STEELHEAD SCOUTING TRIP PART 1 - DAYS 1 & 2 - 3 RIVERS IN 4 DAYS - Oregon Coastal Steelhead Fishing.

- I spent 4 days scouting new steelhead water on the Oregon Coast. 3 rivers in 3 days; 1 of the rivers I've fished a couple times previously, the other 2 I had never been to. The river levels were high most of the month of January, so I wasn't expecting much, but I learned a bunch and did find some success.

Man, I’ve had a lot of those days! Somehow though, despite the rain, wind and blown out river you still can’t resist taking another cast. It really is a sickness!😂
I’m steelhead sick for sure! 😉
Happy retirement! More fishing! Hooray. 🐟🔥
Thank you! That’s my plan. 🎣
I used to love fishing that river since I was a kid, it’s gotten way to many people fishing it now , I still live in the coastal town you went through, to get up there, the steelhead returns havent been the same since back in 2018 , still has fish in tho just not as many as it used too, gotta love the snags in that river though 😂I’ve lost endless jigs and beads there, go back in the summer and wade thoroughly it and get them back!
It’s a beautiful river! It was much lower the last few times I fished it. I just couldn’t drive by there and not fish it. 🎣
Congrats on your retirement!
Thank You Tim!
the landscape is just beautiful! and also, thanks for your service!!
It was a cool area, I will go back when conditions are better. And thank you!
Congrats on retirement and Thank You for your service!
Thank you Sir!
Congrats on your retirement. I hope you get to enjoy many more days fishing and hunting. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you David! Now that the weather is better, I’ve been able to get out more. 🎣
Am I the only one who paused it on the thumbnail to try and see what river was being scouted? 😂. Congrats on the retirement.
Spoiler! That is a total fictitious OnX screenshot. 😂
And thank you!
@RAGEFISHING was gunna say I doubt you posted the actual river your scouting🤣
@@ChandlerNoll I figured the Sasquatch sighting waypoint gave that away. 😄
Boy, that first place was hungry for your gear! That second river gives up some real monsters. I think my brain got soggy just watching you fish in that deluge. After that rain, im hoping you are heading up to that area i mentioned to you a couple weeks ago. It may be the only place in play. At first i was stunned when you mentioned you had only one rod! But i understand why you are doing it that way! Congrats on 30 years!
Thanks William! Nope, on the river you suggested. 😞 I had a couple in mind I wanted to look at, you’ll like the one in part 2, it’s gorgeous, and (spoiler) I found a willing biter. 🎣
I told Greg at Blood-Run that you show his hooks often. Hit him up and maybe get an endorsement! Tell 'Em Duke sent ya. I love your attitude and your vids. I hope to see you on the water soon, I'm looking for a raft now. Keep doing what you are. It's enjoyed by many people.🤙🎣👍👍👍
Thank you sir! Gregg at Bloodrun has been great. We’ve been in touch. Thank you for your input, I truly appreciate it! 🎣
Congratulations on retirement
Thank you!
You driving my streets in the intro 😂
You recognize that place eh? 😁
Well, yeah i live in coos bay/north bend :)
I would like for you to show us more of your flunking technique lol. Did you see any Sasquatch at all?😊
😂 Flunking turned out to be exactly like its name implies. But I didn’t have any plunking gear with me, it’s not really my style. And I’m always hoping to see the big guy out there! 😁
Just stumbled on to your videos. Started with cameras videos. Wow sir loving your adventures and can’t wait to watch more videos.
Congrats on joining Retirement club. I did that back in 2015 and well had to go back to work too.
I am buying a GoPro12 and using your affiliate link. Your affiliate link from r battery charger not working. I would like to make sure you get something. Also looking for some kind of external power source for mounting to 2 cameras mounted on boat. So if you have affiliate links please let me know.
They should be listed in the part 1 video of filming fishing. The only problem with running external batteries is you give up waterproofness. However, on nice days, I run an external battery on my tripod camera by replacing the battery door with one that has the slot allowing the USB-C to reach the charging port. It protects the sd slot and battery area from dust and such, just not watertight.
I made some changes to the affiliates links page on part 1, and added a section “FOR RECORDING WITH EXTERNAL BATTERY”.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
And thanks again! I appreciate it. 👍🏻
@@RAGEFISHING Thank you sir just ordered a bunch of stuff using those links. Wanted to make sure since it was your videos that helped me decide you get the monetary credit as well.
@jamesb196 you’re awesome. Thank you. I use the Amazon Commissions to reinvest in the channel. I don’t make much in advertising quite yet, so that really helps keep it practical. 😊
I am nosey as to what field you retired from?
Public Service. 👮🏻♂️
When I first started watching your videos I thought you looked like law enforcement. Congratulations you made it🎉. Time to move on to a safer field. A friend of mine retired from the Phoenix PD & now is working in a type of livestock regulation enforcement. He still has to carry a sidearm. Keep up the videos. I share your station as much as I possibly can. Take care
@mikewright3810 thank you Mike! If you want more details you can email me at ragefishing@aol.com or message me on my facebook page @ Rage Fishing.
