I love Perish Song so damn much. It's a gimmick and nothing more 99% of the time because if your opponent isn't trapped then they're really not in any danger. But that 1% of the time is what I live for.
That's the only reason why I think most of the time, these guys who just run some solo sweeper Pokemon can possibly be destroyed by a single Perish Song just because they cannot switch *(because switching means losing the buffs)* and can be stalled for 3 turns.

Perish song is a hard counter to setup strats It's like when a guy in Yugioh takes 20 minutes to set up his field with like 3 monsters that can't be destroyed and you hit them with that storming mirror force to just undo all that hard work in one move.
Tbh battle traps like that are generally pretty bad not to mention such players will have negates. Regardless of that, Time Space Trap Hole does a better job.

In Anything Goes I *always* make sure to run a Pokemon that has Infiltrator + Clear Smog or something with Haze just to deal with setup strats. Never thought to use Perish Song.

Swagger/Attract and Protect/Endure that Perish'd Garchomp and you don't even need six, you just need confusion/infatuation to proc on turn 2 and defend on turns 1 and 3. Or a focus sash for turn 2.
I remember a similar thing happening in Gen 7 AG when I ran a Haze Zygarde. Dude set up with Smeargle and Espeon and when I finally got a turn in, I just Hazed and they immediately quit.

The first mistake is that they used Ingrain. Prevents switching. If not all teams can Baton Pass, even more screwed.
No ingrain prevents the enemy from switching one of their pokemon out aswell.
