Same! I have got an Opel Ascona C with the 16DA engine. Quite slow but the most reliable car ever. Needs about 5-5,5 l/100km, needs no Oil (have 149.000 km, but I don't know exactly..could be 249.000 km or more too), and everything is easy to repair or service.. I also have had an Opel Kadett E with the 17D-engine. Just had 3 hp more but felt like a rocket compared with the Ascona. It had an 5-gear-gearbox and needed about 4,4-5,5 l/100 km. Had to sell it one month ago (bought it in September 2023) because I didn't need two cars, and I felt bad to use it in winter on salty roads. Bought it from a 94 yo lady who bought it new in 1990. Was a garage car with just 98.000 km!! But the Ascona is my baby and I never give him away. I think I will buy an Opel Frontera/Monterey/Campo for the next winter so I dont need to drive the Ascona during our Austrian salty winter... These 70s, 80s and 90s Opel are so lovely. Quite indestructible, very reliable and so good-looking. One day, if I find one, I will buy an Opel Ascona B 2.0D or an Opel Rekord E 2.3D or 2.3 TD. Also cool would be a Senator Comprex Diesel. Greetings from Spain I had an Opel Astra 1.7 Isuzu Turbo Diesel engine, from 1998, it has the same engine as the unit in the video but with a turbo. Regarding the engine, I did not have any problem, as for the external elements, some, but few... The starter motor failed once, the steering box had a hydraulic leak and the alternator also failed once, which caused the same failure that appears in the video unit, it does not charge, that is why the battery warning light is on and The rev counter doesn't work because it takes the signal from the alternator. As for the rust, nothing is a problem, and that he made trips to the maritime areas very frequently and from time to time to the snowy mountains ... As for the interior, the talks and adjustments hold up very well over time except for the ceiling upholstery that ended up hanging... but that is a typical fault in many cars of all makes of the time. That if my car always slept in a covered garage. And the metallic paint shone like new. I think that unit has rusty bottoms because it circulated a lot on snowy roads that had deposited salt to be able to travel them. With 170,000 km I donated it to my father who lives in a town. He practically spends 6 months resting in a garage and when summer arrives he connects the battery and starts almost instantly. In addition, he is passing all the mandatory ITV inspections to be able to circulate. In short, a good car...of which I have good memories.

Opel never died
Hi I love your videos so much
I had a Vauxhall one, the TDS model, brilliant cars!
I think this is a good one for restore, not too many investitions and it will be a good car
Great caravan. I had the same car, only with a gasoline engine X16SZR
....and the radio is still full of the 90th best!
1980s tunes. 🤩
Good job getting it running again! 😎👍
Love to watch these kinds of videos
My family had an Astra like this in Red. We got rid of it in 2005. At that point the rear bumper was almost falling off due to rust, one of the rear brake lights was rusted stuck, it had problems with the cylinders and the cylinder head. It was still running great otherwise.
Beautiful ❤️ OPEL
Hi Flexiny. if you don't need this car, I will ask you to deliver it to Ukraine (Kiev) at the price you set .But I only have 19000uah - ±$500. I don't have a lot of money, and this is a very good option for my first car. I want to repair this car for everyday use. if not, thank you anyway for your hard work❤
Yea no he wont deliver an entire car more than 700km for 500 bucks. Don't even use being ukrainian as an excuse
Давненько выпусков не было. Похоже брошенные тачки заканчиваются в Эстонии. Ну ничего, рядом Россия там можно много чего найти. И аналог российского Ретро FM, звучащий из магнитолы просто шикарен.
True, most of cars are going to scrap yard. Now they want to tax every car that is registered, even car that is abandoned for years but thats not sure yet.
@@Flexiny In Russia, while the car is registered, taxes come to it. Even if the owner is dead. Good luck guys in your business
Эстония кстати рядом с санкт-петербург
А еще ближе к пскову
@@sewerkaэто намек? "Эстония исконно рюzzкие территории".
Haven't seen these in a while, brings back memories :) Btw, what do you do with such cars after?
that's some real German Craftmanship not like the French Owned Modern ones that are built in Turkey
yea
Omg, that's how i like this car always been the back again to the road.
I can't believe how easy that started up unbelievable after sitting all that time 😃
You're the best! Great job
Keep these amazing video's up I really enjoy them also where do you find these amazing cars?
OPEL ASTRA F 💖
That 1.7 diesel was a common adoptee by people wanting to run on vegetable oil, both used (cos it was free) and new, as well as biodiesel in various mixes, back when it was all cheap of course, but with the anti-diesel witchhunt going on, cheap diesel fun seems to be going the way of the dinosaur...
Astra SW is a good and beauty car, the Diesel version is even better!
I've owned a few vauxhall astras and they were very reliable little cars did what they said on the Tin. That white astra apart from the steering wheel been on the wrong side and speedo in some weird format😜tbh it is in really good condition for how long it's been sat.
Sei un grande....
Great engine. Isuzu 1.7 td.
Nice video ❤
Great video Flexiny. I have the same car but with a petrol engine. It's a very good car. Mine is a bit rusty but the engine works well.
I Just loved it
😅
Well done my friend !!!
