Perhaps I misunderstood your question- but - The grooves are the moulded edge of fiberglass to the floorboard gap, allowing the floorboard a small amount of movement as you prise it up & out. Without the small gap, lifting floorboards would be a bit of a problem. Floorboards need to be routinely lifted for cleaning, inspection & access to any closed off part of the boat. The screws can be a bit alkward to free, though. It looks like you have a Bavaria- great boats!
Well I have to congratulate you Laura. Yes you have toughened up as a sailor & there is a way to go yet. I have followed you from the beginning & enjoy your ep's and the boy's. clever little buggers. But at some point you will encounter big seas. And I mean big. Trust first your skipper. Then your boat. If skip has done his checks then all is good. Keep up your effort I want to see you treating it as if it was natural to you. But as you are doing. Baby steps are working.
Thanks so much for sharing this - My sea legs were there all along I just needed to let go and trust Ross, my instincts, Holly and Mother Nature….now if I’m on land for any period of time I crave the ocean so bad! ❤️🙏🦋
Hope ya'll had a Very Merry Christmas. And a Happy New Year🥂 . Thank You for this week's video🎥 and looking forward for the next one. Ok until next week, Aloha from the Big Island 🏝of Hawaii 🏞🍹

Great vidwo of a beautiful sail/motor. It's so much fun watching how the four of you truly enjoy each other as a family. All the best for continued joy, laughter, health, and successful travels for the new year! Thanks for allowing us to come along... For Josh and Noah: What do you call a pig that does karate? A pork chop!
Leap of faith I ❤️ it my beloved may Jesus guide you in life and happiness ALL Glory to our Holy Abba for you are a beautiful, wonderful, magnificent the only wise living God I ❤️ you in Jesus name, Amen.
Fine and warm greetings to you all. Yes... about these grooves around the floor panels... maybe you noticed they are screwed to... to be able to unscrew & get access to what's under it (sealed = no access) (first job next year = unscrew and check below ;-))😁
No faith required, just seamanship when a 7/8.. ( alwats add F1 to forecast for Delos/ Mykonos).. otherwise coffee in S bay. Pinned to marina quay here once for 4 days. G
Great video, love your journey, you both had the biggest excuse not to do this - your kids but you have gone @@@@ it lets give us and our children the life we want and why not - this is proof that you can do it and if people are wanting to and haven’t it’s only their excuses and putting obstacles in the way! As for the grooves get some clear sealant on those and job done (well Ross’s)!! 😂 keeping living the high life guys and look forward to the next video 🙌🏼
If your autopilot isn't holding a steady course under sail then it might need adjusting. You can usually set the speed it reacts to changes in course and how far it will go off course before adjusting. There is a trade off with electricity consumption. For longer sailing trips you really need a wind vane.
Another very enjoyable video. I have a technical question for you, is that a Rokna anchor you have? and if so what size is it? cheers, and keep up the good work
I love this! If ever a look said "Go f@ck yourself" that look at 2:58 was it! We have all seen it. And then the gentle caress of a child's head at 14:29 is just wonderful - the essence of love. we've all done that, too. Enjoy it while you can - the kids will bat your hand away soon enough. Great video
Pahahaha yes Laura loves looking after people but she doesn’t like being bossed around much!😛 So pleased that our family dynamic is accurately represented in our vlogs…we try really hard to keep it real and be natural - the trick is to forget there’s a camera in the first place! 👍❤️🙏

I enjoy your clips. But as a sailor I would avoid your boat like the plague. You fly a Union Jack instead of the red ensign which reveals sailing ignorance. I would suspect that extends to other matters. For God’s sake sort it out!
Never judge a book by it's cover - or in this case a boat by it's flag! There's a backstory to why we had no choice but to fly this particular version - we literally couldn't get a different one on the island where we lost our original (cue world pandemic/lockdown issues at the time) and in previous vlogs you will note the red ensign before it became tattered - it was that or nothing! And thankfully the hellenic coastguard were fine with it. What do you suggest we did differently? Hopefully if you watch the rest of our vlogs you will see that we are in fact mindful and diligent sailors....and that we eventually managed to change flags!

What better to lift Northern Ireland winter gloom than to watch Holly Blue and her crew!
Your days are numbered with that one bruv. She’s checked out.
Last time we checked she was still around 🤣

The groove around the perimeter of the flooring is most likely for
Expansion of the flooring. I would think you could use a Translucent
Is water based caulking to fill the gap

You also get salary means selling is your job?
We don’t get a salary for selling.
Just run some thin line around the grooves and then nothing will get down the gaps and if the line gets grotty then just replace it with new line
Great tip thanks! 👍

We don’t get a salary for selling.
Because the boat rocks, rolls and twists in the seas the decks must be expandable to accommodate, otherwise breakage.
