I love that the date night was at IKEA. It was just about doing something traditional with someone you love. I get it and the best part was you were in IKEA and the shopping. 10 points for Max and 10 points for Maya for loving it.

I actually think that this IKEA date is super romantic and cute, better than a fancy restaurant - what’s better than being shown someone’s culture and nostalgia? Maya I know you’re very vocal and honest (much like me and my family lol) but I hope you appreciate what Max is doing, it’s v wholesome!

@@nancy180world social media has honestly ruined so many people with these false, over the top ideas about what romance is. 1 its different for everyone, 2 when you're in a long term relationship yes the big shiny moments are important but its also about those smaller, or more authentic gestures. Just because he didn't take her to a fancy restaurant doesn't mean there's not a beautiful intention behind it. I think its immature to believe otherwise.
I love that you guys went to the ikea for this traditional dinner … sometimes it’s not the where but the who. Spending time with the people we love and making those memories matters. Good on you guys for making the date night happen.

I'm a big rice eater, because my Dad's side of the family are big rice eaters, so my mom growing up would fix it all the time.

Child free nights are a necessity!! Ikea date was definitely not what I was expecting though!! The nostalgia of the Christmas dinner at Ikea is sweet. Maybe not the best food but it's a core memory! Maya I her shopping mode was a great ending to the dinner, almost a second dessert! 🤣 No cozy time haha So realistic! 🤭💕

I wouldn't be surprised if it is more expensive than gold, it's the most expensive spice in the world :) i work in a food fraud laboratory and we were developing a way to test for adulteration in saffron you buy at the grocery store ^^
Hey, Ikea is a GREAT dining spot. I used to treat myself to dinner at the one in College Park, MD, in the U.S. The good food, happy families, panoramic view of the vast parking lot for people watching, what's not to love?
I just love y’all! Also, the meatballs and lingonberry sauce from IKEA hits! When I was small my mom used to take us there to eat and go to their giant ball pit they had back in the day! I loved that date idea for y’all ❤

@IKEA come thru with the sponsorship. They live in Sweden and they are super cool; one of the few channels I watch. I've already been influenced - I need the sock hanger thingamajiggy at my farm. Plus some of those little candy fish. I'm going to have to pass on the cooked food though. I'm from the American Deep South where we like the seasoning to be evident and visible.

Your start happened really quick which nothing is wrong with we are all here to live and experience life and YOU BOTH ARE LIVING testimony of that, LIVE na. I admire the courage. Following maya over the years maya is a eco girl I’m sure the choice of date place didn’t bother her, it was more of the food quality as mentioned she doesn’t like ikea food. Might I add that before the content gets to us it is edited and watched over and over but the creators if it was a massive deal to them both the video would not have been posted. View their love through their eyes and not what one wants to see from them to “prove they are in love” . 😌 two different cultures what one might find offensive (not saying that’s the case just speaking in general) the other might not they are LEARNING, Rome wasn’t built overnight. ❤
I've been loving the vlogmas videos thus far. However, this particular video and some other videos seem like Max is not being understanding of Mya's culture and incorporating her culture with Saga as well. I inutuitively feel like Mya's had to sacrifice alot living in a new country as a woman of color...don't lose yourself love. I genuinely wish the best for you both, and want you both to be happy. Take some time to love on one another more. Treat Mya to a romantic dinner, it doesn't have to be recorded here on the Tube. Just something I feel in my spirit; don't mean to come off judgemental. It’s so nice to try new things and sometimes it doesn’t come out as expected, good or bad, but I agree it’s totally okay and you learn from it and it’s the best that you try and theres next time, but most important thing is to be grateful for everything as long as you’re with your person. It’s also okay to have exceptions and be disappointed, but don’t harp on that, learn to enjoy and try again.

@@naimatayo8300 it’s because Mya is further in life than Max is. Also Mya is a Taurus. They like stability, the finer things in life and to be worshiped.
I can tell she is being patient (because Taurus) but I KNOW it’s only a matter of time before Max’s limited (not little cause I’m sure he’s trying his best) efforts become not enough. I think they are compatible as far as interest/hobbies but I don’t see the heat, intensity or passion AT ALLL. Like AT ALLLL, and I’m sorry but as a melanated woman, we NEED that.

and god forbid but dear, what if this was his last Christmas on earth?? his last Christmas-time with you, ever? how would you treat him & those particular moments if you knew that but he didn't?🥺
next date night he can give you a ROMANTIC night out at a lovely restaurant [plan with Maya & do this, Max]. the important part is he *wanted you to be there WITH him,* to share in it, this important thing to him & we love you both!💛💕💙💖
and just as an aside: stateside many major metro areas have IKEA, which you probably already know. and & I'm sure it's not all the same food at their restaurants/cafés over here but I LOVE it!👍and I could definitely do without the plain potatoes,🙄that, I get, hahaha! as many of us, we need SPICY deliciousness, I know!😆😆
but I do LOVE the Swedish Meatballs & Potatoes au Gratin + deviled/stuffed eggs [a tradition in our primarily African-American + ethnically diverse family, too! like so many other similar families in the USA]. and I love many of the other Swedish savories, too!
plus the desserts, including but not limited to Lingonberry pie!,🥧 yum yum!! and I lived in Denmark for a minute quite some time ago and I promise you, Maya:
similar cultures, they both do sweets/pastries & breads very well. and the Swedes, though not into intense spices either they, hands down & imho, have more flavorful meal recipes, if we had to compare!😄
[and so many of us 'grown ups' over here buy a lot of furniture @ Ikea, too!]
really hope you had a lovely time together, you're lucky to have family nearby enough who can contribute to you 2 having time to nurture your marriage. having family you can trust with your child is everything. so maybe make love, not war & prioritize the gifts because you wouldn't want to live without each other, right?
