Just a Reminder to look into playing doom eternal

Hi. Hello. More big dog time.
Though it depends on the sidequest and area, it generally would be good to wait except in the case of a sidequest you'll unlock after this story section. Without spoiling too much, taking atreus with you to the sidequest in vanaheim is much more fun and the conversations they have are well worth it, I think.
Unfortunately, I also had issues with hacksilver during my playthrough and was really only able to fully upgrade stuff post-story.
Hildisvíni the boar. Freya does actually have a sort of pet boar in the sagas, though it rarely makes an appearance. Its not a shapeshifter in the myths i dont think but i actually like the liberty taken with this one. Vanir are known for their shapeshifting and magic if nothing else, so it wouldn't be that odd for the pet of the Vanir queen to be a shapeshifter as well. Why he has a bow? im not entirely sure.
Could you imagine how often people have to fix their door hinges because of Kratos constantly slamming doors.
I agree humidity is awful and cold is great. Unfortunately where I live is hell, we either have too much humidity or way not enough, and cold is rare.
Æsir blaming the vanir for war is rich coming from odin, who is probably the most bloodthirsty, warmongering character in myth/fiction.
Skoll and Hati are interesting I think. In myth, they might be the children of Fenrir based off their last names being Hróðvitnisson; Hróðvitni possibly being another name for Fenrir. The other possibility is that Skoll is Fenrir, though that theory doesn't have much in the way of evidence.
Their names are pretty damn metal as Skoll means "the one who mocks" and Hati being "the one who hates". In the myths Skoll chases the Sun and Hati the Moon in the forms of chariots driven by Jotun (or Æsir?) Sol and Mani, Sun and Moon respectively. The day both the Sol and Mani are killed by the wolves and consumed, ragnarok is supposed to begin.
Gow threw most of the mythological basis out the window for them so shrug i guess. Either way they look great as far as depictions go and i wish to hug them.
I dont think the moon ever gets stolen in myth? Though there are many references to attempts of trying to kidnap Mani (and Sol) so maybe thats the reference.
Star Wars reference maybe? "Its a trap" and a moon. Maybe just me but Id like to think so. There are lots of other pop culture references so not that out of place.
Interesting depiction of a wyvern. More bird like than it probably should be. More like a beast from Mesopotamian or South American myth than Norse.
Oh look a total eclipse. Another sign of ragnarok.
I honestly thought the wand/stick thing skoll and hati give was a lint roller the first time.
"It will not come to that" (in reference to fighting asgard) give it like an hour kratos. Yes, it certainly will.
That seems to be very true. Kratos is a literal psychological opposite to Odin. Well spotted.
Where'd they get explosives? You are way off from gunpowder or any other primary explosive. How.
Ew Lunda. Just ew. Not uncommon in ancient times, unfortunately.
Hildisvíni is voices by James C. Mathis III as in the man who voices most animated depictions of Black Panther and a very common voice in video games like Dead Space, Far Cry, GTA and the Last of Us. He also voiced in many English dubbed anime such as Baki Hanma, Beastars, and Record of Ragnarok. A quite common, good voice actor.
Poor Freyr. They set the man on fire.
I really liked the Heimdall fight. If not just to get the conclusion of Heimdall being a sniveling ass. And i like how the spear works.
I am somewhat interested as to why they didn't have atreus kill heimdall seeing as thats what happens during ragnarok.
If ever there was a scene in this game that would give you an age restriction, it would be heimdall's death.
Flying folding boat is both accurate and awesome.
How do you know what a hurricane is Brok?
There goes the set up for the side quest I mentioned at the start. Chase the dog.

Did not know Loki killed Heimdall in the Mythos, but it does feel right that Kratos does it in this version. And I'm going to guess the side quest you're talking about is at the very end where the dog is barking? Follow him?

@TheeDoubleD in the battle of singasteinn (spelling?) Loki and heimdall fight and kill eachother, in some interpretations shapeshifted into seals and usually fighting over a magic necklace that belongs to freya called bresingamen.
Yes. Youll be prompted to follow beyla's barking and paw prints when you head to the realm portal. That leads to the sidequest. Its a quite good one and it unlocks a huge area.
