Darkseid VS Trigon | Justice League Dark: Apokolips War

Following two failed attempts at conquering Earth, Darkseid and his armies continue conquering other worlds. The Justice League devise a plan to defeat Darkseid by infiltrating Apokolips while leaving the Teen Titans on Earth to defend it. Unbeknownst to them, Darkseid spies on the League through Cyborg. The League are overwhelmed and defeated by Paradooms and a majority of the heroes from both the League and the Titans are killed, while those who survive are placed into Darkseid's slavery.
Two years later, Darkseid has placed devices known as "Reapers" which mine the planet's core. The surviving heroes blame Clark Kent / Superman for leading them into failure. Superman has been forcibly depowered after Darkseid tattooed his chest with liquid kryptonite. He and Raven, who has been struggling to maintain her father Trigon's imprisonment seek John Constantine for a location spell to track Damian Wayne. Although reluctant to help at first, considering himself a coward for fleeing during the initial attack on Darkseid and leaving his lover Zatanna to die, Constantine locates Damian at a League of Assassins outpost. Clark explains to Damian they need him to help free his father Batman from Darkseid's mind control. Damian reluctantly agrees to join the group.
The group travel to Stryker's Island in Metropolis and meet with Clark's wife Lois Lane who has recruited the Suicide Squad to their cause, now led by Harley Quinn. Clark and Lois reveal their plan to infiltrate LexCorp and use a boom tube to return to Apokolips and kill Darkseid. Meanwhile, the remaining heroes launch an attack on the Reapers but are slowly killed battling the Paradooms. At the building, they are confronted by Lex Luthor, who reveals he was working with Lois to gain intel on Darkseid. The group splits into two with Clark, Raven, Constantine, and Etrigan the Demon going to Apokolips and Lois, Luthor, and the Squad remaining at the building to defend the boom tube. Batman informs Darkseid of Luthor's betrayal, prompting Batman to send Paradooms and the newly converted mechanical Furies after the heroes.
Upon arrival, Clark's group is attacked by the Furies, consisting of cybernetic versions of Wonder Woman, Mera, Hawkman, Starfire, and Martian Manhunter. Etrigan is killed by Wonder Woman, but Constantine manages to break her free using her Lasso of Truth. She decides to stay behind to fend off the other Furies as the group head on. They next rescue Flash from a treadmill powering Apokolips; Constantine learns that Flash had altered the timeline in the past. Shortly thereafter, they are confronted by Cyborg, who has been integrated into the planet's network. Constantine frees Cyborg from Darkseid's control, which also frees the remaining Furies as they are about to overpower Wonder Woman. Darkseid orders Batman to kill Damian but he hesitates when he is reminded of his parents' death, which breaks him free of Darkseid's mind control. In a fit of rage, Darkseid tries to kill Batman but is intercepted by Damian, who dies in Batman's arms. His death overwhelms Raven, her sudden emotional instability setting Trigon free. Constantine offers his body as a vessel for Trigon, but he refuses and takes Clark's body instead, purging the kryptonite from his body, restoring his powers, and killing Constantine. Trigon attacks Darkseid. Constantine is briefly visited by Zatanna in the afterlife, who reveals she used a spell to manipulate Constantine to flee back to Earth as part of a contingency plan prepared by Batman. Simultaneously, Raven and Zatanna revive Damian and Constantine.
Back at LexCorp, Lois's team is surrounded by Paradooms, prompting them to initiate a self-destruct. Lois transmits a goodbye message to Apokolips with Cyborg's assistance. Her death shocks Clark back to his senses and frees him from Trigon's possession. Constantine and Raven agree to combine their magic to give Trigon a physical body so he can continue fighting Darkseid. Cyborg reveals his plan to teleport the Paradooms back to Apokolips while dragging the planet into a boom tube with no exit. Cyborg teleports the heroes back to Earth and commences his plan. Relishing the battle, Trigon prevents Darkseid's escape as they are dragged into oblivion.
Despite their victory, Batman reveals one-third of Earth's magma has been drained by the Reapers, the planet's rotation was compromised, and that people will continue to die by the millions before the League can potentially find a solution. As a result, Constantine convinces Flash to run back in time and reset the timeline again despite knowing that the world will not be the same as before. Flash eventually agrees. Damian and Raven share a kiss as they and the remaining heroes watch as the timeline resets as a bright light covers the entire world, leaving their ultimate fate unknown.

The best of this climax is how everyone's fighting to save all of reality while Trigon just decided to throw hands for shits and giggles. He had no reason to pull Darkseid into the portal or go with him, but fucking with a new god was just too good of an opportunity to pass up for some laughs.

I do like how it’s implied that Trigon was aware of their plan. He just likes combat enough and was angered by Darkseid’s disrespect that he choose to fight for all eternity with him. I also thinks he is confidence at some level he would be able to return

Darkseid has the ability to go toe-to-toe with Trigon, but being on easy mode with no one to challenge him has made him complacent and sloppy.

Darksied's initial entry shows that Superman or Wonder woman can trade blows with him, In Justice League War.
But if you watched Justice League versus Teen Titans, you'd see just how powerful Trigon is. Superman, wonder woman, flash, they couldn't even get Trigon's attention. They attacks had no effect on him & they were defeated like actual flies.
Darkseid & superman are relative in power, Trigon is in a far different league.
@Tmg2053. Darkseid is weaker than Trigon but no, superman and Diana are not on par with him. In the first JL war, Darkseid hit superman miles away from himself with his omega effect and knocked superman clean out. Were it not for plot armor, he could've killed him. In the end, it took the combined efforts of: Clark, Diana, Flash, Cyborg, GL and Shazam to beat Darkseid.

Omega beams aside, superman can physically battle him as did wonder woman; who was trading blows.

Superman & wonder woman can stand & trade blows with darkseid, because their in the same realm of power.
Trigon could fight superman, wonder woman, flash & even darkseid all at once (if they choose to be consistant with his power display in justice league vs teen titans)
@@tmg2053As far as I am aware both Trigon and Darkside are imensly powerfull, only limited by their form(author), since Darkside is from another dimension which he sends minions/week clones of himself. while trigon is from another dimension aswell. soo honestly it is down to the author how strong they are,since they are both limited by something.

The only time even his true form is struggling is when he had to fight Anti-Monitor which is like the most OP villain in the DC universe.

There's something almost terrifying about the fact that on seeing the portal, Trigon not only laughed, but he gleefully jumped in once he had Darkseid to take with him.
This implies that A) Trigon knows exactly what's on the other side of a portal to nowhere, and B) he's confident he can take Darkseid and all of Apocalypse by himself, and then if he ever got bored, find his way back to somewhere.
This is a serious possibility, Trigon is on some Cthulu level eldritch business.

Then Trigon replied..

best part to this entire scene is Trigon saying Thank you to his daughter for allowing some fight time with all that pent up anger hes had over the years
Imma say this, to me thanos always feel like he's trying to do too much. Darkseid seems like he's too good to fight unless he has too. And this version of trigon(not too familiar with the comic version) is putting everyone in their place
Unlike Dark Said, who does everything simply because he wants everyone to be under his command, Thanos does everything with a purpose, he never does anything for nothing, he always does something with a purpose, most of the time he faces the Avengers or other heroes is because they get in his way, but he usually doesn't care about facing the heroes as long as they don't get in his way. less clear that among their plans if they find killing deserted heroes there are no other ways to

@@Voltz6000 darkseid’s true form is really only a new 52 thing, and infinite frontier pretty much combined all versions of darkseid. Pre 52, even post 52 from what I’ve seen, true form darkseid is ignored.

The difference between Trigon and Darkseid, Darksied is a villain and Trigon is a devil Lord... Darkseid is evil to a certain degree, he challenge his opponents to see who's power is stronger... Darkseid gives you a choice to join him to rule the galaxies, Darkseid gives you a second chance to prove you are self worthy and will grant you for what ever you asked for to become his greatest apprentice... Darkseid has 75-85 percent of abilities and can mostly defeat every villain or hero but only to a certain degree... while Trigon is pue evil with no good in his heart, mind and soul and haves every ability that every villain and hero can do... Trigon does not only wants to rule galaxies, he wants to rule worlds and dimensions and will make a promise to you if you do what ever he asked for but as you succeed of what ever he asked for you to do for him in a favor and you go back and say, I've done what you asked, now where or are you going to give me what I want in return? he will take back the promise he said he was going to give you and lies to your face saying I never promised you anything or say to you I lied while laughing and will torcher you over and over for eternity in the demon world and does not give you no second chance even if you fail or succeed... Every demon is a afraid of Trigon but will do what ever he commands you to do while they torcher each other to see who's better and stronger even though he does not care for neither nor himself for his heart is pure black with not one percent of good...
Trigon wins unless Raven does what Trigon is supposed to do is let him loose and take over everything, otherwise he cannot leave the demon world...

Bare i mind superman couldn't dodge his omega beams and flash could keep ahead long enough for them to dissipate through multiple targets but was out of breath at the end, where as Trigon just side steps them multiple times

Wonder woman also threw boulder at the back of Trigons head and he didnt flinch. He took on the JL and TT without having parademons with doomsday DNA to fight them.

Ngl coolest fight in the entire thing and unfortunately it’s barely even focused on or long enough. Seriously it’s the personification of Dominion vs Universal Satan. Why cut that short I mean they’re already very closely matched in the comics and stuff.
