depth of nature. You have me doing something tomorrow for my Birthday. I’ll pick a near not done before trail loop off All Trails…. And stop in to a local brewery on the way back. ❤😊
I love finding gems close to home. I heard about Route 66 most of my life, and wanted so badly to go. I found out 7 months after moving in to an apartment it was ON Route 66😮. Happy Trails
Glad you discovered the trail, it's really not "all about road walking", there is a lot still but every year more is moved off roads as better alternatives are opened.
I enjoyed the trip and your prospective and information afterwards ! Esp about the hiker that did the entire trail from Delaware ( just down the road !)
Great to see you’re using the drone for overhead viewing. ✅I’ve heard about the east to west trail bicycling. Thanks for sharing you two. ✌️♥️💪🇺🇸 Idea whitewater rafting.
@@timfarness9949 oh that's really nice of you! I don't mind though, I like to think of fellow RUclips folks like we just work for the same company, not like we're competitors
Oregon is definitely on my list for this upcoming road trip! I'd love to hit Washington, too, but I'll see if I'm up for it, I may get sick of driving after a while!
Hi Maddie 👋🏻 Check out Alexander Seling, and Adventures with the Crazy Vet , they both did the American Discovery Trail 👍🏻Hope you are doing well my friends, stay safe and take care 👊🏻 God Bless 🙏🏻 Appreciate you!
Glad you’re bringing awareness to the ADT. Maybe this will help clean up some of the rougher sections that have been described in First Church of Masochist videos. It does go on the C & O trail and that crosses the AT in Harper’s Ferry - it’s a hiking/biking trail with plenty of campsites and portajohns along the way. It’s short 184.5 miles. Great trail though! Depending on your start point - you can visit Washington DC! Would love to see you do this trail!
Follow Masochist.. he just went thru Madison in the past week. I think hes made his way thru rhe Knobstone and Adventure trail by now. His RUclips vids are a few weeks behind.. so tune in now to see his Indiana trek. This guy has done the triple crown, the trail that goes from key west to Canada, and now doing the American discovery trail. Passing thru Indiana right now. Thanks for the vid! I live in Indy.. but from North Vernon originally, 30 mins north of you.
So the south segment, should go to Elizabethtown OH where north south east connect, you do have 2 paths through Indiana south and north till they reconnect in Denver.
He isn't oing the ADT but have you heard about Laz Long, the Barkley Marathons guy? He decided to walk across the country, he's in his 70s, and has gotten as far as St Louis. Guy is crazy. I loved this Vlog, quite at bit, although how can it be a hike if Smoke doesn't have his kettle?
Maddie, will you be attending the Unlimited Class Hydroplane races on the 4th of July weekend there is Madison, IN?? I remember attending them when I was a kid. A very long time ago. Cheers, Mate.
There’s trails all over this vast country. Life is a trail…lol. Yeah, people don’t talk about the American Discovery Trail very much. Smoke with the classic mullet
To be clear for those who have never heard of it -- the American Discovery "Trail" is not actually a full trail. From the Web site: "About a third of the ADT is single-track trail. Another third goes through greenways, parks, rail-trail conversions, and open spaces, where the surface may be dirt, asphalt, crushed stone, etc. The last third is on roads, primarily country roads, both paved and unpaved, with light traffic, including farm vehicles, etc., but in some instances city sidewalks and highways."
I would do it with my pedal bicycle if I weren’t committed to what I’ve been doing with my life. It’s just an old Walmart style hard frame bike, with the better still cheap though high pressure 26” Bell flat defense road tires from walmart. They’ve put up with the puncture weeds thorns here all this time. I’m saying this ‘cause that sure looks like a great bike ride! And then the parts where it’s no doubt no bike-o, just carry it or bring it along!
Smoke with his up in smoke shirt, lol! Love it
Gotta be on brand!
Your boyfriend is cool..very reserved and chilled..one might say you two are meant for each other...love your videos and your love for adventures 😊
Yes! Thank you!
I'm so jealous of Smoke's mullet! I need to try that hair stlye.
Smoke's a funny dude. 😂 The clapper! So cool you did a video about this! Briana is from my home state of Maine. So proud of her. 😊 Thanks Ranger ✌️
Glad you enjoyed it! And rock on to Mainers!
Masochist is in Indiana right now on his hike of the ADT. Good Luck, Rick
How cool to find a trail like that in your backyard!
This is part of the rails to trails system,I absolutly love it, turning old train rails to bicycle or walking trails. they are in every state.
Oh cool!
Really enjoyed this one, thank you. It just shows there's adventure to be had everywhere!
You guys should hike the whole trail - do it buddies !!!
That would definitely be entertaining, but I wouldn't be comfortable stealth camping so often!
Nice seeing you Smoke, thanks Maddie for discovering another trail. I used to walk the historic trail in Panama City FL. I would think most towns and cities have an historic trail. Its cool this trail you discovered covers across the USA.
Ive been on the ADT a couple of times in southern Indiana. Its cool to be on a little tiny section of such a cool long trail! Loved the video.
I love how you enjoy life. Your videos are so refreshing. Love to you and Gabe from NY.
Oh that’s so nice to hear! Thanks so much!!
Thanks!
Wow! Thank you so much! This made my night!
Follow First Church of the Masochist. Over 1k of his journey on this trail
I follow this guy and it’s interesting to watch him hike coast to coast. He’s always looking for trail angels. Maybe reach out to him.
Me too, actually he got off the C&O trail a day before we would’ve passed him on bicycles.
Yes! Follow this guy!
He must be close to Madison by now. And Taters will join him soon for the summer. They are so fun and funny and happy together.
I've been following them, too. It would be a strange hike, with the stealth camping and all.
Heck yes!!

I used to live in Madison and I walked the same part that you did. Nice little walk.
Oh how cool! I love that!
You used the drone!! Nice River!

Thanks! It hasn’t been easy getting that drone to do what I want it to (mostly my own mistakes) but I finally got it working this time
Yay! Trail and brew review!
The trail looked nice, but going along busy roads with cars is dangerous. Thanks for sharing have a great summer!
Thank you! You too!
😂😂 buena esa
I am following a hiker who has done the triple crown+ and now doing the ADT east to west, he is Indiana.
First church of Masochist? He sounds very popular!

I dint realize you were from Indiana until recently, maybe I’ll see you out there some day!
Cool video, The trail looks nice but I don't care for road walking with traffic either.
Fair enough!
Maybe i would do ADT as a section hike- a few sections a year and eventually…..I’d walk all of it 🤷♀️
Fun video!
Thank you!!
More couple trips please.
Thanks! Love sent from Washington State...
Pacific...Washington Oregon should check out Washington State endless sights to see ❤

Aw thanks!
I was just on that trail a couple weekends ago!
Love you both. ❤❤

I just watched his latest video and he might have already been through here! I reached out just in case, though!

Let's go!
You always bring the enthusiasm, and I appreciate that so much!!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlacesI enjoy your videos a lot. I can't physically go out on adventures anymore so I'm always excited to see your adventures.

Hi Maddie and smoke!
Another cool video..ty..ever hear of the Illinois trail?
No I haven’t! Interesting!
I’d kinda like to walk the California portion, being from the Bay Area. 356 miles. Hm.
Perhaps you could design a parallel path to follow with your van, camping along the way.
Oh that would be so cool!
Maddie I am to old you and Smoke can have my part.I hope you too have a great week.
A girl from Maine finished it about 2 months ago

nevertheless you can follow the ADT from coast to coast.
You can hike it but it's best suited for cycling.
Interesting, I thought it was footpath only!
far more people hike the ADT than bicycle it, there are numerous parts of the trail not open to bicycles where alternate routes are provided.
I would do it with my pedal bicycle if I weren’t committed to what I’ve been doing with my life.
