These are 33-34 years old now. Amazing things. Mine I have had for 30:years and has been parked up for the last 15-20 years but I have changed the batteries and turned it on every six months or so. The shutter did stick when I took it out of storage but a good thump on the bottom got it going again and since then keep moving it around keeps everything good. The AA’s power the camera when they are in and charged so all this palaver is avoided is you keep the AAs in and with charge. These never use the battery seen here being changed unless the main batteries are discharged or removed. Frankly if my T90 needed this amount of work I would just bin it and use my FM3a.
Great, thank you very much.... changed in three Bodys now. Two of the had no circuit over the battery, so the replacement was much easier (higher serial number bodys) On all three bodys battery replaced and film feeder "hack" attached. Have a good time !
The major problem I see here is the replacement battery. I am in the US and I would like to know where you can get the battery before I tear the camera apart. I love this camera and I would like to do some black and white photos working on depth and emotion in the pictures. How well will the camera work or will it work if you have a dead internal battery? I think your videos are great and certainly would like to try to revive a really great camera!
jagdev grewal Hi, I use an older WELLER BP645 soldering iron that works with 3 AA battery cells. It works fine for smaller solder joints but it has not enough power for bigger ones...
There is a lady in my Camera Club with a T90 she has not used for 8 years and I am trying to teach her how to use it -- I had to read the instructions myself !! I did not know there was this 'back-up' battery -- it probably is not any good BUT she has used camera last weekend and got some photos ! How LONG does the battery last/
The battery is stated to last about 5 years. I got more than 5 years out of mine, but now I am considering this replacement operation if I can find a replacement battery. This is one of the really great classical Canon cameras .. It was the prototype for the EOS series!
Which moron thought it would be a good idea to put the battery there? I had no idea the T90 had a backup battery. What happens if the battery dies? I have a T90 and I have no idea of the condition of this mystical battery.
Junk! I bought a T90 when it was out about a year from a leading UK 🇬🇧 photographic supplier. I had to return the first three as they were very poorly made (Taiwan) and some parts were even loose and rattling. The fourth seemed ok until I took it with me on holiday to Greece. It went faulty within days and just wouldn't work. When I got home I managed with a bit of persuasion to get the UK Canon distributors to replace it. I hardly used it since and found out years later the T90 was very prone to the problem I'd had. I never bought another Canon product.
@DrTomHi I need your help, I have an unusual problem with Canon T90. When i put the batteries i get blinking 'bc' message on lcd and nothing else, no shutter, no lights on viewfinder. Also i noticed that when i press the step down lever mechanism seems to be working but lenses won't step down, also i can't push the mirror upwards (I'm able to push it up when i fiddle with the left socket near the mirror). Nor i can move the vertical lever on the right side of the mirror. I also noticed that shutter have two grey screws when looking behind the mirror and i can move that curtain upwards with a screwdriver but it returns to it's original position. In my working T90 there isn't any curtain with grey screw. Is this fixable ? Can you please help me. Thank you.

Very useful video, but you forgot an essential point... the reference of the battery !
Very helpful video there. Is it possible to modify it so that the battery can be replaced without opening up the camera ?
Hi, I have a t90 and the battery holder where it has the lock to open it broke, can you make a tutorial of how to take it out please? Thanks
Is the backup battery for the T70 located in the same area as the T90?
I notice you have a battery operated soldering iron that actually works. May I ask the make and model of the iron you are using?

Hi how are you, I have a canon T 80 that has a flat memory battery, should I follow the same procedure as replacing the battery as in the T90 ?,Thanks
My T90 does not rewind the Film. Any ideas how to fix that? It makes there rewind sound for a couple of seconds but stops and blinks.
DO YOU NEED THE BACK UP BATT CAN THE UNIT WORK WITH OUT IT
Where would the backup battery be on the Canon EOS 1?

don't cut the red wire :)
Wooo
Very bad idea canon had to put a battery in such position. The camera had enough place to put it in good access place.
