Absolutely amazing comprehensive video! Such a great breakdown of key notes. The one I always am trying to decipher is if there if a difference between aquatic notes, sea notes, and marine notes.
I love patchouli, something I never would have expected after smelling it so much in college. If you can find it, the patchouli standout I recommend is Tom Ford's Patchouli Absolut. It is indeed an assertive, "absolute" scent that smells very close to pure patchouli, but for me it is smoothed out enough that it doesn't hit too squarely on the nose.
Hello love the Chanel , new to the fragrance community I recently went to a Le Labo store and sampled they’re new scent “Lavande 31” I’d love to see a video of you’re opinion on this fragrance and if you have any other more affordable alternatives in regards to this scent, me personally I really loved that scent have never smelled something like that.
I like the smell of vanilla but I think its more for women. I also like the "leather" scent, and my gf and mother both liked my colognes with leather in them. Imo
A note i don't see in many perfumes and i can't really get my head around it is cumin. I tried Azzaro WBN and hated it on first wear... Went better the second time around. There is something weird about that one
Declaration EDT is notorious for it. If you want to grasp exotic spice notes then go peruse an imported foods store. Cumin is a slender seed with a very potent savory stench. If you eat it in foods like curry your sweat will start to smell like it. When it's used sparingly in things like WBN it adds a slight animalic tilt to other notes, to the point I can't really separate it. Heavy cumin just smells like a Delhi train station in Summer. Caraway is roughly the same thing. YSL La Nuit de l'Homme is a good example of that being used in a spicy night scent if you want to compare it to Wanted by Night.
The AdG Profumo is discontinued, or at least hard to find. Is it that far off from the Parfum version? I heard they were very close. Looking for the more mature version of AdG.
Can tobacco note smells NOTHING like a smoker? I have been dodging tobacco religiously because trying replica jazz club was VERY overwhelming smoker smell, ty!
Pretty much all the really popular tobacco scents go the route of sweet cherry/buttery tobacco leaf. They smell more like a cigar humidor. Bentley MI and Jazz Club have the smoldering ash stink. Try just about anything else. Man in Black, Herod, Red Tobacco, Zaharoff Signature Tabac, Spicebomb, The One... it's a long list.
@@triceratopstree The original EDT is the best blended and smells through and through of reserved tobacco. Extreme is a sugar bomb of vanilla and the other flankers deviate into fruit and nut notes.
Armaf radical brown smells just like cherry pipe tobacco and Azzaro Wanted by Night smells like sweet tobacco with cinnamon and mandarin orange. I have them both and people love them.
I figured that they seem to have more than Mancera n that was a long video. Perhaps do a video of what you think is the best in their line. Happy holidays for Turks and Caicos Islands 🇹🇨
I’m somewhat surprised to see a Dior fragrance being promoted in this video. In the comments section of your “Don’t buy these popular fragrances, buy these instead” video, you posted a comment that people should boycott ‘relevant brands’. Dior was a ‘relevant brand’ I think?
@@miklas.k If that's the case, removing iris from the video would be more logical. It's a bit weird to insist to boycott Dior and then tell people they should buy Dior one video later
@@miklas.k Prada L’homme could be one. Like many of us, fragrance is a hobby for me and I’m interested in learning about all fragrances, by all brands. Omar produces some of the very best content in this fragrance space on RUclips, absolutely no question. I would put Omar and George (Fragrance Apprentice) at the very top of the fragrance content producers. My preference would be for all brands to be discussed on the channel based on the merits of the fragrances that they produce however, suggesting people should boycott certain brands whilst at the same time producing content that promotes those very same brands is inconsistent to me.
This is definetly the kind of video I want to see! Very helpful.
Ordered Mr Majestic because plum is my favourite note and hoped it would arrive around my birthday. It didn’t arrive around it, it arrived on it! 🥰
Love that 👌 Happy Birthday! 🎉
@@SchoolOfScent Thank you 🙏 Great fragrance 😊
I loved your videos man , can you do a video for best Xerjoff fragrances that are more masculin , that would be very awesome to see
Excellent video. True 'school of scent' type content. Would love to see more.
Very nice and highly useful descrptions of fragrance notes. As for the examples - they are good starting points! Well done!

This is super helpful. I’ll be referencing this as I’m just starting to look into purchasing fragrances.
Super helpful! Had no idea what ambroxen (spelling?) was, but was hearing it a lot.
Thanks! Glad it was useful, and it’s spelled ‘Ambroxan’. 😊
A special request from a loyal fan from Somaliland. Please do "top 10 sweet loud projecting winter fragrances".
One love
Liked the Encre Noire Extreme suggestion for the patchouli note.
Re: the vetiver note, I would also add Encre Noire Sport as a budget option.
I can't wait to get my hands on the new Encre Indigo, I'm so impressed with the entire line.
Thanks Omar for the thorough video. Can we have another one but for more advanced level?
See the video at the end screen of this video 😊
Could you do a tour of your collection? I would love to see what fragrances you have.
For the note of Vetiver,
I'd choose Terre D'Hermes Eau Intense Vetiver for beginners, and Sultan Vetiver for Pros! :D
Very helpful. Will order decants of these to explore thanks!

Bentley Intense will always be my favorite boozy leather!

I don't remember if he covered Lavande 31 specifically but he has done a Le Labo buying guide where he reviews a bunch of Le Labo fragrances.
@@ChadYu no this one wasn’t released at the time
For the Chanel legal team, please note the typo: "Channel" was intended instead of "Chanel".
Are we all good? 😅

Great idea. Thank you!
this should be a series
Great video , Omar . Thank you 👍🏻
No one is doing such content, everyone is about review etc.. this is proper education around scent
Great video with some great choices in there and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
I would have love to get a sandalwood entry
ADP Sandalo 👌 although it is mature and is intensely focused on the note
I really like how you explain the scents, can you do a review of Boss motion 2022. I want to blind buy it online but I am not quite sure.
Can yall give me an opinion on the last one that tobacco note ?
now this is one unique video
Hi Omar just an idea u can do videos on brands we should boycott and their alternatives
Did it recently

indeed the feeling i had on first wbn wear was like a weird smell, more similar to being sweaty than a pleasant smell@@phantomspaceman
Which of your frangrances is classed as blue one I love those types
Mr Fragrant, but it also has an intense ‘greenness’ to it

Id say its better
Its very very close to the og profumo . In the dry down its basically the same . I will purchase a bottle soon
School is in session-
5 years too late for me!
Usefull video

Great vid. Too many oud fragrances. They all smell the same. Im sick of oud

U frgt about oud
