Aside from the beautiful views and fantastic editing, I love the way the two of you work together as partners. You communicate and make a plan and set up all your lines before every anchor and docking which is so much nicer than the confusion and chaos often seen. Also I just can't get over how the two of you keep everything so neat, orderly and clean. Wonderful video as always!
This is part of the reason I enjoy watching Dan and Kika. They communicate so effectively and are always patient and gentle with each other... at least what they show us. :D Came to say that docking job was awesome, that was a tricky spot. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely! You have to admit, they married well. I’m sure they may edit out any unkind words... but this looks almost like the perfect pairing! They both seem to treat each other with respect, and kudos to you both for being troopers! Cold morning, my ex-wife would have been bitc... I mean nagging, unhappy, complaining before the day even started. Totally pointless as it doesn’t help you prepare for the days challenges. You two have a gift! Respect to you both! Keep up the good work!

Almost nothing makes a boat driver happier than a perfect docking of an 12 meter boat in a 16 meter hole with boats fore and aft after a full day in tiring, heavy handling seas. Great job. You deserved a beer for that.

In other words I think you are super smart and good sailors who crafted a beautiful sailboat. Thanks for sharing your sailing life.
You are both a lesson to all couples on how to live, work and love each other. Pure feelgood video's every time. That really was an excellent docking Kika. I think Dan wanted to reward you off camera 🧡😉
Such a novel idea, sailing on a sailing channel!! That's why I love watching you two!! And Kika what a great job docking!!! Well Done!!! Keep up the great work, wonderful sailing, scenery, editing, production, and being one of the best sailing duos on RUclips.

Thanks for explaining your upfront thinking of the upcoming maneuvers. It makes the video so much more informative for other sailors.
You two always brighten my day. Thank you for investing so much care and attention to your videos, and helping us follow your journey. And send a little of that rain to fire-ravaged Colorado. We’ll take anything we can get.
Its great to see you experiencing the same as myself when I sailed the whole Norwegian coastline this summer. Remember to experience Stokkøya when you pass Trondelag. If you need free docking for a while I do have docking space in Trondheimsfjorden I`m not currently using.
You guys work so well together, it is as if you were both made for each other. I am learning a lot from you guys about sailing and boat life. I am so inspired by you both. Another wonderful and amazing video. Saving now to buy my own sailboat.
I remember this. I was there in July. Same weather. I loved Norway. You have to be rugged to enjoy that place but the reward is great. It reminded me of how insignificant I am in this large natural world.
Once again, thank you very much for this wonderful video. Your photography skills and editing make it so pleasant to watch. It is a real treat. We love you both.
You have done an amazing job with the boat, I have seen so many videos of other renovations but you really have been so clever in practical matters but made it look so good too.
I am 81year old sailor. I lived and worked in Bergen for 5 weeks in 1962. Like all cities things change over time. I really got to enjoy the rain. I was there in September thru part of October. I had 2 weeks of Sun. I should have known something was up, when I saw everyone sitting on the park benches facing the Sun. :) I got so use to the rain, I didn't mind the water flowing off my nose. There seem to be a coffee/ pastry shop on each corner, and I took full advantage of them. To me it was a music city. I enjoyed the 2 guys who played violin and piano at supper time in my Hotel Norge. Dang Kika! That docking had me feeling fly, and I wasn't even there, LOL. I get some serious travel-by-sailboat jitters from you 2 adventurous, intellects!

Love watching you two and your adventures. Sweet docking! I'll be working on docking our 53' this year and to be honest it makes me a little nervous. Have to overcome the fear though! lol... The coast and weather remind me so much of BC. Safe travels!
When towing your dinghy even in light rain, consider removing the motor. It will save you a ton of work, time and money. As the boat starts collecting water with the motor still attached, the stern will get heavier making it easy for the to be overturned be a rough wave.
Ahhh... they obviously know about that already, don't you think? Sometimes shitty weather just will hit you and you got a good load of other stuff to think about other than your damn dinghy.... and motor... and stern... and easy, waves and stern!
I'm having a crumby pandemic afternoon, and this video made me smile and remember sailing days on the coast of Maine. Thanks for sharing this adventure with all of us.
Awesome job with the docking, that was so well executed. As for the rain, I used to love the rain while on the water. Sitting in the cockpit with a drink, all huddled up watching the rain flatten the surface. I enjoyed this episode very much.

If you are out for a sail then Monohull wins every time, but if your sailboat is your home, then many people get tired of being heeled over is uncomfortable. They wanted to cross oceans and their RV wouldn't and couldn't do that, so they bought a cat which is a floating RV/home often referred to as a sailing Condo. I am personally torn between do I want the comfort of a cat or do I want the sailing of a monohull heeling over and the feel of the wind which you can't get on a CAT. I started my sailing journey sailing little Laser dinghies, and I fell in love with the sailing. I look as the Islands as an excuse to go sailing not a destination as much. So tough decision! Do you sail? Have you ever sailed a dinghy? or small sailboat? I always recommend people start there!
@@RiverWoods111 We live aboard a 53' Spencer Ketch...wouldn't have it any other way. All the comforts of home. Depends on the space you need or want, really.
Thought of this when K was on the bow pulling in the anchor. Have you ever considered 'testing' your ability to swim in all of that gear? I seem to recall you doing a 'man overboard' test in the Caribbean to practice coming about to 'rescue', but staying afloat in Caribbean clothing and staying afloat in Norway clothing are two different beasts. Those 4 layers may mean needing to wear the PFD more when out on the deck.
Hypothermia would be more of a concern rather than buoyancy....those clothes would actually trap air for the short term and actually make it easier to float. Once saturated, they become pretty much neutrally buoyant. So as long as the clothes don’t restrict movement too much, it shouldn’t be a problem. With that said, wearing a PFD is always the best option

I last sailed in 2004 and there was no roller furling and mail sail bag. I love the way you two work together. I get so sick of the race issues back here in Portland, Oregon. Bless you. My boat was a Macgregor 26x
Love your videos. I'd be really interested to learn more about how you're managing your power consumption and production up in the northern latitudes. Especially if solar is your main energy generation source.
Love all your videos, these past few have been amazing. Born in Haugesund years ago and haven't been back in 20+ years, so its amazing to watch you guys sailing in my home area. More amazing is recollecting some of the scenery you were sailing by. Thanks for allowing us to join you in your journey through life. Stay safe.
It was lovely to watch your journey with all the wind and rain whilst reclined on a comfy couch in a cosy warm room. Lol. The tables are usually turned the other way where you guys are in the tropics with a blue sky and golden sand whilst we freeze. Seriously though, that was a great video and I’m looking forward to seeing you explore Bergen.
14:15.., was wondering if you could get one of those magnetic aquarium glass cleaners with a very soft fabric glued onto each face to periodically clear the screen?.., or maybe apply a clear car wax to the outside so the water runs straight off?
When I first crewed on a sailboat, I was impressed by how the skipper could predict when we would get hit by a gust. And then when I got my own boat, it's three, two, one, here it is. I think of it like someone sneaking up on you. The first time you get smacked up side the head. The next time your senses are hightened and you look for it. More of an inland water skill. Open water sailors didn't have deal with that as much. Enjoyed watching as always.
Love your videos; content, editing and personalities are all great. I really enjoy watching you guys, it's almost like a visit from a favorite niece and her uncle approved beau. An effective way to manage dingy bilges is to mount a small check valve next to the drain bung and plumb it to the bow with two meters of extra hose coiled up. After a rainy night or during a wet passage, pull the dingy close and hook a small hand pump to the hose. If you expect to need a lot of pumping put on more hose and lash it to the towline for convenience. The check valve will drastically reduce the strokes needed to prime the pump. Wishing you fair winds and following seas.
It allways is a good idea to tie the sternline(s) using a bowlin knot so long, that the knot is situated above the water and not on land. So it is much more easy to open the knot especially if you have to leave in emergency during nigth.
When I started watching you (when you were in the Florida) I never in a million years would guess you would come to Bergen in my home country. Beautiful city, fjords, mountains, people. Good luck in the winter, it remains cold and windy, but you'll do fine, it never really get's that cold on the west coast of Norway because of the gulf stream.
You will freeze your naughty bits off if you stay in Norway any where near the winter.. My advice is point your boat south and dont stop till you get to Lanzarote. Good luck.
When you have consecutive cloudy days and are at anchor, how critical do the batteries get? Love the channel, enjoy the way you’ve thought outside the box with your adventures and love watching the progression of your vessel and talents.
We don't let them get "critical". We know how much power we use in a day and plan accordingly. The cool part about Norway, is there are marinas every 5-10 miles with free power. We're never far from a top up.

You guys are living the best life. Good for you. Thank you for sharing it with us RUclips watchers.
Excellent job! I love watching your videos. I hope you make your windshield hydrophobic with a ceramic coating or atleast RainX
Thank You for sharing, we are enjoying your on going adventure. Safe travels.
You guys are truly living the dream love what you do keep doing what you're doing
Thanks again, you two, you just keep getting better and better. Best of all, you still get along! Safe sailing...
Finally I get to watch a video via Patreon as I've finally caught up haha 😃
Thank you for sharing this beautiful sail. From start to finish it's an insightful, joyful video. Well done Team. Hello from London, England : - )
You both are amazing....conquer the world .
14:15.., was wondering if you could get one of those magnetic aquarium glass cleaners with a very soft fabric glued onto each face to periodically clear the screen?.., or maybe apply a clear car wax to the outside so the water runs straight off?
Very good docking maneuver (as expected). The way you filmed and edited it without a whole film crew is great.
I love when people sail on sailing channels. This was great
G'day greetings from Australia. Happy Sailing. Thanks for taking us on your adventures
LOL - 20:30 "Are you waiting for me to say something specific?" -- Kika quote of the day.
Maybe Kika was hoping that Dan was waiting for her to say something specific?
I think we all know what Kika was thinking 🤔
What I love most about you Channel is that you guys sail! Awesome video
Excellent video. Thank you both for another great one. Nice job on docking UMA. I am loving where this is at right now. It is so beautiful there. 💕💕💕
I love that Kika has discovered layers. You have become a true northerner.
perfect it's really most professional
You will freeze your naughty bits off if you stay in Norway any where near the winter.. My advice is point your boat south and dont stop till you get to Lanzarote. Good luck.
The only time to be in Norway is June and July!
I really like how you guys 'show' things being done.
Hi guys thank you for all your adventures that you do in this program just love the way you work together keep up the good work love from Australia
What a nice sailing with a spinnaker under the rain! That’s what I like too! No whether er is bad for sailing! Congratulations!
