These aren't scientific but they're a lot of fun to film. We listened to your feedback from the first frozen pizza test video: ruclips.net/video/4yXAv___4UQ/видео.html and blinded this test. I like "Jack's" cheap little thin Pizza (I think Nestle's Produces) not much Crust, mostly about the Cheese and Sauce, and a Perfect Size for me too tackle by itself, and also the Cheapest in the Store, I just throw it in the Air-Fryer and the Whole Process (because I throw it in before the Oven is fully heated) takes less than 15 Minutes...

The Motorcity Pizza deep dish pepperoni from Costco is the best frozen pizza of all time. Cook it a little more than the box says to get the bottom nice and crispy. The crust is what makes this one great.

I put my oven on convection and also add extra Hormel pepperoni on top and shred some part skim mozza from Costco. Then broil it for a minute at the end to brown the cheese and crisp the pepperoni a bit more before the paper tray starts to burn from the boiling.

Brush the bottom of the included baking pan and the sides of the pizza generously with olive oil (or drizzle if you're nasty) before baking- the crust will get perfectly crisp while the inside will be chewy and nicely done. Sublime!

Screamin’ Sicilian is my “go to” for frozen pizza. The sauce is the most flavorful part of a pizza, and it has not only the most, but also the best sauce of any frozen pizza in my opinion. The two big drawbacks to frozen pizza have always been crust like cardboard, and no sauce.
They’re also almost obscenely generous with the pepperoni. ❤

I've been sampling a lot of different frozen pizzas over the past couple years, and Screamin Sicilian is by far my favorite for the price. Frozen pizzas need their uniqueness, and Screamin does it the best in terms of toppings, sauce and crust IMO. When you can get a fresh take out pizza from the main franchises for under 10 bucks, you better be making a damn good, and unique, frozen pizza if you want to compete with that price point.

There’s something called Steubenville style pizza where they have a crispy, thick, caramelized crust, with cooked sauce and they out raw cheese and pepperoni (or whatever), on top right out of the oven, so the toppings are partially cooked and partially raw. It was really different and good. Sauce on the sweeter side. This place was in Columbus by campus but based on a place in Steubenville OH, like the Cbus one had to change its name eventually

One thing interesting about your excellent taste tests is possibly the adult taste palette vs. a youngster. Sweet, vs. salty... Umami vs. Bitter, sweet and sour and so forth. Your son has a very sophisticated palette for his age, but the difference in ranking results is also good, because all our tastes differ, as in wine selection and preference. Kudos!

I think an interesting angle would've been to look at the ingredients of the pepperoni afterwards. For instance, I think alot of pepperoni in these frozen pizzas tend to be a pork/beef (sometimes chicken) mix. I tend to judge if a pizza is "premium" if it only lists pork as the meat of the pepperoni.
Also I'm sure I've been making frozen pizza wrong all my life, but I never put it on the oven grates directly. I'll put it on a baking sheet since I don't want any cheese/sauce etc potentially coming off the pizza and melting onto the oven itself.

I love the motor city pie! When it comes out of the oven I place it on a platter that has lots of olive oil, salt, pepper and oregano on it. Let it cool down on the platter and the mau down!

Great comparison! I'll say, I do like a more sweet pizza sauce, and that's the only time I add sugar to sauce (and, a dipping sauce for fried zucchini).I grew up eating Ellio's at Long Island roller skating rinks for years, so even though we have access to amazing pizzerias around us here, there's nostalgia in the frozen pie. There's 2 in my freezer now! (Too much Pinot Grigio and the oven goes on at midnight 😂) Another great review guys!

California Pizza Kitchen Margherita Pizza is one of the few I actually like. The second you start adding toppings you gotta worry about the frozen pizza quality. Weirdly enough bagel bites do pepperoni better than most legit frozen pizza lol

I have been buying the Motor City Double Pepperoni at Costco pretty regularly. Having had Detroit style pizza several times while working there, I'd say it's a pretty good representation. I'm not a purist who insists that there is only one good style of pizza, and can appreciate the huge variety of styles we can get from New York style, to Chicago deep dish, and everything in between. Every time I travel to a new city, I have to check out what kind of pizza the locals are into.

@@Whatsinanameanyway13 I actually just sampled the Motor City at costco today. My first initial bite i wasn't impressed with the crust but then as soon as i swallowed it i was like, oh that was pretty good. So I will probably pick up a pack on my next trip.

The Motor City is best if you almost overcook it a little and eat it very hot. Detroit Style pizza is excellent.

Great video! Frozen pizza was a way of life for me in my youth. I remember standing in front of the 7-11 eating their microwave mini pepperoni pizzas on a freezing cold Midwest day rather than endure my schools hot lunch program lol. As an adult I used to buy the Kirkland brand from Costco and use my own toppings but too much sodium for me now.

In the UK there's a brand called Crosta & Mollica and it is the best shop-bought pizza I've ever tasted. Their pepperoni one has Nduja on it too and it is tremendous. They also do a couple of white pizzas (no sugo) and I've never seen that before in a store-bought pizza. The base is sourdough and it's delicious. I strongly recommend to UK viewers. although it's 1.5 - 2 times the price of most others. I don't work for Crosta and Mollica btw :)

Newmans own sauce is made and bottled by LiDestri Food and Drink in Fairport, NY (outside of Rochester). They use Newmans own formulation and exacting quality standards. Paul Newman even visited the plant many many years ago.

I agree with you on Motor City Pizza Co.
I found that scooping most of the spilled toppings from between the container and the pizza, putting it back on top and then pouring a drizzle of olive oil around the sides of the pizza before you cook it, gives it a much better crust. I only cook for minimum recommended time, then let sit for 5-10 min before cutting.
Also my #2 is Kirkland pepperoni, and 3rd is Screamin' Sicilian. Good job on this video!

I'm in Wisconsin. For me, and what we have available to us, my favorites, in order: Connie's, Lottza Mottza, Home Run Inn, Screamin' Sicilian, Jack's.
And for me, the sauce is the key component to any pizza. Connie's has the best I've ever tasted on a frozen pizza, not to mention the crust is incredible! It's got a little chew to it that I've never encountered outside an actual pizza place.
