This is exactly why I LOVE this channel. Thank you Dean & Fernando for sharing this info.
I have an 18 Challenger with no factory amp and I was about to cut wire’s behind the radio until I saw this. Awesome work. You guys are the real deal.
Ive been installing 10 years longer than Dean...all I do is custom work ...jobs that could be 2 weeks ...2 months..or more..I really enjoy watching you guys jobs on newer cars that are in and out in short period of time ...I do miss that type of work...keep up the good work..
This is what I need. My new 2020 challenger sounds like a $500 system and 500 watts when I'm really pushing 1700rms. This will fix my issue with the Lc2i. I hate hi lows
Same. I just added a epicenter micro to my subs which are tapping into the rear 6x9’s and i hate it. Doesn’t sound as good as a friends car with an epicenter.
I just installed this today in my 2014 Ram 2500.
Works great. Only splicing/crimping wires were between the amp speaker outputs to the wiring harness that plugs into the harness and the remote turn on lead.
I just ordered this today from Crutchfield. It’s going on a 2013 ram 2500 with the 8” factory radio without the premium audio.
took me 17 days, but i made it through all the Installer Diaries. "on to the next playlist"
In the 90's if I told you ..you had to wait ten minutes and then another ten minutes so we could hook up the amps you would of said I'm out of my Mother F&&king mind 🤣😂🤣...next we'll be opening and closing the hood and truck coming 2050....luv the vids and info
I had to short the positive and negative battery cables together to get mine to learn the box. Battery disconnected of course. Used a small alligator clip test lead and let that sit for 10 minutes. Learned it just after doing that once.
Sanity check had to do the same thing for the radio to forget it.
2018 ram 1500
This is sick for those who don't know awesome!!!! I'm so glad Dean you complimented Fernando that he's more an assistant because he's an awesome installer GOD
Guys your videos are fantastic. I am going to use the new AmpPro for my Jeep and add the Kicker Key200.4 amp and the Cerwin Vega 12" spare tire sub. Thank you for the inspiration. I wish I was in FL and could have you do the work!!!
Very nice. Thanks for the publicity! :)
I looked today & it’s on PAC’s website...goes for $349.95.
Part number AP4-CH41 (R.2)
That is a really cool product!
Mine just arrived today!!!!!
I have a 2022 Jeep Wrangler with 7” non alpine system without subwoofer. Would I have to have this to add an amp to my factory head unit?
Best video in the world 🌎
I have a jeep jl without a premium sound system. Do you still need to run speaker wire to amp or just the rca cables
Hi friend I’m try to understand, can I use to amp with that ampro 1 for the subwoofer and the other for speaker? Thanks for you help
So the bass knob would only control the sub output correct? Not the other rca outputs.
Good morning from Montana.
I am adding six Kicker speakers to my 19 Ram classic with factory sound and the 8.4 screen. I plan to use JL RD400/4 for my front speakers and later add a sub. Here’s my dilemma. Please take into account I’m a very experienced truck tech with electrical experience and I am just looking for improved audio for a daily driver.
Should I save money by only using the RD400 high input feature and wire the speakers hot into the amp?
Should I purchase an LC6i and clean up the inputs before the amp, thus Slicing into the harness - and saving some money versus the ap4-ch41 R.2?
Should I bite the bullet and purchase this expensive harness and proceed with my install plans?
I see a patern w/7mm screws!!!!!!:)
Question, why did you say to "lock" the vehicle? Is it to keep other people from opening the door or is that actually required as part of the "programming"?
@alpha2011a That's why I wouldn't want to do that kind of work. I guess the main thing when you get to the "lock" part, make sure you have the keys or remote in you hand before closing the door. 😳
Loved your video. I HAVE A 2013 RAM 1500 WITH AN AFTERMARKET RADIO. I WANT TI PUT THE 8 inch factory radio back in with this new harness . Can you sell them to me. Thanks .
I bought the pac. Amp pro sub ch41 not knowing it’s for the newer dodge vehicles. Does anyone know if pac has a version of this same product for a 2013 dodge charger ?? Pls help!!!!
I have an amp pro in my GM. My bass does not turn on until I turn my volume all the way up. Same amp and sub I’ve had for years and it always hit hard. Now I’m smelling my sub heating up. Any solutions?
Well this is exactly what I need for my 2016 Ram. Where can I purchase this? I see it on there site but no purchase link.
I hope to get an answer being that this video is old. So hooked up my ampro and checked my voltage and it's only giving me 1.3 volts is this normal because I thought I was supposed to get at least 4-5 volts? I set head unit to highest before distortion and used 1000hz test tone. I've got fingers crossed for a response.
How can I leave the front dash tweeters playing from the original amp? Do I just not wire for them or do I have to fish the leads out from the AP4 harness and wire them to the speakers harness just to snap them back into the AP4 harness thru the black connector ?
Thanks for your help
So this will work on my Dodge Charger 18 sxt base ? Is this How to install a amp to after market door speakers with factory wiring? Where can I buy this?
What exactly do I do to cycle the ignition? Does this mean lock the truck wait 5 min, unlock then push start to acc then start it? Then off and repeat? Or just push to acc, push to start but don’t actually start it??
So I added a infinity 7005A and the door and dash speakers will not fad anymore and they are way high and I have kickers in the door and infinity dash so what’s going on. Can I run just a 4 channel amp for my 2 10”’s or do I have to have a 5 channel amp. Cause the shop said I need a 5 channel so I bought their 5 channel and it was the infinity hood amp but it’s getting hot and it’s killing the highs and they crackle at high volume so what’s going on. Should I go to a 4 channel amp and not a 5 channel?
Thanks
Notes in pac instructions: If you are installing the AmpPRO in a vehicle that is not equipped with a factory amplifier, you must add an amplifier to
the vehicle's speakers, as the factory radio will no longer have a 4 channel variable output after it has been re-configured
by the AmpPRO. For example, you can not add only a subwoofer to a non-amplified vehicle, as the radio will no longer
power the cabin speakers properly.
Bummer as thats what I bought it for :-(
lol thats what most of us bought it to put our door speakers on an amplifier how did it work for you?
@@shemekacusack9914 it worked perfectly. I've got a 6 channel amp on my 6 speakers and a monoblock on my subs.
Will this work on the 5.0 screen since it has the same pinout as the 8.4 screen? Still plug and play?
@@tylercusack9436 No will not work with 5in screens...have to upgrade to 8.4
@@cobrawannab1 how many speaker inputs are on the harness and does that cancel out how the dash and door speakers were factory output(in parallel), are there sub speaker terminals on the harness..I have the 6 speaker system no amp factory system...Harness hasnt arrived yet..just wanted to get a better understanding how to hook it up...So you were able to run all 6 speakers on separate channels, with out the doors and dash be factory paralleled...and still use factory speaker wire connections
I have a 2020 ram 1500 bighorn quad cab with 8.4 inch screen. What is the least expensive way to add a 4 channel for highs and one for sub. My 2015 interface works with the exception of the back up camera. Ram made a new red connector that is for the back up camera so I can’t change the radio out. Any suggestions would be appreciated
I have a non amplified system...where do you run the speaker wires from the amps...directly to speakers or to harnest wires from the connecter you disconnected(therefore using factory speaker wire)
I'm in the same boat. Can't get my front speaker to work. Done everything exactly how they said and I still can not get the fronts to work. Subs work and rear door speakers but can't get the front door or tweeters to work
@@dustinrohr2045 since this post i have installed , everything works as it should, as far as my prev post , yes you just run sub speaker wire's directly to amp. I dont know why you wouldnt be getting any sound from front and dash,,,did you replace dash, and if so did you run separate wire from dash,,,Iam using component speakers, so i ran separate dash wires to door via crossover, then just used a metro connecter, to connect to factory speaker connection in door, therefore not cutting any factory wiring. If you ran your rca's correctly from amp pro unit to amp, and you connected the speaker wire on the amp pro harnest to amp, you should be getting sound
Also note that in that install story there were minor alterations that had to be made,, i mentioned the molex connector in the door jam's..you will have to drill a hole in that connector to put the speaker wire threw...on challengers there a big space to drill,,,also replacing the door speakers, i went with PRV components 6x9, i had to cut off the hard plastic on the shroud(speaker holder) that stops moister or dirt from getting to speaker from door, ( I used a knife and heated it up on stove and just shave melted it off, like butter),to get my speaker to fit, and i had to drill a hole in the plastic shroud that house the 6x9(there's a fat oval space on one end so i could run my wires back threw to connect to crossover i mounted on door panel(factory the connector is connected from inside of door) also the rear set of tweeters i had to cut a hole in panel, just used a hole drill bit and cut from the back, there is a factory space for those who has the prem system, just had to cut it alittle bigger to fit tweeter( 3in hole for DS18 super tweets)..looks factory..The rear deck iam using PRV 6.5's and you will need a adapter for those, and the tweeters in the dash i used a adapter as well but i still had to enlarge the hole on adapter to get them to fit...then they lined rite up,,,just tuck the factory wiring out the way(rem. ran my own dash wiring)
@@edwardjones7412 hey I have a question after you plug and play the amp pro and aftermarket amp. Do you have to run each speaker wire to the amp ?
@@mbr9106 i bought the speaker cable that harnest 9 sets of speaker wire and connected from amp pro to input on amps then you have to connext wire from output on amp to speakers
Hi i have a 2019 f250 with the factory amp and sub i have add the Phoenix touchscreen and now I'm wanting to delete my factory amplifier and sub and add aftermarket amp for door and subs im wondering if i need the AP4-FD21 or the APSUB-FD21 thanks
Hey Dean. I have a 2022 jeep grand cherokee wk. It does not have factory amplifier. Do you know where active noise cancelation module is located? I installed pac amp pro ap4ch1. Aftermarket system sounds phenomenal . But when I upgraded factory door speakers using factory wire, door speakers all seem to have blown. Pretty sure cause is the active noise cancelation module. So now I have pac anc ch01 bypass but can't find module.. please help
Can you send me the information about the pac and what amplifier capacity do you recommend? I have a truck just like the video, it just doesn't have a factory amp and there are 6 speakers.
This harness they are talking about, PAC AP4-CH41 R.2, and whatever amp you want - recommend either a seperate dsp or amp with builtin dsp.
Any advice or recommendations for me? I am wanting to add 2 subwoofers. I have a 2014 Dodge Ram Laramie with the 8.4 uConnect radio with the Alpine sound system. It has 1 factory subwoofer. But I am wanting to swap it for the two aftermarket subwoofers I bought with an aftermarket amp. What would I need to make it work? Because I’m also wanting to keep the factory radio
This harness has the the remote wire right in the middle but where i have to connect this wire on mu car?
How do I get my front speakers to work!????? Send help
Will these work on a 2017 Journey with the 4.3" screen? I am wanting to add a subwoofer.... Thanks
Do you run your speaker wires from aftermarket amp to the speaker wire harness that connects to factory head unit?
Will this work with the 5.0 unconnect radio the smaller one with no factory amp
Hi. I have a 2015 challenger I want to install a aftermarket radio what parts do I need.
So this will work on a 2015 durango sxt with no amp? Please say yes it will 🙏🏽
Do I cut wires for an aftermarket amp on my highs and miss
Why not just get a Rockford Fosegate dsr-1??
Does the bass knob for the PAC fully cut out the subwoofer when turned down?
Pretty much.. it get’s it low enough to not hear it unless you literally put your ear on the subs
How do I get the front speakers to work? The rear works. I’m stuck send help
Did you ever find the fix I have the same issue
Hopefully someone will at least make a T harness for my 2018 Buick Regal soon 😥
Were I can find the original amplifier in dodge ram 2016
Will this work to bypass amp on 2014 C7 corvette?
Can anyone help please? I have a 2018 charger with the 8.4 NAV uconnect just the basic 6 speaker. I installed 2 12 SDR with a Skar rp1200, does anyone know the output for the radio? I have a LOC and not sure if I should use bass boost or not because I'm not sure what the output is if its restricted cause its a stock radio. Thanks
Will I need the wire harness àph ch01..with this
I hope they finish this soon. I went with the AC LC6. I would much rather have this with my PAC BCI-CH41 and VS41. I had to use resistors of the AC to get the audio to work. So getting this new PAC item, I would remove those resistors and be happier!!!
It will be out in about 2 weeks.
Five Star Car Stereo, thanks for the update. I recently bought the T-harness from Axxess you showed on a recent video & was about to add a few feet of 9 wire & capacitors...
Great Video, so does that come with a additional cord that plugs into the speaker harness that you can run directly to amp to keep everything plug and play?
Time to schedule my 13 Ram 1500 for this with new speakers and roadkill next spring.
Holy smokes.. I'm currently working on a 2016 Dodge Challenger with a Alpine system. Using a LCQ-1. I think this is exactly what I need! The LCQ-1 is great but I believe the amp pro would be better? What's your thoughts Dean?
P.s. Eric (@audio control) and I were talking about how awesome you guys are!
Yes you want to do the amp pro for your that car. Also they make a t harness for at the amp to give you all the speaker wires.
Thank you sooooo much Dean!! I can't tell you how much you just helped me out!! I owe ya!! Keep on rocking them video's!!!!
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc hey so I'm ordering the unit. Is the t harness just for aftermarket speakers?? I have the Alpine system and I'm just asking a mono amp for my subwoofers. Do I still need that harness add on on top of the ch41.r2
Hey so I'm assuming this provides a flat full band signal? Using low level out of the PAC module will the radio still roll off bass at higer volume levels?
Also do you still eq from the radio or is an external eq needed in line before the amplifier?
What about the new 5th gen rams?
I have a question the harness with the speaker connections you are connecting that to a aftermarket amp at the speaker outputs?
yes - and if you're using a non factory amp system, you will need to re-wire directly from amp to speakers.
@@crimsonsamuraiftw hey after plug the amp pro and get your rca output to the amp. You have to run each speaker to the aftermarket amp ?
Nice 👍👍👍👍
Link the product.
Quick question hopefully you can help me I have a 2019 ram non-amplified factory unit I just installed the amp pro and amplified all of the door speakers and dash speakers where did you tie into your dash speakers from after the amplifier? I’m getting an awful hissing sound also did you leave the active noise cancellation module in tact because Crutchfield gave me a bypass wire that completely discards the module it just plugs from the big white plug to the small black plug nothing else going into the module this does not seem right? Also the hiss is there whether the RCA’s are plugged in or not it’s not a ground issue because it does not change with high or low volume or any kind of engine revs it’s just a constant high pitched hiss 🐍 . Please help
Yes use the ANC bypass harness, it is a data wire that they remove. It sounds like your amp. Either the gain is to high or the quality may be to low. It is not the amp pro if you can unplug it and the noise is still there. Depending on applications we either use factory wires in dash or run new wires to amp.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc thanks man where are you guys located at seems like you really know your stuff
Because I have no sound in my truck After I change the engine 😭
I wish you guys would have a 2019+ Ram 2500 to do an aftermarket amp in! I am about to start mine and it's so different than a 1500.
If you find some direction with this let me know because I’m looking at doing the same lol
@@bearkawiboy6246 I had to get a Amp PRO, and a ANC Bypass by the foot well. Ran a 5 channel amp, 2 dash, 4 door speakers, and a pair of 10s.
@gol10dr45 did you have any issues with the speaker lead colors?
@@ceavalencia4767 I did not. It actually pretty simple and easy now that I've done it. You do need the ANC Bypass even though it says it not required.

What’s the advantage of using this over a LOC
Please tell me they are gonna make one of these for the 2016 ford escape with the 8inch non sony system?!?!?! Love the videos guys!
Have you guys ever integrated an audiocontrol LC7i to a 2017 silverado with bose? I have watched most of your videos with no luck. The harness offered by LLJ customs is $400!!. I know my way around high to low level converters but the bose interface seems to be a nightmare. Please help if possible. Hands down best channel for fellow installer
First off awesome videos! I have kind of off topic question. I just purchased a 2020 ram 1500 crew cab with the same 8.4 screen and six speakers. Did you guys have the issue where the volume literally bounces around the truck when it is turned up?? I swear it's something to do with the Active Noise Cancelling Bullshit! If need be, I'll be doing this with an amp and speakers. Any help will be appreciated and thank you!
Do they have a product for a 5.4 inch screen (smaller screens) with no premium sound? So that I can get preamp outputs. I know this video is for the 8 inch screen. I have a 2015 dodge Durango sxt. I'm trying to avoid using an audiocontrol lc7i, dont want to cut into the harness. Thank you!
No, it only work on the 8” because it was an option from the factory. The 5.4 does not have that.
@@FiveStarCarStereoInc do I just continue with plans with my audio control lc7i? Or is there a better and easier option?

no, this is for base 6 speaker non-amplified systems . you can just use the regular amp pro
Can this be used for only sub install. To hook up kicker bass station or similar.

I've a RF T1500-1BDCP without bass knob ... is there any advantage of buying the RF bass knob and connecting it to the amp versus using the knob on the AP4-CH41?

Bought it, love it, and yes works with the BCI module without issue.
Installing this on my 2019 ram. Can the knob be used as a bass knob? Or is it to just set the chimes?
When adding an AP4-CH41 along with aph-ch01 wire harness to a dodge challenger with 6 factory alpine speakers , do I need to install this module before replacing the door and rear deck speakers?
So does that mean i will have to change out the door speakers and add an amp for that or will it just work for a sub woofer
I wonder if it would work on the 5" display non amplified system?
Any ideas why ch 5/6 wouldn't work? All the others are having output just fine but when I connected my subwoofer and amp it does not work.
Great video. I had a professional install in a 2017 Jeep GC. Added 500 amp JL Audio 5ch and new speakers and sub. Everything is perfect except one major thing. There is a constant "hiss". It's noticable when volume lower or off or when a song has quiet moments. Super annoying. Anyone experience this?? Amp pro tech support said to use 4v setting and lower gains on amp. Didn't work. Installer not being helpful. Thoughts?
Good morning Dean. I have an audio control LC 1500 EpiCenter and a stinger capacitor, what order would I connect them. Thx
Off the battery to the cap then to amp. Keep cap close to amp. Radio output to Epicenter to amp. Keep radio sub crossover off or as high as it will go, use the crossover on the amp.
