This may be an old video but it worked!!!! Thank you, thank you, Jose! I followed your instructions exactly and after leaving Windex inside the Epson nozzle overnight, I did head cleaning in the morning once and it suddenly started printing great AND it also solved the problem with skipping a line every inch or so. Yippeee! I appreciate it so much!
Here's what worked for me: I am no printer expert. I am an artist. I have little 30 ml plastic needle tip bottles for filling with paint and making thin lines. I took an empty one and, with a scissors, trimmed the plastic needle tip a little at a time until it was a snug fit. I put a clean folded piece of paper towel down over the sponge tray. I squeezed some Windex with ammonia through the nozzle until I saw it come out on the paper towel. First nozzle check was perfect. It was only my magenta that was clogged. YEA!
Came back and logged in, strictly to thank you for this video! My old Epson WF-2540 quit printing, while doing our shipping labels yesterday. Had a few OEM's laying around to finish up those labels... and that's when the fight started! 3 or 4 carts were so clogged, thought I busted the printhead in the early stages of the repair attempt(S). Fast forward to today, and we're back in the race. Thanks Jose!!!
Actually, it isn't. The Cyan and Yellow both will print hit or miss after the cleaning; and after a few pages of test prints, stops printing all together. Now, not convinced head damage wasn't done. Given the old gal one final cleaning and have emptied the carts back into the CISS tank... Will refill them and test again. May be making an unplanned trip to Best Buy tomorrow. I did notice drips coming out of the print head, after soaking only the business end in distilled white vinegar and water, while looking to see if there was a spray pattern or dribbles. *shrugs* The thought crossed my mind to use naphtha on these two buggers, but haven't. Thanks for the reply Jose! Have a nice night.
Why are you using vinegar??? Acids will dissolve electronic connections and corrode the nozzle plate! You can use Windex but never vinegar or other acids! I hope you did not damage the electronics!
In my reading before tackling this, Windex was widely suggested. Vinegar, just as I used it, also made the mention. If it was wrong advice and I've cursed the print head, so be it. I'll take that L with pride and carry on. It was also suggested to use 50/50 alcohol/water, mixed with a drop of "OIL" - I asked for verification of hearing her correctly and she affirmed. Did not take that advice but, at one point before talking to her, I'd considered using pure Naphtha. That 'may' leave a film but if the unit was flushed with air afterwards and left to air dry for 12-24 hours, I "think" it'd be OK. Cont...
Didn't do Naphtha. Used 90% alcohol 50/50. The 2 problem nozzles are back, but barely. This may take a while before I trash the printer and upgrade. Black is working fine with monochrome set on my desktop... so, it's serving the basic function for now. One guy, who seemed like he knew something said in extreme cases, he uses nothing but "white gas." Which is a petroleum Naphtha (pure Gas), as you know. I have VM&P Naphtha on hand. The same thread, another person(s) suggested DIV and water. so... you know. Seem plausible to use this, and make sure it's air dried, mechanically (clean syringe) and naturally, under conditioned air? If you have a manual that'll help get to the innards, that'd be great. Need to clean the internals out after all this head cleaning and crud. Thanks for your time, Friend! If you need Screen stuff, DM me, anytime!
Thanks a million for this and your other videos on how to unclog my Epson Artisan 1430, Jose. The black ink was completely clogged. Now the printer is working like new. You saved me $400 for a new one. You da man!
Hey Jose. When the print-head is docked. With power off. Push the white plate on left side metal wall behind of the ink box, between the upper and lower yellow belt to unlock the print-head,
Hello, Jose. The instructions in your video are very clear and have helped me unclog the heads. I'd like to know how I can refill the ink cartridges like you do. What are the plugs you showed in the bottom of the cartridges and where do you buy them? How do you install them?-Could you make a video to show u how to?
You have great videos and they have been very helpful in maintaining my Canon Pixma and Maxify printers. Printing every day or two certainly helps, however I still have issues with clogged print heads on occasion. Would refilling used cartridges with Windex with ammonia and running a clean cycle hurt the print heads? What about removing the print head and soaking the heads in a pool of Windex over night? I also wonder if some of my issues may be due to a problem with the printer cleaning mechanism or waste collector. Any suggestions? I'll be looking for more of your videos.
When canon printhead begin to show signs of clogging even though you are printing frequently it's likely due to the printhead begging to reach the point where it is near it's physical life. I would not load carts with with dex but I stead remove the carts and printhead and dribble Windex onto the affected ink ports while it rests on a Windex soaked folder paper towel. Ere are many videos on YT showing how to do this properly. But at the end of the day, canon PHs should not clog if you print often.
Come to you as looked at many ! Mg Epson DX4400, started jamming the paper on printing, then of cos the red and green lights stag On! So I am trying this as I don't want to buy a digital printer, hope it works for me.😁
Thank you for helping so many of us! I think my problem with my Canon Pixma ip4500 may be the software update from MS. A new driver is not available for Win 10 with this, now 'obsolete' , printer. I have ink coming through the print head but the test print has NO color and the black is diminishing the more I do a clean/check nozzle/print test routine. Now, of course, that could be partly because the smaller black cart is now showing to be low on ink. I have taken the print head out and cleaned it with warm, then warmer, water and soaked with Windex. The print head can be removed so I can see that color ink is coming out but is not 'ejecting' onto paper. All in all, I think my formerly reliable little printer is kaput due to 'planned obsolescence'. Any thoughts about Win 10 being the culprit? Thank you.
If cleaning does not restore Ink flow while printing then yes. Maybe it's time for an upgrade. Canon printhead are very fragile and basically they are literally self destructing as they print. They will not last indefinitely. However it is better to just start fresh so you can have an up to date driver.
Dear Jose. Thanks a lot for the video. I had bad nozzle checks in my Epson Artisan 1430 printer, so I provided head cleaning and got good nozzle check on all inks, then next day on black channel yellow lines appeared instead of black. And this problem repeating again and again. Why it is and what to do? I used plastic adapter for cleaning black nozzle, mayby it damaged that nozzle? Next day I repeated nozzle ceck, everything was ok, no yellow lines in black. Somebody can explain those tricks.
@@cheo1949 Thank you for reply. I mean a syringe, pipe, liquid and so on. I looked on Ebay, a lot of stuff there, which ones to chose? And else I do not understand physically, why white horizontal lines appeared across black letters from right to left and top to down of page. Thank you again.
Good video Jose -- a guy asked you a question below, that I'd like to know -- do you have the exact link where to get that adapter ? Sure would be helpful. Are the adaptors still available ? What is the name and size description to make sure you get the right adaptor. You say use a syringe with tubing attached -- but everything has to fit, so what size of tubing ? and will the syringe head fit into it. I wonder if the receiving nipples on "all" Epsons are the same Jose ? Problem I'm having is finding the right size tubing -- where do you get it, and how do you know if you have the right size? Right now I'm using the plastic tube from the inside of a windex bottle that fits perfectly. Problem is you can't get much force with a syringe with a skinny little tip, to try and exert some pressure. Maybe surgical rubber tubing is the answer ? This Windex tube is the exact fit -- very rigid and stiff, and I plan to blow with my mouth to create some pressure. I'll do this til I find a better idea ?? I have an Epson Stylus CX 4800 that prints beautifully, when it's working, but right now the test results show broken lines on all colors, and I ran about 10 head cleanings, and now getting blank pages ? Maybe I ran the unit out of ink, as that's what head cleaning does. Anyways, your video is great Jose -- but it seems that everything always looks easy on RUclips, til you try it yourself. I think the major problem is having the right size and type of tubing, and right size of syringe to make this all work out. ' If there's a product description or link you can give me to buy that adaptor I'd sure appreciate it. thanks -- Robert in Canada
Jose, Your video and tips to perform the steps are very easy and thorough. I have an HP Officejet 4622 and My current issue is since I did the steps for each nozzle, My printer isnt recognizing the print head. What is that all about and what can I do about this. My Printer isnt that old and the usage was very slim. I shouldnt need a new print head since this the unit is 3 yrs old and hasnt been used often. Do you recommend the Windex or Rubbing Alcohol and if the Alcohol is ok, whats the best that works, like say 70%, 90%, 50%. Let me know what you think? I also have replacement ink cartridges because I cant find the ink refill kits they use to sell in the stores, so NOW I have bought 4 high yielding cartridges, which allows me to print off 500-800 sheets of paper which is what I need for my small business. I spent a lot of money buying a brand new Canon and used the cartridges it came with. Ink is expensive, so your input is helpful. Thank-you. Tom
I am a total dummy when it comes to HP printers. I only use and work with Canon and Epson Photo printers and not office printers. So I simply cannot even begin to suggest what to do. First I don't know what you mean by " I did the first steps for each nozzle"! Is the print head on these printers user replaceable? Have you been NOT using original ink? The older HP printers I remember used carts with built-in thermal prinheads. Are your carts not being recognized or the actual printhead? If it is the actual printhead then its time for a new machine. Did I hear hear you say you used the inks from a Canon printer on the HP????? I hope I read that wrong!! Instant death.
5:00 pay attention not to spray windex on the encoder strip behind the carriage unit :) I've done this several times on so many epsons, great video friend Some months ago i've made a DIY of that, made from a compatible cartridge and some other things XD Yeah 3 printhead cleanings is like a purge for a new printhead for taking out the shipping fluid :)
+ADCSFXworks Printing Center Good point. I don't think it will harm anything though if you wipe it clean after wards. I fixed and old 2200 that you could not do a head alignment on by wiping the encoded strip front and back. I didn't remove it from the sensor behind the print head carriage but just cleaned in sections by moving the print head left and right to get access to the strip.
+ADCSFXworks Printing Center Awesome! Do a video on the I itial refilling process for the world to see! I will hopefuly get that printer in a couple of month!
Hi jose. aah wished I seen this vid before ordering , this morning a printer heads cleaner for my Epson R2400. PS love your vids.....Very informative. .....Thanks
+Janet Diaz Either the attachment or the plain syringe and tubing will do the job. The gadjet you ordered is very nice nevertheless. So don' t feel bad. Just be very gentle. So nothing else has been abnle to uncloig the R2400? Remember that this supposed to be the last resort.
You literally have to blow into the air vent. Yes with your mouth! That will clear out any ink that may have been inside the vent itself. That will open up the airflow.
Hello I just a an r1800 used it was in great condition except the maintenance tank need to be reset, i switched the cartridge and cleaned the pads, now I cant get a good print even after cleaning the wiper blade the capping station pads, the pads on the other side too .... not really sure what else to do
I have a epson et4700 I bought the cleaning solution from amazon and was finally able to get the hose connected on both ends. It is really hard because there is no room entering from a drop down front. I got solution to go through but not working when I run a head cleaning and then a nozzle check. Do you have any suggestions or and easier way to access the hose connection inside?
Epson artisan 1430 question: if you plan to store a printer for an extended time, what are your thoughts on taking all the carts out , replacing the carts with empty carts filled with windex and performing several print checks? Once the checks are complete , remove the carts with windex in them and place the printer in storage? There is no ink to print with but going through the print check process a few times would wash out the ink channels and leave them clean and ready for future printing. If my idea is totally bad, how would you recommend prepping a printer for prolonged storage?
NEVER WINDEX. Only for short term use as ammonia can be corrosive to electronics. Order some Piezoflush from www.inkjetmall.com as it is designed specifically for what you are trying to do.
The 99 cent store and dollar store Windex even the one with ammonia isn't as strong it's watered down. I don't think watered down is the Wright word because it applies at one point it was full strength. Probably if you purchase a bottle of ammonia at the same time you buy a 99 cent windex and add extra ammonia you will be okay.
I have a 100s and its less than 6 months old. About a month ago the cyan channel was completely blocked. I managed to clear it via waterbaths and soaking etc. Then a week ago the yellow head became completely blocked. Ive had 3 attempts at clearing it with no joy so I'm going to try this method. I use the printer every 2 to 3 days and I'm running pc inks but the yellow was still the canon cart. I'm baffled as to why I should suffer 2 complete colour nozzles blocking in this manner.
You can not directly refill your original.yellow cart. You should have filled the replacement cart with the pc yellow ink. You now have a blocked yellow cart due to gelling. You will need window cleaner with Ammonia to clear that. Possibly. Do not print photos until you solve that.
Thank you so much for this video! I have a xp410. I have tried all of your suggestions as well as others, but still it acts like it's printing and using up ink, but the page comes out blank. Now, when I was cleaning the printer head (tube, with syringe, with cleaning fluid), I could see steady streams come out the head. What other suggestions do you have? Thank you so much for your time.
Does that printer have stationary carts? Thebreason unas is because that procedure SHOULD ONLY be used on printers that have carts on top of theb. printhead only. If you are printing totally blank then there might be some serious problem of an electronic nature.
Thank you for getting back with me so quickly. The cartridges sit in the carriage above the print-head. In fact they plug directly into it. How would I troubleshoot the electrical? @@cheo1949
Search online for the EPSON SERVICE MANUAL FOR YOUR PRINTER MODLE. It will tell you everything you need to know about electrical as well as disassembly of the printer if needed. Make note of any special tools you may need to reassemble the printer because you may need to search for them also. I have an NX420 that I am installing an excess ink tank on. My print heads are completely dried out but I have confidence I will get them unclogged. The printer is a good cheap printer I will fix and keep working for many more years ahead. Good luck with your printer. Being retired with a degree in electronics and computing helps, nothing but time to take care of little things. @LIOTBs
Where did you get that tubing? Another diy video stated aquarium airline tubing but that was slightly too big. I was unable to get a tight fit on the nozzle although it was a tight fit on the syringe. Thank you
Hi José, Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. Question: when I run a nozzle check in my epson printer, black color doesn't print at all. Same happens when I try to print anything, selecting normal paper. I can only assume that my black printhead is clogged. However, if I select photo paper, I can print perfectly any document or photo even using normal paper! I have been trying to find in internet an explanation to this behaviour, without any success at all. Any idea what's going on? Assume that the same printhead is used regardless whether normal or photo paper is selected. Am I wrong?
@@cheo1949 Thanks your reply. I have an old Epson SX-415 multifunction which has been working perfectly during many years, with refillable cartridges and same bulk ink. Then, from one day to the next, black color didn't print at all. I searched in internet and read all I could find about unclogging (and this is how I found your highly appreciated videos). I tried all your recommendations, without success. I tried also replacing cartridge by a new one and to link printer to another PC, but nothing worked. I then came across a long thread in a webpage in which one of the commentators suggested to try the photo paper approach. I tried, and it worked! (although when switching back to plain paper, black refuses again to print). The next comments in the thread were full of positive inputs from people, with many different models of Epson printers, for whom this solution had also worked out perfectly, although nobody could provide any explanation why. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate again the webpage where I found this information. Openly, my printer works now, and I don't care much if I have to waste more ink than needed, but I am completely puzzled about this situation (which might help others too), but to which I have not been able to find any reasonable explanation.
Good video but I have my cartridges separate from the printhead. (WP-4530). You said there is another way to clean the printers with fixed cartridges. How would I do that? Thanks in advance
Hi Jose,I did the same thing on my old r2400, when pushing the windex i had no resistence at all but i still have 3 missing channel.at this point i think i have air on my printhead. Any suggest?
The yellow on my printer is completely blocked, it doesn't print at all. I try to push the fluid through the nozzle, no fluid actually goes through. There seems to be too much resistance. I've tried running the fluid through the other colors and they go in really easily. Any advice on what I can do from here? Or what the problem is?
The problem is that the yellow print head is BLOCKED. The only easy solution is to attach a small tube onto that port, fill it up with cleaner, and leave it for days / weeks until it starts to run through by itself.
@@Rdslv "piezo flush" ended up fixing this for me if i recall correctly. I definitely recommend getting the ink cartridge adapter to properly feed the piezo flush as well.
put a little, scotch tape across the end of the paper towel, and tape it to the bottom piece where the carts glide, and it will never get caught on the towel
@@cheo1949 Thanks for all the videos , I have followed the cleaning the heads with windex and all the colour are fine expect for the Matt Black and photo black. I checked out the above link but I couldn't find any information for the R800 - the instructions were not the same cartridge carriage -if that make sense. Is there any Video instructions to do the above on the R800. Thanks again for your great work
Some say don't get windex with Ammonia D, while others say get windex without ammonia D. Better without, and use the suggested 99% alcohol instead. I guess the less added chemicals the better.
I have a Epson RX 595, ancient I know. I have been trying to unclog my yellow and black printer heads. I have tried the windex paper towels and flushing the printer heads with a windex filled pipette. Today when I ran the windex through the printer head I flushed till it was clean on my paper towel. I then did nozzel check and head claening, resulting paper print out is now blank. After several printings it will print about every 5th line of text. The line of text is poor at best. THoughts on what to do now? Have I killed my printer?
You may have killed it. Are You using refillable or compatible or original carts? If you are getting slightly different nozzle check results, you are maybe still ok. Cleaning cycles are the only recourse. Cleaning, followed by a nozzle check. No regular printing at all! Rest it overnight. Repeat. No regular printing. If you show improvements then there's hope. If not then a new printer should be the next step.
Dear Jose. I am new cleaner. I my case, a nozzle check print shows only one nozzle clogged. Do I need clean others also, as shown there by second syringe with tube?
Do you mean one single nozzle or a complete channel? If its only one actual nozzle and it's an epson it's not a huge issue. Unless it's permanently damaged it will eventually clear itself out. If other channels are clear there's no need to clean.
@@cheo1949 Thank you sir for prompt reply. Still have no result, black one is very weak. I will try to clean and to print again and again nozzles checks, but without cleaning cycles anymore. Enough to waste inks.
Could using a generic chip affect print quality? I'm getting gaps on my nozzle checks on a Canon MP620 (My middle Magenta and Cyan are completely missing)And not getting solid blacks on the left surrounding bars perpendicular to the PGBK, C,C,C,M,M,M,Y,BK (along with the bottom half of the BK missing). Also vertical gaps on my H-K under manual alignment. I tried cleaning the print head but it didn't affect the print quality at all. Should I try oem ink? Is the china ink I purchased that cheap where actual quality is affected?
I think your print head could be permanently damaged. You printed already with carts that are not providing sufficient ink feed. That will damage your print head and that is why you now have large gaps in your nozzle check. You should NEVER use compatible carts ( not chips ) on Canon printers. You should only print with OEM carts which you can then modify, reset and refill. Look on eBay for a brand new OEM print head.
I bought a used sublimation printer a epson.. the battery part where the wire connects one of the wires are completely of, can it be fixed? if so how can I fix this? if not can I buy this part and where? please and thanks? its for the cis part batter plug in!!epson wf 2760..thanks
No idea Mitzi. Are we talking about two different printers here? Is the one with the battery problem a portable sub type printer? If something is actually broken you would need to find the part which I do not know what that would be since I don't know the printer n del. The WF printers are usually for office work which I think use stationary ink carts so a CISS would be kind of redundant. Please clarify a bit more.
What????? Paint thinner? That is one quick way to destroy your print head and printer. Find Window cleaner that has low percentage of ammonia. Stop using thinner.
What do you mean ONE Printhead. A Print head is ONE complete unit composed of multiple COLOR Channels. Each corresponds to a color. TO clean one channel you load a syringe with CLEANING fluid for Print heads and NOT Thinner and attach a piece of tubing that will slip tight onto the Ink Spigot of the print head with THAT blocked color cart remove. You then ATTEMPT to inject the cleaning fluid directly into the channel and if you do it forcibly you will delaminate the print head and will be the end of the story. You can only do this on an epson printer with cartridges that float on the print head carriage and Nothing else.
I have a epson 2200 that was gifted to me and three of the color don't even register at all . I couldn't tell you the last time it was ran do you think it is savable with this and many other soakings ? is it worth trying?
@@cheo1949 okay ill give it a go. i'm working 7 days a week right now so i have plenty of printer down time ill start by soaking the head with a towel then proceed to syringe purge and sitting for some time . Thanks for the reply and your time . Great videos !!!!!
Does this printer have carts that ride on top of the print head? Or are they stationary? I use flexible rubber surgical tubing which can seal onto normal Epson print head ink stems perfectly.
It has carts that ride on top of the print head. I do not have access to surgical tubing. How would I buy it? Amazon? I had ordered the aquarium tubing on Amazon - waited 3 days for it to come. I had originally preformed the soaked paper towel method of cleaning in your other video. It worked for a day and then went back to printing with lines. Tried this and it has made it worse. The ink cartridges are now 'out of ink' from trying to fix this thing. I'm debating whether or not I should shell out the $300 bucks and get a new printer.
Don't play around any longer and simply get this adapter. It should fit directly where the carts sit and one by one with a plain tipped syringe you can inject cleaner into each color channel.
my Epson L355 magenta is totally blocked, but not on the port that you would connect a hose to, I think. It seems the problem is on the underside, where it touches the paper. what do you think? what should I do? thank you
Jose Rodriguez I'm not using third party carts. pretty sure it's because of months of non-use. By cleaning cycle, you mean something from the Epson utility? the clean print head option?
I should also tell you that I've injected cleaner thru all four inlet ports - cyan, magenta, black, yellow - and the cleaner can pass thru them except the magenta. I've left the tube there for up to a week and it's still clogged. Are you sure cleaning cycle is the only option left?
Hey Jose. Question for you. R320. Light Cyan. Cleaning and print nozzle check. The check for all other colors are great. But the Light Cyan. Half the top lines/bars are gone and the bottom is about 75% printed. Did manual clean a few times. Now the top half print bars 60% and the bottom lines are almost gone. And really after printing page test 6 color bars long full page. The print bar will be gone top and the bottom are coming back. What going on here? And where can I order that $25 adapter? Even as I use one refillable cartilage. as only cleaner
The adapter is from Inkrepublic I think! Are you using refillable carts by any chance? If so then check your LC for the correct priming level. A varying result of nozzle check is always due to air due to a refillable that is not providing enough ink flow because of insufficient priming!
Thanks, will see site. I use the tube and a full refillable cart and put syringe on top and push cleaner in. I like the all in one syringe there. But do wonder how long the gasket will last. I use CIS, refillable's mostly. Can you say why the LC print check of print-head prints top bars but not bottom half LC only. ALL other colors are fine. I run clean, test, it will print bottom half of bars and not top? It witches and prints top but not bottom. It like witching back and forth from bottom half to top half. But mostly prints bottom half of bars. Than LC will fade all out printing a full LC page. I've use CIS, Refillable, and new LC carts. Same issue. All other colors print fine. I do see LC ink in tubing sucking well running a cleaning. So I feel the ink post is seating on the CIS.
I bought this lime 10 years ago. I would simply just use a plain tipped syringe and tubing that will fit your print head inlet ports. Remember this is a dangerous process and only for EPSON printers that use carts that ride on the Print head carriage.
@@cheo1949 Thanks Jose! It prints fine if I do a head cleaning first, but I'm tired of doing that. I print once every 2 to 4 weeks. The Epson is 4 years old and has only had Epson ink.
The problem is really lack of use. Printing every 2-4 weeks just isn't enough to keep those nozzles constantly cleared. You also never told me the model printer. Also performing this operation will cause a purge / cleaning cycle to occur every time I you perform it. As you would have flushed the print head with cleaning fluid and ink has to now flush it out. That would still only be a temporary cure. Printing often is the cure.
I have tried this on my Epson SP R2000. The print was firing on the matte black, photo black and gloss optimizer only, all other colors were clogged. After first attempt magenta and orange became unclogged. Tried 4 attempts but still the other colors, yellow, red, and cyan after a nozzle check remain 95% blocked. Can you give any further suggestions. Thanks!
That'll do it. New of old, not using it for six will prove fatal most times. Don't give up yet. Do time doing the direct treatment but he very delicate with it. Push a little bit of cleaner and pull back a bit. Push in a bit and pull back a bit. Then finish by push an ml or two and retest with inks.
@@awincyglassndesign Install a piece of hose on the ink inlet to the print head and fill it with the solution. Let that slowly drip into the print head to soften the clog. If that does not work look for the service manual online for your printer and consider removing the print head from the printer so it can be soaked in the cleaning solution for a few days. That dried ink will eventually losen up and get you back to like new operation.
You can not lush cleaner into a stationary printer. I had your model and ruined it trying just that. Syringes can be obtained from any ink seller or my Amazon store. Link is on the video descriptio.
When that happens and everything prints BLANK though it operates as if everything is normal that means either you have absolutely zero ink in the system or the mother board is no longer communicating with the printhead. It's happen to me. Time for a new printer.
That's what printing at home is all about. You knew that right?

@@cheo1949 yes and no my friend... Epson printers are prone to clog in 1 to 2 days even when brand new out of the box. I had hp printers in the past and not one time has this ever happen. Having to exchange 6 times of extreme clogging on literally few days old epson printer is ridiculous. They need to come up with new design because this design is obviously flawed and it makes the printer company crazy amount of money when cleaning the print head drains out all of your ink resulting in you having to buy more. 5 cleaning cycle = empty cartridge on a new one.
You da man!
Thanks you!
Dear Friend, I have the same problem on my Epson Artisan 1430, so please reply where you get the same cleaning means as were shown?
Hey Jose. When the print-head is docked. With power off. Push the white plate on left side metal wall behind of the ink box, between the upper and lower yellow belt to unlock the print-head,
Thanks! That will be possible on some printers but not all of them.
I was only talking about that R340 at the time. But this works on R300, R320 R340 and the R580 as I recall.
If you mean the way I refilled the Epson original carts? The valves are no longer being sold. Your only option is refillable third-party carts.
So I am trying this as I don't want to buy a digital printer, hope it works for me.😁
Good luck. Jamming could be caused by worn out rollers. You would need a new printer.
Dear Jose Rodriguez, it was very interesting to see your video lesson, but unfortunately I have no such means for cleaning my Artisan 1430 printer.
What do you mean???
@@cheo1949 Thank you for reply. I mean a syringe, pipe, liquid and so on. I looked on Ebay, a lot of stuff there, which ones to chose? And else I do not understand physically, why white horizontal lines appeared across black letters from right to left and top to down of page. Thank you again.
@@davidbenyukhis5106 you can find all the easily on eBay or Amazon.

Good video Jose -- a guy asked you a question below, that I'd like to
know -- do you have the exact link where to get that adapter ? Sure
would be helpful. Are the adaptors still available ? What is the name
and size description to make sure you get the right adaptor.
You say use a syringe with tubing attached -- but everything has to fit,
so what size of tubing ? and will the syringe head fit into it. I wonder
if the receiving nipples on "all" Epsons are the same Jose ? Problem I'm
having is finding the right size tubing -- where do you get it, and how do
you know if you have the right size? Right now I'm using the plastic tube
from the inside of a windex bottle that fits perfectly. Problem is you can't
get much force with a syringe with a skinny little tip, to try and exert some
pressure. Maybe surgical rubber tubing is the answer ? This Windex tube
is the exact fit -- very rigid and stiff, and I plan to blow with my mouth to
create some pressure. I'll do this til I find a better idea ??
I have an Epson Stylus CX 4800 that prints beautifully, when it's working,
but right now the test results show broken lines on all colors, and I ran
about 10 head cleanings, and now getting blank pages ? Maybe I ran the
unit out of ink, as that's what head cleaning does.
Anyways, your video is great Jose -- but it seems that everything always
looks easy on RUclips, til you try it yourself. I think the major problem
is having the right size and type of tubing, and right size of syringe to
make this all work out.
'
If there's a product description or link you can give me to buy that adaptor
I'd sure appreciate it. thanks -- Robert in Canada
It was purchased about 10 years ago from www.inkrepublic.com
Where can I get a syringe like the one in video to clean print head
5:00 pay attention not to spray windex on the encoder strip behind the carriage unit :)
I've done this several times on so many epsons, great video friend
Some months ago i've made a DIY of that, made from a compatible cartridge and some other things XD
Yeah 3 printhead cleanings is like a purge for a new printhead for taking out the shipping fluid :)
+Jose Rodriguez Friend, just ordered refillables for the WF-4640DTWF, tuesday they will arrive and I'll let you know if they work :)
+ADCSFXworks Printing Center Awesome! Do a video on the I itial refilling process for the world to see! I will hopefuly get that printer in a couple of month!
Okay I will do :3
Would I be able to do this on an epson r3000 considering the cartridges are away from the printhead?
Great demo same concept for the 7900 series?
Probably but remember those big printer insides are tilted toward you and not flat like the 3800. Check out videos from inkjetmall.com
Jose Rodriguez thank you Jose.
Hi jose. aah wished I seen this vid before ordering , this morning a printer heads cleaner for my Epson R2400.
At the end you mention the possibility of air locks. How would you fix those?
Thank you for your channel and thank you for your answer!
i cannot believe it worked... THANK YOU!!!!!!
Believe me. Windex doesn't need any more ammonia. It's strong enough for the purpose of unclogging printers.
Where did you get that tubing? Another diy video stated aquarium airline tubing but that was slightly too big. I was unable to get a tight fit on the nozzle although it was a tight fit on the syringe.

Model gas airplane fuel line. Or surgical rubber tubing. Aquarium pump.thing is stiff and thin walled. The ID is to large.
Am I wrong?
You left out the most important detail. What printer are you talking about?
Openly, my printer works now, and I don't care much if I have to waste more ink than needed, but I am completely puzzled about this situation (which might help others too), but to which I have not been able to find any reasonable explanation.

windex? is that a glass cleaner?
Good video but I have my cartridges separate from the printhead. (WP-4530). You said there is another way to clean the printers with fixed cartridges. How would I do that? Thanks in advance
Clearing a clogged print head on one of those printers requires disassembly of the printhead dampers. Not for the weak of stomach.
And how did it get that way? Also you do not say what printer.
John Coops I tried that. days, even weeks. still clogged. any other tips?

Original Epson carts are being used. I had a feeling it may have died. :(
What to do with it now, I hate to just put it in the trash?

The WF printers are usually for office work which I think use stationary ink carts so a CISS would be kind of redundant. Please clarify a bit more.
WHERE YOU GET THAT FLUID???? MY COUNTRY DOESN'T HAVE IT. usually i use thinner to clean it
What????? Paint thinner? That is one quick way to destroy your print head and printer. Find Window cleaner that has low percentage of ammonia. Stop using thinner.

how to clean just one printcard
Hi, will this work with pigment inks as well? Thanks
Yes these techniques will work on pigment ink printers.

The 3/16 tubing doesn't fit with the Epson Workforce 630. I have no clue what size I'm supposed to get. Just wasted a week trying to clean this thing.
Does this printer have carts that ride on top of the print head? Or are they stationary? I use flexible rubber surgical tubing which can seal onto normal Epson print head ink stems perfectly.
Or you can get the adapter I use from www.inkrepublic.com

It seems the problem is on the underside, where it touches the paper. what do you think? what should I do? thank you
You mean the print head? Then it's clogged. Cleaning cycles is your only fix here. If you are using third party carts then that is the cause.
Yes.
You have a badly clogged magenta channel. I take it this is only a 4 color printer?
You can use a plain tipped syringe with a piece or Rubber tubing the will fit the ink stem on the print head. No need for the adapter.
I know thanks. I like the all in one there. I could cut an older cart and make one.
I know thanks. I like the all in one there.
Will this work for sublimation printer? Epson wf 7110 ciss
Maybe. But sublimation inks are different.
Where can I find the cleaning kit with the rubber tube?
@@cheo1949 It's a Workforce 3540 but yes, you're right about the cause of the problem.

After first attempt magenta and orange became unclogged. Tried 4 attempts but still the other colors, yellow, red, and cyan after a nozzle check remain 95% blocked. Can you give any further suggestions. Thanks!
Direct injection into the Print head is pretty much the end of the road. It either works or does not. How did the printer get so clogged?
I had it sitting unused for about six months. Had no idea that was the worst thing I could have done. The printer was fairly new...not much use.
Jose Rodriguez Thank you, I’ll keep trying. I’ll update you as to how it goes.
Do you have a procedure for the stationary type printers like the Artisan 837 and where do you buy the syringes
You can not lush cleaner into a stationary printer. I had your model and ruined it trying just that. Syringes can be obtained from any ink seller or my Amazon store. Link is on the video descriptio.
You can achieve the same with 0.4ml of water mixed with 0.5 ml of 100% alcohol. Costs like 0.30cents and does the same thing!
Good luck people!
My Epson t60 is printing blank pages after this process please help
When that happens and everything prints BLANK though it operates as if everything is normal that means either you have absolutely zero ink in the system or the mother board is no longer communicating with the printhead. It's happen to me. Time for a new printer.
@@cheo1949 any solution bro
Yes. New printer.
THANKS :)
You're welcome!
Cleaning cycle = empty ink. Empty ink = $$$$$$$$$$$ when you have to buy more
That's what printing at home is all about.
It's a scam if you ask me....
Wow! To be honest on my EPSON photo printers 13" and up I can go mkre than two weeks which rare for me and not experience clogs. Pmus they use large volume carts. My old R340 in the video does have small capacity carts and yes jt needs to be used daily.
Sounds pretty crappy. That's why I stay away from the non pro models.
No good work
Why?
