Remember watching this live. Thought Lanci had no chance. I danced round the living room at the conclusion. My late Mum saying 'mind the light mind the light'. Used to love these B&H, Gillette, Nat West games. Cricket isn't the game it was.Getting goosebumps watching this again!
this is the reason why lancs were an indomitable force in 1-day cricket in the 90s.. was at 4 Lords finals- all magical.. Akram was the spearhead, Athers the cool man in a crisis and a bunch of youngsters like Chapple, Martin, Lloyd and Hegg who were ready for the fight.. pity the Lancs team now will never in my lifetime win anything these days- great memories- ta!!
I've been looking for this for years. My memory led me to believe it was Essex we beat so I couldn't find it. Glad I chanced upon this and have to agree with many on here who rate this Lancashire side so highly.
It was another game when Lancs pulled it out of the fire that was in the 1996 Nat West Final v Essex. Chappell got a whole raft of wickets in their collapse. ruclips.net/video/odPAT1ZDS-E/видео.html
@@uphollandlatic Indeed. As a young fan in 1973, I was so happy to see Frank Hayes score a century against W Indies. It's a shame it was a one off, but such a memory.
I watched this unfold at me mums. This was a miracle from God for me to learn that all things are possible with God. Wasim Akram who accumulated valuable runs at the end would have been run out much earlier if the Cyclops thingy would have been pointed in the right direction!
Legendary commentary from Richie he was the best

Am looking for Lancs cricket memories for my Mum's funeral. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed watching this!
Great upload! Some proper old school 90s bowling actions in this, beauty from Ian Austin at 7.05
As a 12 year old Surrey watching this, I vowed to never ever watch cricket again, after witnessing this!.. Lasted at least a week!

didn't Lancs win the county championship a few months after you posted this :-)
Absolutely!! Me and my big mouth for predicting 😊
Wasim Akram helps Lancashire with All round performance his 38 runs with bat change the whole game 👏👌
Even now I cannot believe what I have watched
Bully Austin ...Lancy legend.
We miss you Richie!
I remember watching this with my dad when I was a kid. what an amazing game of one day cricket it was.
the greatest game of one day cricket ever
Close Mike but not as good as the 1996 b and h semi against Yorks, that will forever be my fav ! Unbeatable !
What an awesome Lancs side, I can't imagine them putting one together like that again.
2 Ws greatest of all time Waseem and Waqar playing against to each other.
Only Surrey could fuck it up from there!
Ian Austin - legend.
Remember this, that collapse was unbelievable.
brilliant, to see this again!

@@uphollandlatic Thanks for posting this reminder of that final. I loved rewatching that. Not a weak link in that Lancashire side. Happy days.
@@feelesh 👍 My favourite Lancashire team was 69-74. Wood, Lloyd, Pilling, Clive Lloyd, Sullivan, Hayes, Hughes, Simmons, Lever, Engineer, Lee, Shuttleworth etc

stewart would have been englands top run scorer if he hadn't been such a good keeper and had to bat down the order a lot
Surrey threw this away.

Great old days when men were men and cricket was played the real way.
So the ‘real way’ is 55 overs a side, 4 fielders in the ring, and 11 overs per bowler max?
pure lunacy
See how young Ian Austin looks.
Good to see wasim n waqar in the match
Not quite up to the 1996 bh semi victory against yorkshire but not far short !!!
The one thumbs down must be a southerner.
the proverbial house of cards !
@aragorn1959 what was that?
@eppymouse except for winning the championship this year
These days austin would nt get in cus of his fitness
the fans run to wasim akram for a autograph
@grezzbop lol, exactly what i was thinking!
The off spinner was super average.
brilliant, to see this again!
