Cross RC HC6 | Can It Really Crawl Serious Rocks?

- For one thing I needed to test if my suspension tweaks had worked (yes) and my latest tweak had fixed the gearshifting (kind of). And for another I wanted to see what this location was like for tiny trucks (pretty awesome, though probably awesomer without quite so much rain).
So I went here and did this.
These are some pretty severe rocks for the HC6, and they're slippery too, but with its GMade tyres and lower gearing it did really impressively well. For such a scale truck this thing is hardcore!
See more of this truck at RC_Crawlers_Mid_Wales on Instagram, and happy trails!
The truck so far:
Cross RC HC6 kit
GMade 1902 1.9in tyres
Hobbywing 1080 esc
DS 3235sg 35KG waterproof servo (steering)
PowerHD 1501MG servo (gear change)
Flysky six-channel receiver
0.6 mod 16T pinion (stock is 18T)
A very capable truck, and another amazing location, great video I thoroughly enjoyed watching.
Thank you! I'm pleased you enjoyed it, and thanks for letting me know. 😎👍
That's the best made video I've seen from this truck. Very realistic shots and it performs better than expected
Thanks very much, glad you liked it! And yeah, it's really pretty impressive on the rocks. 😎👍
Fresh and great movie 😎Had good time watching this cool video, with smooth action 🎥🎬Thanks for sharing and keep on crawling my RC Friend 🚙💨 Big thumb up👍
Thank you, that's great to hear! 😎👍
Another sensational movie mate.. everything about it was top notch...
Cheers👍
Thanks Mick! This was a spot I hadn't driven before, but it worked out well. I didn't think the HC6 was going to handle it so well, to be honest, but it was pretty awesome. 👍
Wow great truck in another fantastic location. I think this is my favorite Cross truck. It really showed off the changes in the suspension.
Thanks for keeping us in great videos
Stay safe.
Steve
Thanks! I do like the Cross Ural and the MC8, but they're both pretty expensive - and the HC6 is probably a bit more capable too. I don't know why I keep being surprised by what these things will go up, but I am... 🤷♂️😂
Cheers, and all the best! 👍
Very impressive. Suspension action true to scale. Pleasure to watch👍👏
Thanks! There's just something about watching multi-axle trucks articulate... 👍
Goodness! What a piece of kit you´ve built - it´s very impressive indeed.
Thanks! It's a chunky old thing, it pretty much just intimidates the rocks into submission... 🤣
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 Ha ha - that´s the spirit...
Clearly it is a yes. Very impressive. Again what a location. The suspension looks well sorted. The front was giving a nice reaction. Nice bounce. T.
Maybe you should try the Mammoth here...
Excellent job sir!! Cross builds fine military trucks but you have made it better😁😁
Thanks! It's still pretty stock really... just the tyres and some small suspension tweaks. Oh, and a slightly smaller pinion gear (that really helps for slow control). I'm just hoping I've finally got the gear shift working properly again... 🤞😁
Great display of the trucks capabilities. Good grip & articulation on those rough rocks. Good video quality too!
Thank you! 👍
Wow about 30 seconds in and the rocks look though have been carved into stair case!! 😱
Ha yeah, they do! Not easy to find lines up all of them, but loads of fun. 👍
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 looks it! Top job! 👍
Great video, looks beautiful! By how much did you slow down the video? It looks very scale this way. And 2nd: compared to a 4x4, would you say the extra axle brings extra performance? I own the BC8, and I am wondering whether to go for this one, or the HC4 next. Thanks! :)
Thanks! I slowed this by 50 percent, and filmed it at 120fps - so at 60fps it's still good and smooth. I like the extra impression of weight it gives at those settings.
Good question about the HC4... it's really hard to say, especially as you have a BC8! I drove with one just recently and basically anything the bumper cleared it just mashed its way up. You've already got amazing performance with those eight huge tyres.
The HC6 is more nimble though, with better ground clearance and approach/departure angles. I do think it goes up things the HC4 (or similar) wouldn't just because of that extra axle, but I haven't actually driven one so really can't say for sure.
Either one sounds fun, really... 😎👍
another great video.nice at the very start just see the truck appearing.as your truck is wet a lot of the time what do you do with to dry it out?
Cheers! Sometimes I use a compressor to blow the water out of all the nooks and crannies (I should do it more often really), but usually I just wash it and stand the truck at various angles near a radiator. Then I lube the driveshafts and axle ends. The other day I even got to dry one out in the sun! 👍
Waw.. very nice video sinematic 🙂👍
Thanks a lot! 😊👍
nice video man love the crawling
Thanks! 👍
very nice cross
Thank you! 👍
One word EXELENT
Thanks very much! 😎👍
If I get get this, duce and a half, it's going to have John Rambo behind the wheel.
🤣 Nice, I like your thinking! 😎👍
Great rig. Great vid
Cheers! Curious to see what you make of yours, now... 👍
Brilliant video, were you to scale this up to full size, it would probably out perform any other vehicle out there, I've gone the H.G. route for my military rc vehicles but i suspect they wouldn't perform quite as well as this one.....
Thanks! HG does make some very tempting things - I particularly like the Hemtt and the Hummer. It'd be great to run the Cross against the Hemtt. Maybe one day...
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 yeh I've got the p801 tractor, the p806 trailer the p602 which sits on the trailer very nicely 👌 and the p408 hummer, which is 1/10 so doesn't look quite right....
@@peterbonney8301 Nice - that trailer is spectacular as well. Can it handle rough terrain much?
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 it's limited to the power of the tractors ability and power, obviously large rocks are insurmountable but rough terrain and reasonable slopes don't seem to be a problem, i have a shingle drive and it's very capable on that, even when carrying the p602 and it has open diffs, i decided not to lock them as i didn't want to put too much pressure on the transmission. ..the trailer weighs 10 kilo's empty and the p602 is close that....
Great video bro 👌
😎👍
😳😳😳..... what...?!!! Wuooou...💪💪💪👏👏👏👍👍👍
😎👍
I like the other kit as well fc6
Yeah, the FC6 looks fantastic. 👍
