- A great sketchbook idea for beginners or anyone trying to get started sketching. I'm using Caran d'Ache Neocolor II water soluble wax pastels, and Stabilo Woodys to draw fast sketches from reference pictures. Sketch along with me as I complete 2 minute realtime drawings of 4 different pictures of shoes.

Thanks! The shoes that had a more profile perspective were definitely easier than the forward facing/ top down view. I didn’t think they would be that hard to sketch, but they were challenging indeed! ❤️😊👍

Another great video Heather!! Is it possible you could make the audio more 'centered'? I find that the audio of your commentary in videos is often way louder in one ear than the other perhaps due to microphone placement?
I have had a constant battle with audio. Unfortunately, since I am only using my phone to make these videos, the audio is the best I can do at the moment. I have tried several different microphones to correct it and they all don’t get along with my phone. I will be looking into upgrading the audio/video hopefully soon. It’s just expensive at the moment. I hope you understand. Thanks for letting me know about the issue. I will do my best to correct it. ❤️😊👍

I found your channel after i picked up some neocolor2s, which i purchased to help loosen up. I pulled out my hikers for a quick sketch AND a hike-about. Thank you. Your videos are very motivating to me!

Van Gogh did shoes. You’re doing shoes. Shoes have a lot of character, actually, and I think you chose ones with opposing traits which was nice!

First, definitely do a fall theme next time and maybe for a couple weeks. Plenty of options. The shoes today were all great because I love how they all come together after you finish each one up. I kept saying just add some more brown to the ladies dress boot! Up at the top, it just needed more color. In my opinion of course 🥰

This is very hard for me. I spend a lot of time on one drawing. I want it to be perfect and it never is 😂

This exercise will definitely help with that! I was the same way before I started doing these timed sketches. I use to hate practicing drawing, because I would constantly erase and take forever to complete a sketch. If you give this a try, I definitely recommend doing more than one.
