You're right to some extent. In a race against friends consistency is better, however have you seen Scrapmans videos when he goes for Top 0.01% on leaderboards? All those vehicles prioritize speed of stability, that's how you become number 1!
I'd like to see evolution where you can decide if you evolve your own or the winner's build. With always evolving the winner, and only having 1 minute, you're bound to end up with almost the same every time. Would be nicer with a more diverse cast of builds and a bit more build time, to actually be able to optimize and get the most out of your design idea. Always using the winner build and then speedrunning the build process takes out a lot of the creative design solutions in the competition.
So kAN wins the ultimate race, Scrapman has the best time overall time, and it was the Professors car that eeryone else was based off. Poor Yzuei has nothing to show for this.
You guys rely on gyros way too much :P I swear half of the glitchy movement you experienced was down to them. Functional suspension and braking would go a long way to helping.

Adaptive Evolution Challenge. Build a basic car for a basic race. After that, two random races are selected and you have maybe 1:30 - 2:00 minutes to make your vehicle capable of completing both races. The points system is the 4 3 2 1 system where everyone still gets points. However, if you are unable to complete a race, you get a -1. And when I say random I mean you could have a situation where, for example, you have to adapt a street racing boat into a flying submarine, and then adapt that into an off road hovercraft, and so on.
I like how the first Design Choice to bite the dust after Round 1 was the F1 Halo Seat. I wonder if the Halo Seat is gonna become the Motorcycle Seat of the F1 Car Build archetype...?
the drifting/power slide is the fastest way that F1 goes around the tracks, the fastest way around the turns is through slip angle, letting the back end step out just enough so the drivers can keep their steering wheel as straight as possible
Next time you end with a car that just feels completely perfect so early, what you should do is the unexpected and just leave it completely unedited for the next round (using your time to make a concept plan for the evolution round afterwards, or even the round after that, just in case a round shows you want to upgrade for the round afterwards). Using fewer powercores than the round allows is allowed, right? Sure, it goes against the evolution idea, but it'd be a pretty hilarious twist to see if you can bring that car all the way to the end, while those who do upgrade their car have a tougher time (meaning more mistakes) due to having to play catch-up from missed round(s) of upgrades.
Day 3: Flying rocket sumo(scrap mechanic). Take the rocket sled from your last sumo, and put color sensors and a bomb on them. When you hit a painted wall, you explode. Ramps on the ground for takeoff.

How about another take on evolution? 1st round starts as normal. the second round forward is where it is slightly different. Everyone copies the winners car as and edits it as usual, but the winner has to use it as is. Maybe allow minor tweaks such as aerodynamics, weight adjustments and various settings, but otherwise the winner of the round keeps the previous vehicle. If he wins again with the (mostly) original vehicle, it's a "failed" evolution, and everyone tries again to build a car that will beat it.

You should do another race and make the cars have "tire wear". Basically a timer and you have to pit every so many laps to refuel. You could probably have a couple different versions of the cars that havw different tire types and longevities too
I built a really cool f line car with rocket engines. For boosters, it has a great car. I built it today. It is amazing. The new update's pretty cool because I just got the dlc. I have every dlc now except 2 which I don't really want. But anyways, it is really cool. It works pretty good. It goes 217 miles per hour. Its launching speed is probably like 0 to 60 In a second, if you don't put on the jet thrusters, then you we'll probably go 9 to And maybe about 2 seconds, 5 seconds, probably not 5 seconds, more than likely, 3 seconds. It is a very quick accelerating car. It also could drift. It also has a mode to add more downsforce, in case if the race requires more downforce, if the race is more like a drag. Race, then you turn it into drag race mode and turn off the downforce mode, turning it into a Drag Racing car. Sometimes you won't need to downforce, and sometimes you could use it if it's just a flat surface. But if your turning corner is extremely fast, you want to use the downforce mode which typically will keep you onto the ground. My back wheels more importantly, onto the ground in the jet thrusters, angle up to push the front down, and the back wing will go up to the up. Push the backdown. It perfectly balances out the car. It drifts really well, if you don't want it to drift and you could just go around the corner very slowly, but you have to hit the brake, but in order to counter that in loose speed, I decide to use gyrost in order to make it more controllable and not spin out. Randomly, and it makes it so I could drift, it works really, really well and I love it, it looks great too. I built it to trick my friends on thinking that I don't have any rocket thoughts. As there is, but I want to restaum, but I want to win and I'm going to put the win and I'm going to say that. There is no rocket thrusters or any thrusters of some sort and then use them in my car. Even if they inspect it, they can't see them cause they are hidden away tightly, so people may think that my car is gonna be weak. But as soon as they start catching up, I can just turn them on and then I'll be out only issues. I cannot launch. Because as soon as I click that button except make it so I could launch in a second. It will show the rocket engines were not rocket engines.Space thrusters.Overall, it's a great vehicle
You shouldn't include a time limit, or at least make it longer. It'll be much more entertaining to see more thought out builds. The power core limit it enough. Maybe you could do something like a bonus for the first to finish, or penalty for last to finish, so everyone is still motivated to build fast.

A version without the wings does hold 3rd spot in the A class highjump last i checked though.

Yeah, but working suspension is a pain in TM. Especially if you only have 2 mins to build. You get more consistent results with the gyro.

What determines your ability to take turns is how good your downforce to weight ratio is.

I dislike gyros so much. It simplifies the build process to the point where half of the game’s physics mechanics are basically irrelevant.
