Good information. Can you consider doing a future Tech Tactics on suspension - I have a 14 yr old 997 TT and need to better understand the components and wear, what needs to be replaced, when, etc. E.g. I don't want to replace strutts and other parts if only the mounts need replacement. Thanks.
For 911 SCs made in the day of bias ply tires, do they need suspension mods to align for radial tires or can that be done with alignment and the OEM suspension?
Could you please redo this video in a professional shop and go advanced next time please? Also could you please get somebody who knows old Porsches? You can setup everything at the back of old 911 including camber. Also he should setup the rear suspension height correctly. Unfortunately this guy seems like most suspension geometry guys, doesn't really know what he is doing and then sets everything so-so, because average customer doesn't need/want/know perfection. It seems that the host is more educated on the topic.
Please keep in mind this was, as the title indicates, an introduction to alignments. And yes you are correct, you can set up camber on the back of an older 911. The pressure of filming live you sometimes have missteps. That said after filming, Danny completed the alignment and did set up the rear camber. Thanks for watching. Be sure to subscribe.
Would like to see a Porsche experienced independent alignment shop, then compare a Porsche dealership alignment.
Great minds think alike. We have a Porsche suspension specialist that we'll do a more in-depth alignment discussion. Be sure to subscribe.

Sam, already in the works. It will build off this episode and go into more detail of the very things you mentioned. Thanks for watching.

Why some cars need to have weight bags added before the alignment can be done?
Weight is often added to simulate driver and/or passenger scenarios.
