you should have spent that money ordering a megaboom 3 off e bay. u can get them new sealed for 115 sometimes including tax and shipping, and almost always for 135. far better speaker than flip 5. perfect for backpack.
You should talk about the TT TL GG ND etc. Versions of the JBL speakers or at least mention them because from what I’ve been researching it affects the durability and also the quality of sound of the speaker. Something that’s over looked by almost every RUclipsr
I have the BOOMBOX 2 and yes I love it...at max volume it is clear with great bass... outside it is a beast and people stare at it... it's a great conversation apparatus...more news at 11..
As you may know it has been said that some JBL devices can't be linked with partyboost such as the Clip 4. There is a way around this depending on what kind of smartphone you have and no partyboost needed. I have features on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus which allows me to sync any Bluetooth speaker. They are perfectly synced. I was able to sync my Clip 4 with my Charge 5 which is something you can't do in partyboost mode.
I think it would be helpful to demo the sound at 50%. A lot of these speakers compress/distort and sound like ear piercing shit at max volume and I feel like most people don't play music at max volume most of the time.
Man, I am kinda of pissed, I just bought a Charge 5 after 7 years with a Charge 2. I did not know this thing is mono since gen 4... I want a small stereo speaker, I don't wanna buy two Charge 5s or a gigantic Xtreme. I think I will return it and get a Bose. I feel your pain, kinda.
You can buy a shoulderstrap for the boombox , or as i did was just get the strap from a bag i had at home and clipped it around handle. Much easier to carry around when going further

I just found out that partyboost feature is disabled when you used it as tv speaker, once you connect it as tv speaker, you cannot even turn on partyboost icon, it is not designed for tv as per jbl support center,
Hi, I have both the JBL PartyBox 100 and the JBL BoomBox 2. And I found a way to connect the two together, if you’re using a Samsung phone. Samsung has got a feature called ‘Media’. You can find it when you open up your notification panel. Turn on both speakers and let them connect to your phone. Now select the speakers in ‘Media’ and you’re good to go!
@@karbonkevin919 not sure what samsung you're using but mine has 0 lag(youtube or any videos) when connecting 2 speakers and they sinc perfectly. This is because the phone sends the audio seperately to both devices so both speakers play exactly at the same time, you can also change the volume exactly how you want it for both speakers on your phone so one doesnt sound too loud compared to the other speaker. And at cost of volume? You can still play at full volume lmao. Dont talk shit when you prob own an iphone. Also this feature works with every bluetooth device not just jbl so yeah sorry to hear your phone doesnt have this awesome feature...
RECCOMENDATION: watch the sound test through a high quality speaker so you can really hear the disparities between the speakers’ bass etc. i’m watching this video on my flip 5 and i love it. a few minutes after i finished the video, i did a sound test on my flip 5 with the same song and it does sound better in person because the audio files are compressed on yt and that makes a difference so you can probably go to an audio test place and see which speaker uou like best .
It's possible to tweak sound quality with music player app equalizer. I have Android Poweramp paid version and it was able to erase annoying sound characteristic from my old Charge 3 and give it slight bass boost. Not perfect but very nice speaker for noisy environment.
its called a boombox, i was thinking something along those lines after seeing how big it is. id say the extreme 3 is perfect for outdoor and carrying use and its not giant. other ones are either too small and the boombox is too big. thats for conveyance though, sound wise of course without watching the video the boombox would have louder sound.

Hey GymCaddy, I talked to JBL support not to long ago and they said that firmware update that allows an adjustable EQ for the Xtreme 3 is coming out within the next 7 to 10 days so I'd keep an eye out for that, I'd love to see an update video and hear your thoughts on it!

@@360hans Nah there has to😅. The Flip line of speakers serves as a sweet spot on the "Portability vs Sound Quality" graph. Discontinuing it would not be a smart idea (unless JBL only changes the name "Flip" to something else).
I often wonder why the bigger speakers have a shorter battery life than the smaller speakers. Even if being louder puts a greater strain on the batteries, shouldn't bigger speakers be able to compensate for that by having room for larger size batteries?
Its simply because you can only go so big when you get into those speakers with limits. While yes you have more room batteries only get so powerful in the smaller form factors before you're practically in a car battery. Not to mention if you are buying a " portable speaker " you don't want to lug around a 40lbs speaker with 20lbs of it being battery.
Power consumption to battery capacity isnt linear at all. Especially when it comes to reproducing low frequencies that require massive amounts of power to reproduce
Party boost is light years ahead of any other protocol. I have a backyard that I 60 x40 and I have 4 flip 5s around the yard. Should I get 2 charge 5s or a extreme 3. Botha about the same cost
