OK, now I'm hungry! Great video Michelle. Thanks for sharing your design. I am one of those "stitch in hand" people but listening to the evolution of your stitching style has made me rethink that. I also get a lot of neck and shoulder strain and find it hard to stitch for extended periods of time. You have inspired me to consider switching up the way I do things. :D
O my goodness!!! You are a saint! This video is so helpful. Thanks for taking your time to respond to my request. Can't wait to make the stand. Thanks a million!!!
Hi Michelle, I watched your thug lyfe video #4. First time I had heard about your chennel....now I want to see your past videos. This is a great tutorial. I have always stitched in hand and wondered how the heck anyone wrestled with those other stands. Yours looks really doable and I can involve the hubby...lol. Thanks! BTW...I am SOOOO with you on the old eyes issues...argh..
I'm glad you liked the tutorial! I love my scroll stand, cheap and does exactly what it says on the box :D I recently bought myself a magnifying lamp (when I moved I broke the other lamp accidentally) and I've never looked back! Takes a little while to get used to but now I can't live without it! Thanks for watching!
I love the design of this stand! I think I'll make it next time I visit my folks, as my dad is the one with all the tools. Loving all your videos - keep up the great work! :)
Yay!!! I'm always so excited when people make the PVC frames! they're so cheap (and come with a sausage sizzle!!) and so useful. I have made a smaller one for hoops too :) Thanks for commenting!! M
Thank you for this video. My friends and I just made one for me. Cannot get things like stands, etc down here in Ecuador. Have a friend who is a master wood worker who is making scroll frame separaters for me. Then I need to go find dowel rods which I am told can be purchased here. Am not going to paint the PVC pipe pieces. I may glue/paste fabric to them.
Just found you and finished watching all your videos. Glad to see you as our Flosstube family. Your projects look great. Good-looking frame here. I've done very similar style and also had the type that's together with frame. I used easier way to cut my pipes- there is a cutter that looks like fat scissors and it cuts with just several squeezes. I didn't want to use any saws:) keep on stitching! Jurgita
Magic Pond Crafts thanks for watching and commenting!! I'm loving all the extra tips I'm getting. I've never seen those type of scissors in Au but I'll keep an eye out now, they sound great!!
Thanks Tonya! And yes, I am ashamed to say, they are all my large projects on their dowels ready to pop into spacers whenever the mood takes me to rotate :-)
Mich Stitch Hi Mich. Thank you I have finished mine. I have done a little adjustment to hold my smaller frame but have 2 spare longer rods to take my bigger frames. Thank you again it has stopped my shoulder hurting
Anna Landry thanks Anna! Hope you love it as much as I do 😊 with my scroll frames I got sick of spending $40 a frame so now I just buy dowel at tune correct size and swap the spacers out 😄 so I have 4 sets of spacers (that I didn't make) and lots and lots of rods!
Hello! The scroll frame rests on the two knobs that come out of the bottom front and then leans back on the top rail (if that makes sense). Also, if you go to my Instagram account (Mich_Stitch_1) and scroll through there a photos of the frame sitting on the stand in there. You have to scroll quite far down... but they’re definitely there 🙂
Hi, I'm a new subscriber to your channel, really cool. I most definitely going to watch your other videos. How much if you can say it cost you to make the PVC lap stand?? Love how you cover it up with the contact paper. 👍
Janet Stopol it cost me about $30 AUD for the PVC pipes and joiners. The contact was more expensive because I ordered it from the US (it would be a lot cheaper if you’re located in the US) but there are other, less expensive options if you read all the helpful comments here 😊 thanks for stopping by! Happy stitching 😊😊
Hi Debbie, Do you mean because the fitting was incorrect? It was designed to have the bar on top, I just couldn't push that one on because one of the elbow fittings was the wrong type?
@@MichStitch I was wondering why there was no bar on it. I thought i hear you say you would post a new you tube with the bar on top. thanks for explaining.
Hi from Dallas TX! Love your flosstube, love your projects, love your turorial [that's a lot of love :0) ] I found you and watched all episodes. I am looking forward to more. I get neck pain as well when I stitch for too long - I will have to try the 2 handed stitching.... but to do so I will need to made one of those fancy stands. I has seen other, but like your design the best. I like to flip my work and your design will be the best for that. Your Castles in the Air is beautiful, I have just started Life After Death. ~Sheryl IG @flagdatgurl

Awesome! Thank you! Nicole (Buckeye Stitcher) recommended you, so I’ve been binge watching this morning. Glad to have found you.

I would like to make this stand but first need to know how the scroll frame fits. Please describe this or where this may be in your video.

Great video...do you have the dimensions for the frame..like what size pipes?
Maureen Michaud hi Maureen, the pipes are 15mm, everything else depends on your body and chair size 😊
Thanks

did you make a new frame with a bar on the top? Is it on a new you tube?

@@MichStitch I was wondering why there was no bar on it. I thought i hear you say you would post a new you tube with the bar on top. thanks for explaining.
@@MichStitch bye the way great job on frame. I have to make the smaller hoop one u did. How big of hoop does it hold. thanks
You should spray paint your frame to cover all the wording.
Svannah M. Great idea! I was just worried the paint wouldn't stick, but I'm sure there's a paint especially for it right? 😊
I know Krylon makes spray paint for plastics. I'm sure other brands do too. I would just make sure you can let it dry for over 24 hours before using.
Oh no! Threads, bro!
I’m getting myself so hung up on measurements 🤦♀️
Haha! Just measure slightly bigger than you think. It’s easier to trim then add back 😊😊😊
You can just use washie tape so much cheaper.
I am still getting my head around washie tape :) it is a really good idea though! next time :)
