Living in Melbourne Beach, I can tell you that this is the craziest thing I’ve ever seen!!! You could check it every day for 10 years and never see it like that. Congrats to brother!!

That house you’re at, the trail you took to check it etc.. been there so so many times. It’s crazy how things change over the years. It’s different than it was 10-15 years ago but that’s where I grew up. If that’s south side inlet than I’m George Clooney lol
Outside south jetty can get really good but inside south jetty yea right…. Inside north jetty gets decent tho
Outside South jetty as in Monster hole yes, not sure where this surfing is filmed but its not Sebastian. @@ChickenJoe-tq6xd and correct on Northside, scored fun little runners many times off that inside of the inlet
@@GarrettCarmichael-sj5jx outside south jetty is different from monster hole, monster hole is much further offshore, sometimes (rarely) the south jetty will break alongside the jetty and is a awesome little pointbreak. Last September during a tropical storm I was able to score south jetty and it was like 5-6 ft wave breaking at edge of south jetty all the way in, only 2 other guys out but it’s super sharky right their
@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd When you say all the way in I'm assuming you mean riding the wave into the beach on the south side of the southern jetty? The northern jetty blocks the NE swell from breaking inside the inlet over there and a southern swell pushes it right past and breaks inside the inlet on the northern jetty. Grew up surfing there my whole life, never ever seen it like this on that southern jetty. Not too mention the footage looks like it is from somewhere else then FL entirely?
@@GarrettCarmichael-sj5jx yea bro it’s really rare for it to break and ive only surfed it like 2-3 times when conditions were good, went over bridge and was amazed to see how the south side of south jetty was breaking, like probably 100 feet from the tip of jetty and it was a left that broke in same spot every single time, but yea this video is bs I think, I think it’s a different spot entirely. I’ve surfed south and north side of north jetty and south side of south jetty but I’ve never once seen north side of south jetty break

Ben I love you bro but hyperflex suits are so bonk they tear at the seam on the forearm mine has been repaired by them and still has ripped 4 time in the crotch and forearm I think I’ve used the suit a total of like 12 times and it’s ripped 4 out of twelve uses lol It was the gravy signature chest zip

I have never seen a ridable wave in that spot. I did surf inside the inlet back in the late sixties before the jetty was built on the north side. Great video Ben!

I would say the best wave when it is firing is reef road or pump house in WPB! The inlet was awesome back in the day before they ruined it!

fisherman could have an entire empty beach to fish on, and they will invariable choose to fish the only spot that has waves.

There's a really really good reason nobody has seen the south side inside inlet like that. Ha ha. You either get it or you don't. Looks like many don't.
I’ve scored 5-6 ft outside south jetty with only 2 people out last tropical storm but yea been surfing here my whole life and never seen south jetty remotely like that, definitely a different spot

There's another that's kind of similar. Inside the jetty at new Smyrna gets some pretty wild rights. Scored it on a big northeastern once (makes zero sense I know) and another time on a southeast.. years back it's been awhile since I've surfed that let alone the actual break. the sharks and crowds are too crazy. Most consistent spot on the east coast gotta risk it for the biscuit.
Marineland might have some novelties, and matansas inlet certainly. Little Talbot Island is magic like New Smyrna has crazy sandbars way down the point definitely novelties. Ide love to link up on a session at one of the spots noone really surfs the weird spots because they are sharky lol.

@@TSSurf haha wow keen eye I think you may be correct. Watched it again. I figured that spot wasn't able to work like that never seen it even close to breaking. Cheeky misdirection had me sold. The thing that wasnt adding up was the daytime building swell there wasn't a daytime building swell with clean conditions anytime this year let alone last week. It was about that size Friday clean conditions but it was dropping throughout the day.
Nonetheless looked super fun.

This 100% is not the south jetty at Sebastian Inlet, way too shallow and rocks are way too high. This has to be Cali.
I think I agree the only time I've seen it break it crumbled, real soft and mushy there's no way It would be top to bottom like that. I've been going to the SBI sense I was a child. To surf and fish and both are top notch but there's no way....

Ive lived and Surfed in Central Florida for 30 years and the last 17 times Ive checked First Peak it didnt exist- I remember the early 90's trading waves with people like Matt Kechele- Paul Reineke- David Speir- The Hobgoods- even the GOAT since he was still coming home back then - maybe it can be brought back after the sand refurbishment killed it
It exists and you can see the remnants of the old wave on bigger days but it’s all wonky now

I don't know, kinda doesn't look like Florida at all and absolutely looks like inside the Mission Beach Harbor in San Diego... Maybe some serious editing was done to not blow up the spot like he did in La Jolla...? I feel like Ben's acting about the spot was horrible, trying to sell the "wind swell". Technically the Clearwater pass inlet up by the rocks on the north side is the longest barrel in the state, it rifles for almost 200 yds but only once a decade, i DON'T CARE IF EVERYONE KNOWS, i SHARE THE STOKE
