My mom will be 70 this year, and though we mean well, and think we are “helping” by tidying and clearing space for them, they just don’t see it that way. Same here my African mom refuses to throw things out, every time I go home to her tiny apartment I try to declutter and tidy up the place but I just end up feeling bad like I’m disrupting her safe haven 🥺 I see the lil girl that didn’t grew up with much at all, I’ve come to terms that this is how she likes it and I have to just embrace the space! It’s hard but I love her sm ❤

We live in the south and my mother in-law lives with us. Both of our families are up north in different states. We make a point to either invite 1 set of family to our home for 1 holiday or summer break or we travel to them and vice versa for the other family set. This year for XMas our NY family is traveling to us. Our Philly fam visited in the summer. We’re blessed to have enough beds to house everyone when they visit and it’s always a chaotic fun filled riot that I wouldn’t change for the world. Your vlogmas is bringing me so much joy. 🙏🏾

Guysssssss I think you need to leave Lolas space how she likes it. It will only cause friction. I lived with my mum in South Africa for 3mths and I was shocked at the work surfaces then came to live with my mother in law In Peru up to now and same issue... Leave them... Ive learnt to just know I have my own space and it will be how I like. Enjoy her for who she is. I think that generation are built to be consumers, we just have to break those cycles

My grandpa would keep to himself sometimes because he wasn't a big fan of the noise of get-togethers (he's Swedish, btw.) I grew up in the family compound with my parents + grandparents.
