The magic knot is done completely different...what you did was the surgeon's knot and it is actually way better than magic knot and will not ever come undone. Love your two sweaters!

If anyone hasn’t jumped on the Ranunculus train yet, this video ought to do it! Wow, I absolutely love both of your versions… especially this pretty blue/green colour. I held out for a while, and then knit two of them within two months. Great tutorial. I am a big fan of the magic knot.

Chiaogoo has a shortie, red lace circular set that that goes from size 9 to 11. The smallest length is 12”, but I find them perfect for sleeves, even for smaller adult sizes. I got mine from Amazon and I love them. They have a swivel cord, too. They have three different shortie sets that cover any size you could need. 🤗

Do funny we are making quite similar ranunculuses! Similar color, plant yarn. My yarn is a linen/cotton/bamboo blend that's basically like a bunch of little threads. I've been using a braided join and it's working great. I saw it on Mel Makes Stuff's video about joining plant yarns. You basically split your new yarn into 2 then braid that with the old yarn just like you'd braid hair. I leave the ends about an inch long on each end and they can just hang loose inside, I am not weaving them in.

Kaci, I make my ranunculus from first pattern. I used a yarn similar to yours on the last one and i can wear it in the Missouri summer. I always adjust my needle sizes instead of doing less or more stitches and it has always worked out.( Angel on my shoulder?:) I do this method for shaping , too. I make 3/4 sleeve because I don't want to look at all that that entails. I am OLD. Your color is so very pretty. I have made from mohair and wool blends , also. It is looking very elegant. Will look great over casual , too. So versatile.

Chiagoo makes a us 10 shortie but I believe you have to buy the large shortie set to get it - the set comes in US sizes 9 thru 13. The smaller shortie sizes - you are able to buy them individually. The large sizes came out fairly recently- maybe Chiagoo plans on releasing them for individual sale?

I just try to have the yarn change happen on the back or sides. And I knit the 2 strands together for one stitch, but others knit for a few stitches. That helps to secure in place.

your new ranunculus color is beautiful! Like you, I used to use the magic knot method for cellulose fibers but I've had it fail me a couple of times. It was probably me, but I can't bear that happening again so I've been using the Weavin Steven method that Steven West uses. Actually, I use the Crazy Sock Lady's version of his method because she separates the ends on 2 rows and you never see it. That's my go-to method for weaving in all of my ends now.
