I'm getting a Yolansin 4K with the same stats for 62 bucks. I Hope you can charge and use it at same time because you can just keep it plugged into the usb charger on your motorbike and not worry about draining the batteries. That's a must feature these camera companies can add. Also need the ability to record video on a 2 TB external hard drive or large external ssd drive. Now you not only have awesome power, you have tons more storage space for really long rides. Simple things they could do to make those cheap cameras well worth it.
I bought two. One for me and one for my brother. So we can keep souvenir of each of us riding together (me 65 Harley Ultra, him 58 spyder rt) If you can speak about SD card quality and read-write rate. Claude
i have 4 of the a79 before ive seen this review i have enough mounts to put them on everything to switch between where i need them mounted, battery life isnt bad at all, also with the cdes they give you a free accessory, whether it is a double batery charger (with 2 additional bigger mAh batteries) or filter, (i did 3 filters and a battery charger) but have been brilliant also they offered me a free extra camera in return for a review and refund the price (even for a higher end camera) very happy with what they probided, if using in a car turn the power on via usb and click record with the mount and was great! i hope to buy another 6!!!!
There was nothing wrong with the video at all. And the sound quality was certainly good enough. As you say, for the budget conscious vlogger, this is a great option.
It's the exact duplicate of the Cooau SPC06... same software, ext mic, etc. The Apeman seems to have a very slight edge on the Mic and colour saturation. I feel the Apeman still washes out colour a little but the Cooau way over sharpens and has zero fleshtones. Yes the Brave 7 is better... but at 3x's the price.
@@gregtoope It seems quite difficult to find action cams here in Austria. GoPro is everywhere. Otherwise in local tech stores is only Rollei. But the have no cam with an option for external mic. First idea was the Akaso Brave 7. In hope the audio problem is fixed. But this model is not available in Austria, also not on Amazon here. My eyes are now on the Akaso V50 Pro SE.

Purchased a new Apeman 420D dual Dashcam and within a few days a problem started. The screen kept showing “not enough storage “, bearing in mind this was a new formatted 32gb sd card and hardly driven. Format the sd card again and seemed to start working again until the “not enough storage” appeared again. Turns out it’s a common fault after searching online. Some people have flashed the latest version on and worked again or stuck with having to format every so often which could be whilst driving when you actually need no distractions and the camera to be working fine and not checking every 2 mins. Contacted Apeman and they got back to me and asked for the version I was running etc. after they wanted the receipt for purchase and offering to compensate me, they just disappeared and no more contact for last 2 weeks. They don’t care their products don’t work, simple
Just found this video. EIS looks great and remote mike sounds good. I like that the fisheye found on many action cans is not very pronounced. Put this on an inexpensive gimbal and Z axis stabilizer and you might be able to get some super satabilized indie B roll from a car/cycle mount; even on horseback.
well i have mine now stills are nice video good for just filming static eis seem ok and the mic with post editing is clear so far but no idea on the remote
Great review! I actually watched Your review on an air pump which I purchased. CYCPLUS. It works very well. I just ordered a cheap action camera but not this one. Guessing and hoping it’s similar to use. ✌️

Probably better than the Akaso EK7000, heck! A potato es better than that. I wish stabilization would be just a touch better on the Apemen, sound was fine. Hey you said in this video this was your first ride of the year, but you went out for a ride to review the Akaso Brave 7. was this review recorded before? Take care.
yes this was recorded before the Akaso Brave 7. The akaso video we wanted to get our asap as it is a new camera, The A79 has been out for some time now.
I find that the audio is actually quite bad. Their website specifically mentions that the internal mic still records even with the external mic connected, so whenever I use it, it still picks up loads of wind noise no matter where I put the external mic.
Do you have a video of how you attached this to your helmet? I have purchased one for my nephew to use skiing, and I am unsure how to strap it to his ski helmet. Thank you for this helpful video!
RE: battery door, I hate the loose door concept and would T-rex tape it on one side, JIC. Would a dime open the door? There were some clunking sounds with the mic in the first minute of ride, but that went away. Question: Can you put the waterproof housing on this cam and still use the ext mic? Not for underwater use, but for rainy days or something? If not, does anyone know of one which will allow that? Good vid, Greg. Hmm, 9/5/22 HLS HCAM10 is $59.99USD and has 70, 90, 120, and 170 view widths! EIS 3.0, 20MP, 3 batts, and the same bloody batt door. :(
I have a mic jack but did not come with a microphone, but mine came with the battery charger. Do you know which mics work with this camera? This camera is great thanks for doing this. I tried my camera and it works great for me while I ride my recumbent Trike perfect for me. I just need a mic for it and again wondering which mic to get thanks for your help.
love your content , just wondering if you have used an alternative mic on these cameras as on the motorbike i just get lots of wind noise with the noise muffler on and by my cheek and cant hear me well on video editor DB volumes turned up too . have you all so ever done a firmware update for these , all so wondering what action camera would you recommend for around the 100 mark with get quality with wide action and great sound from external mic ... thank you
Unfortunately not. but hope to do more testing on these cameras and their mics soon. We are in the process of moving so most stuff is currently packed up.
So good! Nice to see a black V-Strom too. Really appreciate seeing what a cheap camera can do for people getting started.

Nice video and review…in your opinion, as far as stabilization and audio is the A87 better or the A79, thanks again 😃😃

yeah for the price, its very hard to complain about the quality and all that you get with this camera kit.
Great little camera and the sound is better than the last camera you reviewed. For the price. 👍👍👍
Agreed!
Thanks for the video! Looking at the moment to buy my first action cam. Specific for motorcycle.

Didn't Greg say there was a software switch for no audio? Didn't that pertain to the internal?
Between Apeman A79 and A87, which one is much better than the other for vlogging? Or are they about the same?
