Hey mate, I just thought of a good idea to have a spot light show for the viewers, where people send in photos of there best blooms and you show them thanks.
I’ve done that a couple of times. It can get a bit overwhelming since I do everything on my channel. I don’t have anyone administering it so it’s a bit much on my plate. I do showcase here and there when I see something very spectacular. I will definitely put it out on my channel. That’s why I’m gonna start doing selected home visits to showcase my viewers collection of orchids and plants.
I'm partly Chinese and I know many orchids are used in Chinese medicine. For dendrobium, the most usual ones are Dendrobium nobile Lindl, dendrobium chrysotoxum Lindl. and dendrobium fimbriatum Hook. The whole plants are edible. They are used for soothing the stomach.
Variegated Monstera adansonii used to be ridiculously expensive, I'm glad it's followed suit with a lot of other plants and came down in price. I've been looking into getting a Thai Constellation, maybe sometime soon I'll pull the trigger.
Agree 💯. Some of these plants during the pandemic went way up in price. A bit ridiculous if you ask me. But they are starting to go down cause there are not that many buyers as in 2020.
Thanks for taking us with you! I love that Cattleya mount and the price is beyond reasonable. I can’t wait to see your haul. PS .. I think the sweet smelling dendrobium is a kingianum.
Truly appreciate these videos you make I don't always comment but I'm always watching. I'm coming to Redlands in May. I'm super excited! Also that tip about the contamination was a gem! Thanks for that ✨️
Aside from its massive flower size and color, I don’t know it’s roots or background story. But it is a very spectacular flower in person. Definitely something special.
No! Cattleyas suffer from root rot all the time because most people over water. Only if the Cattleya is mounted on wood and the roots are free of any medium can you water every day. I used to kill them all the time. One good thing to do if you water allot, change the pot to one with openings around the base. Plus use a mix of lava rock and Orchiata high grade wood chips, clay beads, and charcoal. This is airy enough to let the roots dry in between waterings.
Hey Nelson! Since you are on a way to improve your pronunciation on the scientific name of the plants, allow me to give you a tip. Most of the species names are in Latin (a dead language that will not change) and you are a Spanish speaker, just say those names as you would in Spanish. That's how I do it with Portuguese, I just say the way I read. You'll say it right 95% of the time!!
Amazing orchids at that show😌🤲💖I'm blown away by the beauty

What great information! I have eaten Dendrobium flowers before. I’ve had them in drinks and also in desserts. 😋
For high blood pressure.
Hi Nelson, I stopped by on Saturday and got one of Josh's mugs. Love OFE's fairs and the awesome vendors.
That’s awesome! Glad you made it there, but sorry I missed meeting you. 💚
Hi Nelson, thank you so much for your time What a selection of plants😮 I would like to buy everything😊

Yes. The sweet-jasmine fragrant orchid is exactly that. 👍🏼 My haul is coming up soon. Lots to show. 🤗💚🤗

Thank you afee for your comment. I appreciate it very much, specially your feedback. 🤗
That dendrobium pendulum cane reminds me of the "Elder wand" from Harry Potter which has similar knob like design 😅🧙♂️
I bought 2 Dendrobium pendulum cane in orchids show in Pasadena.
a small one.
You’re right! Lol!
I love that Neostylis Lou Sneary (Blue Bird) 😍 great video 👍.
One of these days I will make it to an OFE show.
Yeah that Blue Sneary was so adorable. I can’t wait for mine to bloom. I’ve had mine for several years.
Love the green Cattleya but any idea on why it was $100? What made it a premium plant?

Hi Nelson, I have no luck with cattleya. I killed so many 😢. Question pls. Do you water them every day? Thank you!

@@naturenel Thank you so much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What is the name of the first orchid on your blog
That’s a Dutchman’s Pipe vine flower.

Good tip! I usually do it that way. I resort to pronouncements in Spanish. 🙏🏼
