    I love how honest this channel is with talking about the car. Instead of trying to sugar coat and play into the carbon wheels you really just say it how it is. Appreciate the honesty. Many people can get a bit jaded by the price tag after the purchase and see things through rose colored glasses.

    Hey Phil Im in south PA. I have a 2019 GT350R(KR711). As far as the wheels I wanted to get a setup where I could drive the car on those cold sunny days when the roads were clear of snow and salt. I ordered a set of LMR SVE R350s as my winter/early spring set with a set of Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s. I went with 305s front and 325s rear. Discount Tire in Martinsburg WV took care of the transition flawlessly without any touchless mounters. Love the feel and the OEM look that it retains. No more tram lining whatsoever. Best 3000$ I spent. Thats less than half the cost of a CF wheel and tire!

    I am with you on the comments about how it depends where you live on whether or not it is worth it to have something like this. I live in the Orlando area. Sold my GT350 a few years ago as it just sat in the garage. Very few roads around here worth driving, and just a ton of traffic. Tired of dealing with that ad the tramlining all the time, so I sold it. Some days I miss it, but was right decision for me.

      Hi Ryan I did do a bunch of paint correction videos on the GT350R I did post some clips on my IG feed but the audio got all messed up and I gave up trying to fix it. this winter I plan to redo the car anyway because I did not get good results from the Cquartz UK coating I applied so I need to painstakingly polish it off completely and I may try a Kamikazze coating or omit a coating and stick with a hybrid wax and use my Auto Fanatic 007 Ceramic for upkeep which seems to work awesome as it does on all my cars.

I got the 4S on today and WOW its a huge difference on the street the Cup2 made me dread driving the car around here. Once i put more miles on the car il have more feeback but so far it now feels like my 2017 GT350. I still love the look of the Cup2 with the smooth stretch sidewalls but the tradeoffs are simply not worth it.

      @@autofanaticcars I did a deep dive on the subject, mostly on the GT350 section of the Mustang 6G forum. I believe it was Billy Johnson who recommended this setup for the street (he was one of the drivers involved in the development of the GT350/R). I use my Cup2 for the track, but otherwise, run the 10mm narrower PS4S on the street, and it's fantastic. I'll see if I can find a say to shoot over some pics from when I first changed them out in December of last year.
      edit: I just send a message via your site, reply and I'll be glad to send back pics of LR268 with the PS4S on her.

    Phil I live on Long Island, ordered and bought a 19GT350R (KR072) at sticker. Love your videos. It's the most amazing car I've ever owned. First thing I did was get a set of PS4S (305/325) on a copy of the GT350R wheels (GR6). The car is fantastic! At Road Atlanta I hit 171 mph on the back stretch on the PS4S tires. The Carbon Fibre wheels are on a shelf in my garage - couldn't stand the SC2s. Don't ever sell the 350R - you'll never get another car like it. Not the GT500, not a Corvette, not even a GT3 Porsche. Every once in a while a car manufacture its the mark so perfectly, it can't be duplicated. Like my 67 Supercnharged Shelby GT350, 70 Boss 302, 73 Pantera, 86 SVO, 13 Boss 302 Laguna Seca, and finally the 19 Shelby GT350R. The 5 year limited run production is the first clue that only a few savvy enthusiasts will ever get this opportunity. And you were the first owner! I'm truly biased to Mustangs and exotic Fords, but there's no denying the voodoo powered GT350R is one of Ford's true gems regardless of price or future value.

    Curious what tires you’re thinking to go with. For what you’re wanting out of the car, I’d suggest something with a softer sidewall. The Conti Extremecontact Sport is probably a solid choice for what you’re looking for. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is also a good choice, but for you, might not be #1 as they are just a touch more on the “performance” side up from the Conti. Both are very similar, but the Conti edges a touch more for daily driving and rougher roads. If you want something that is more all-season, hands down look at the Conti ExtremeContact DWS 06+.
    Having wide wheels and the scrub on such cars as the GT350, it’s going to be hard getting away from the tramlining. Have you tried less camber up front? If you stay something -2.0 or under it can help. You definitely want zero toe or just very slightly toe in (like 1/16 or ~0.2-degree total).

    Phil, if you were to sell to take advantage of today's market on these, what would you buy without having to go extreme and spend an extra 50k+ for a gt3 as you mentioned, with somewhat close to similar experience? Would Mach 1 be an option and call it a day, pocket the rest for a different kind of market?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 года назад +1

      the Mach 1 is a cool car but it seems you can get those in various specs, some are done with the Recaro race seats and Cup 2 tires and others are toned down a bit. It could be a good option or a ZL1 and I will be honest the ZL1 chassis is far better than the S550 platform but a good margin. My cousin has a nicely modded E92 M3 and il be honest it is freaking awesome but when things break it can get very costly to own

Hook up great - I can actually punch 2nd and 3rd without going sideways. if tuned right the 8 stack will make more hp ad torque but its all in how it is set up with the throttle body sizes, lengths of the plenum etc. We put these kits on 427W and they made when tuned on the dyno an extra 60+hp and a tad more torque and the sound is insane at WOT

    I have a non R GT350 with obviously a different tire and suspension set up than the R model. I did have serious tram-lining with the MPSS tires. I had the car aligned after the inner shoulders of the front tires got destroyed, well before the tires should have been replaced. The tram lining decreased significantly with only a slight loss in the front feeling as planted.

The fender to door alignment is my biggest issue. Most GT350's I've seen in person have one bad looking side and one good looking side for whatever reason. Both drivers and passengers side panel alignment looks like a blind person on their first day on the job did it. Literally! I know it's a mustang and that's all part of the car and blah blah blah, but it's bad. Really bad. Stripes you say? I can live with the stripes.

    Great video. I sold my Cup 2s the day I picked up my 2020 R Heritage Edition. I put on the 4s per the fitment recommendation of Ford Factory driver Billy Johnson--295/30/19 Front, and 305/19s in the rear. Perfect fit, and look and perform great too, and with no tramlining (largely too because the 2020 Rs have the GT500 steering knuckle). Acura dealers that sell the NSX are required to have those very expensive tire changing machines for the carbon wheels of the NSX--so that is where I go. Sorry you have such crappy roads--here in Park City--the roads are really good. Thanks for all your posts.

      @autofanaticcars  2 года назад

      I have installed many Inglese systems on 427 motors and LS motors the issue with doing this on a late model car is the electronics and can bus system I have spoken to so many tuners and engineers and they all say it cant be done without massive time and money to develop it. The way it would need to work is a stand alone ECU would need to control the engine and the factory ECU would need to control the rest of the car with the engine parameters blocked out to still function. the hardware does bolt right on it is the electronics as the bottleneck of me doing it and I think by now so many others would have done this to their cars. I hope to find or get someone who is willing to tackle it I think it would make this car even more special.

    If you're looking for an extra little bump in power, just get headers and a Lund Racing tune for the car should pick up around 30 wheel horsepower and you'll get much more throttle response instead of being a test mule for some weird company trying to tune 8 throttle bodies and 8 MAF sensors.
    Edit: I see it's one MAF sensor on the Coyote kit but still, you're much better off with just a tune and the fact it honestly just isn't worth the time and the money to invest in a super niche motor with an even more obscure fuel injection system. Unless you go full racecar with MOTEC or something like that I don't think it's possible with these engines especially keeping the VCT intact.
