I remember the day I saw it on Netflix and decided to give it a shot. From the cover art I thought it was some kinda weird animated show but I got to reading the description and gave it a shot. The rest is history. Now one of my favorite shows of all time!
Good grief, I can be slow. In the "change the conversation" talk, what was he doing? He was talking excuses from a potential client about why they didn't want to work with him... and he changed the conversation. He's like a magician explaining the trick right on front of us... BUT IT'S STILL MAGIC!
The most frustrating thing is the total cultural misunderstanding of the "I don't think about you at all" scene. The entire episode is about Don obsessing over Ginsberg's talented challenge to his ego, and his inability to share the spotlight or nurture that talent. It's a great putdown but the point of the line is that it's a lie.
"I give you money." Yikes a boss like this is shit. You get thanks from clients who actually pays you the money, while your boss who takes the big cut from it don't.
Some of these quotes are weak. When don was gettin his hat and the hippy stoners wer telling him theres cops out there you cant go out right now, he said " you cant" and then dom left. That was a powerful ass scene. Don was just stating a fact though and nothing relevant to his status or power. But just a scene demonstrating the character he built isn't challenged by the low points that the middle or lower class may face.
“Whats happiness? It’s the moment before you need more happiness.”
This is the one that immediately came to mind.
Do you wanna wipe the blood from your mouth?
You’re happy with 50%? You’re not HAPPY with ANYTHING! Cause you don’t want most of it, you want ALL OF IT!
So dopamine basically
THATS WHAT THE MONEYS FOR!
At work, less thank you and more money it is totally fine.
Missed maybe the most iconic. Don to his half brother - I have a life, and it only moves in one direction. Forward
"There is no big lie. There is no system. The universe is indifferent."
-"The police, you can't go down there" -"YOU can't".
It Will Shock You How Much It Never Happened
He wasn’t lying.
I don’t remember what the situation was w Peggy for Don to say this…
@@siobhanmulvey it was when he went to see her after she gave birth
The number 1 imo: How do you sleep at night? On a bed made of money.
I like that one too
The “I don’t think about you at all” was pulled directly from the fountainhead
Now I am going to have to rewatch or re-read The Fountainhead.....
@@johnpsalinger173 Don't waste your time. It's a story about how evil it is to help the public written by a hypocrite who took welfare.
When he tells Ginsberg "I don't think about you at all," it proves he thinks about him a lot.
How’s that?🤨
Lol what? Ginsberg is a nobody. He could be fired and replaced before the day is out. When Don said that he meant it.
Where is (to Pete)" Slow down I don't want to wake up pregnant"
Love that one😂
"The day you sign a client is the day you start losing them' belongs to Roger
The universe is indifferent. Oh man that had to have stung for those hippies.
Beatniks, but yes what a zinger
why did you have to say that man
Surprised that “I’m not here to tell you about Jesus, either he lives in your heart or he doesn’t” didn’t make it
Hahah
Forward is a mantra I use in my life every day
“Enjoy the rest of your Life… cereal”
“This is where I grew up”
"You can't frame a phone call"
"The universe is indifferent"
Mad Men is criminally underrated.

God scary watching season 1 seeing how young Don and Pete both looked
“You can’t”

Theres police you can't go out there... No, YOU can't. (Heads out)
When he is lecturing the hippie: How can you sleep at night “in a bed made of money”
Peak show and dialogue and quotes.
Captivating!❤
"Shut up, Betty. You're drunk."
"I'm still waiting on my shirts!"
"Everything to you is an opportunity, and you should be thanking me every morning you wake up, along with Jesus, for giving you another day!"
No. 1 🔥🔥🔥
“Happiness is based” -Don Dripper
"I give you money." Yikes a boss like this is shit. You get thanks from clients who actually pays you the money, while your boss who takes the big cut from it don't.
Life, the cure for the common quote
The universe is indifferent - Don Draper
there is no fresh start, lives carry on
I know Don Draper because of Abed Nadir 👍
#4 is my mantra 😎
today is yesterday's tomorrow
That's what the money is for!
"I don't _have_ a contract"
Sometimes you have to dance with the one who brought ya
IM CRYINNGGG WHERE ARE PETES EYEBROWS
This never happened is literally the principal he applied to his own past
You never...fake "thank you❤"
"If you don't like what's being said, change the conversation" is actually Peggy's quote, originally!! :3
Good to see you…
You too, thank you…love me some dellor..
Like there is no tomorrow
He would definitely get my vote for the next James Bond... Not sure if his age is against him or how good he is at doing an English accent...
Its toasted
That line is so old. I can't believe people like it so much.
Age isn't always a detractor to merit.
I feel the response it gets, gives off the impression it's an original line.
No. 6 is hahaha
Sick sick sick burns
Listen, I'm not here to tell you about Jesus. That's #1.
Thats what money is for

I Bet you spent more time on your Hair then She Did.
Pretty much sums up his character, has a beautiful wife but wants more and cheats all the time lol , smh 🤦
Hate that guy!
Some of these aren't that good
Don Draper was always the worst part of that show.
Don Draper WAS that tv show
