In this video, we look at the Reddit challenge from 2020/21 which stated, that you only need 5 bourbons. We, at The Whiskey Cove, accepted this challenge and took it to a liquor store with a $200 budget!

I’ve been in a few different Costco liquor stores and this one has the biggest selection I’ve seen by far.

I would love to get my hands on a JD Single Barrel Barrel Proof but I haven't seen a bottle here in Rhode Island. I've heard great things about it. Costco in PA doesn’t sell liquor, wine or beer. Looking at the selection and prices on this video, I wish they did. Would have grabbed a JDBP and that KY Owl rye!! Cheers

Costco was a PERFECT store to do this in. That store's inventory closely mirrors what I have in my area. Great help. You already covered Total Wine and Costco. This should be a great help to the community. I guess next store would be a regional liquor store chain like Binny's or Bevmo. Don't know if you have one there but go for it. After that one I say go to a Mom n Pop store that give them some shine too.

I just started collecting this year. So far Ive collected, Screwball, Knobb Creek 9 & Isaiah Craig Straight Rye. Where on the list should I put these.
I like Angels Envy regular stuff but their rum cask rye has a sweet finish from the rum cask which a lot of folks say is off putting, for me it was just OK. The closest Costco for me is in Springfield and they usually have a decent selection but the Sam's across town has a much better one if you want the 750 ml bottles.

I live in bourbon country and our Costco doesn't have nearly the selection as this one. OMG...I can't find a JD Barrel Proof anywhere here...much less any Ky Owl. Nice choices...

Man, wish my Costco had a fraction of that! Occasionally they have a decent bottle.
They rotate a lot of what they have at this location but this day was very good.
@@TheWhiskeyCove my selection is about a tenth of that and I’m lucky if they have regular Angel’s Envy and a JD regular Single Barrel. Got lucky once with the Wild Turkey Rare Breed. I was told our alcohol purchaser isn’t interested in expanding the stores selection. And it’s not like I’m in a rural area, I’m in The LA area.

Most of a SoCal Costco’s whiskey and bourbon selection are mediocre at best. Got a tip today Costco had a Weller 12 for $70. Went and was fortunate enough to snag one. Keep up the great content!

How in the world is Sagamore Double Oaked 47.99?!! I can't even sniff it for less then 63$ in New England. Hell the total wines in MD have it for 65$. You might have just sold me a Costco membership lol

Canadian as a mixer is my only disagreement. Other than that, loved the video :)
For $8 per 750ml for a 6-year Canadian is insane value for money. I find that Canadian Whiskey has more of a bite to it than bourbon. It was this or Jack Daniels number 7 and that would have been 3 jack Daniels bottles. I just couldn't do it. Thanks for the comment and support as always ipad!
@@TheWhiskeyCove I'm not a Canadian fan but I get where you're coming from. Plus JD#7, for me, isn't a good mixer. It has a singular taste that tends to overpower a drink. Again, just me.

Costco Canadian is better than Crown. However, Sams Cliub liqueur prices are much better than Costco. $6-10/ bottle cheaper.
Yep I don’t disagree with you there. I saw some prices at Sam’s and it’s so cheap. Only issue I have is their selection is usually smaller.

I wasted my money on a George Dickle Barrel Select. It was horrible, will never buy GD again.
The 8 year bourbon is a great offering. Not sure about those barrel selects though. I see them sitting on shelves forever.
