I was planning on posting a "tips and tricks for a successful daily October art challenge" video, buuuuuut I was so sucked into work, time got away with me. So, I made this little fusion of "Prepping for an October Art Challenge" and a "This is how I prepped my 2025 Calendar daily challenge!"

By doing some of your scribble brigades the past few weeks, I’ve actually got inspired to do a sketchbook art challenge this year! 💖 Also want to do one or two RUclips Videos about the experience, but I guess it will be a loooot to have on my plate - Let’s see how it goes 😅

I literally decided last minute to join in because of a nearly year long art slump…But I’m already getting back into the swing of my V simple animations that I’ll be doing again this year! Haha the style of this video and the way you've done the cuts between shots and the music really makes me think of an 80s info-show or something. XD Afternoon TV art class or something, it has such a cosy and nostaglic vibe!

I got a tiny 4"×4" square sketchbook for Peachtober, this year, and it's perfect for me! This way I can still make cute colorful illustrations, but since they're so tiny it's so much faster ✨️🧡 And aaaah I can't wait to see the finished calendar!! 🥹🧡

Thank you Sophie for this beautiful video, you encourage me in my project. Following the visit to a beautiful place I did with my sister in law some weeks ago. I plan to make a serie of 17 illustrations depicting this visit. In watercolor, colored pencil why not gouache and inks on a A5 zig-zag sketchbook......à big job to me.... I love your art so much, thank you😊❤

I have often struggled with the 7-day, 10-day, 15-day hurdles. Do you have access to those quick thoughts that keep you going on? Do you have a friend you can count on (or do you even need that) to cheer you on to the finish line?
Sending all the good vibes. New shoes to share? New water bottle to put a sticker on? 😂
Sometimes on the days where I have loads of energy and inspiration, I'll make 2 or 3 pieces as a back up. I'll post them on the days I need a break or if life is busy.
But really, even if you sit down and put your pen to page with a 10 minute timer and no distractions (music or an audiobook is okay!), you'll find yourself wanting to keep going anyway. And if not, take a break! You obviously need it :) It's no fun if it becomes a chore xoxoxo

I'll hopefully have a shop update before christmas with some more :)
I'm going to try to do Peachtober, but like you said, compared to the first time I did an October challenge (which for me was Inktober in 2017) the art level has gone waaaaaaay up and people create 31 fully formed and finished pieces these days! And not only that but they create 31 pieces as part of a consistent theme too!
So thank you for the reminder that you DON'T have to create and upload a polished piece of art work every day this upcoming month 💖
YES! it's good to remember that.
I've also seen people only post once a week with a batch of their artworks from that week. I like this idea too, it keeps you away from the pressure of posting every day.
These illustrations seem so fun!! I cannot wait to see them!! ❤ I am more than halfway through my Peachtober because this year I am going on holiday in October and I wanted to be sure I would finish the challenge ahah... But now I feel like I cheated :')
We do what we gotta do!!!! I finished all of mine already too, hehehe! Life is busy - work smarter not harder ehhhh :))))

Hey hun does the light purple ink help it not bleed ?
Because I’ve tried that technique before in black and the ink wasn’t stable at all I think I have an inkjet .

I just chose the purple because it goes with most of my colours. It disappears into the background. it's on like 12% opacity, and i haven't noticed it bleed or anything.
thank you for this video. i want to do this challenge this year, but am pretty new to doing art regularely. i think being more creative will really help my mental health and i hope to work on my self love with it. hope you have a lovely october
