And don't forget to join us as The National WWII Museum concludes the 16th International Conference on World War II with a special hourlong session on the making of "Masters of the Air," providing an inside look into the upcoming Apple TV+ miniseries about the men of the Eighth Air Force's 100th Bombardment Group during World War II. Based on the acclaimed book by historian Donald L. Miller, PhD, the series reunites "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific" executive producers Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman.

Grandfather was a ball turret gunner then moved up to radio operator. Flew out of Libya, Italy and England between 1943-45. I can’t thank these guys enough for producing this series and trying to understand the horrors my grandfather dealt with for 2.5 years starting when he was just 18.
As excited as I am to see this it isn't without intrepidation as I knew so many of them. Sadly all the 8th A.A.F. men I knew so well have all passed away which may stir things up abit. In fact it's in their honor that I very much desire this series be equal to if not far exceed the previous 2. People should know what these men accomplished, how they endured for the cause of freedom and their sacrifice. If the last 2 series are any kind of clue to the level of realism we can expect the impact they'll surely feel. Many a heart will become heavy realizing the horrific cost of the air war over Europe.
My granduncle was a B17 Pilot over Italy during the war glad to see this being made!

No , looks too much like Hollywood in past movies and bad CGI , I will pass. Not SPR or BOB worthy.

@@susanbarco2579 Idk Susan, I haven't seen it, I will wait till its all released. Believe me I honor all WWII airmen, have for 50 years. I do love that this has been made to remember them.I hope this is as good as BOB in remembering them as they should have been.
