It really depends on the size you want. You can keep adding roving as needed to reach your desired size. If you want to save the amount you use, you could use a ball of wool yarn as the core and use roving over it, but be sure to maintain your shape.
Hi, great video. very informative. I am curious could you hand embroider the wool dryer balls? with either the embroider thread or 100% wool yarn string pieces? Or would it be better to just needle felt on the wool balls? thank you soo much! great videos!
Breana Hobson You could do any of those on the felted dryer balls, although with high and rough usage in the dryer, I would recommend the dry needle felting because it has the best chance of survival. 😉
Breana Hobson I would like to add that if you make the felted ball into a decor item or ornament, embroidery would add a nice touch. Wouldn't need washing or cleaning or anything, so the threads would be pretty safe and secure.
Hi there! Thank you so much for sharing the video. I'm planning to make big pieces, like cushions. Just wonder if I can use cotton instead of wool? what kind of filling can I use to achieve a softer feel? Thank you!
I’ve been wondering how to hide the knots! Thanks so much!
Magnificent!!!!!

I think you can only felt wool like this. It wouldn't work with cotton.
Love it
