This is the most commercial of Vulpeck's albums to date. It could be a clever strategy to reach a little more of the mainstrem but, either way, brilliant as always. Jack is a genius who, perhaps, will never be properly recognized.
i think it could also be now that most of them are established solo acts + side projects, Vulfpeck is now where they come together for the more commercial/musical theatrey stuff. Whereas the raw funk is more for side projects/solo acts Still brilliant.
@millsymb1883 i understand both of your points... but they've always been in both worlds, mainstream and niche. I mean Back Pocket was used in an Apple commercial, pretty mainstream i'd say lol Jacob has definitely brought in some nice pop elements and him and Antwaun seem to have sooo much fun on stage. It's so cool to see them evolve over the years, while keeping true to their roots. Glad to see they still have a few instrumentals on the album as well, not really something i'd consider mainstream :)
@@bkdoodles i think the vocal tracks are very especially of note but every track on here is classic vulfpeck earworm that i can say there is not a single track i outright "dislike" or "hate" even though if i were to highlight a few earworm favorites in a rough order from top favorites to bottom favorites it would be: 1. This Is Not the Song I Wrote 2. Matter of Time | Big Dipper | Tender Defender 3. La Gioconda | Can You Tell | In Real Life 4. New Beast | Memories | Aug 29 5. The Heist again to reiterate: i didnt put the instrumental tracks at the bottom because i "dislike" them at all - theyre all really solid. its just that those vocal tunes, man. so good. theyve been stuck in my head for weeks now.
I was at one of the Berkeley shows and everyone who got to see Charles sing Baby I Don't Know doesn't know how fuckin' lucky they are. That was perfection.
@@Byrdseed lolll sick!! we were at barricade for the first show but decided to go to the balcony for night 2. i'd never sat in the balcony at the Palladium but it's a pretty good view!
@@matshanssen2070 Did I say anywhere in the title/description that it was HQ audio? I know we're all anticipating the album coming out, but take your negative energy somewhere else bud. Have a great day!

commercial in what sense? writing wise? certainly not recording, by virtue of being a catalog release recorded on stage but not marked as a live album
its genuinely uncountable as to how much ive listened to these recordings of clarity of cal cuz the tracklist is so good
Same here. which one won't leave your head?
