Love this. What I loved about this video the most was the part where you went into the hospital and was ultimately diagnosed with your issue and how seeing him for the first time in 6 weeks really changed you in that moment. That to me is love, a unbreakable bond. My advice is to keep real. We as viewers want that raw emotion. We know life on the boat won’t be all roses, if all we see is sunshine and roses we will know the channel is not authentic. With so many options and channels, I seek out people that are truly authentic. That means showing the life struggles as much as the good times. I don’t enjoy seeing people struggle, I enjoy the authenticity. The power behind that will propel you further than you can imagine. God bless from Tennessee (USA), and safe travels. I am a new subscriber.
We are glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for your feedback. I completely agree however it is not always easy to catch or film at times of strife but we are not afraid to show those times when we do👍 Have you seen the tv show “my new Greek life” on UK channel 5? We were also on that show and it wasn’t all roses on there either, to be honest I even cringed a bit watching it on TV for the first time 😬 there is more emotion coming up as the weather here is quite unpredictable at times and it’s not all plain sailing! 😉
I jumped into your journey recently and loved the first one i saw so decided to go back to the start .... i am so happy i did. Your first video resonates with me so much. Thank you ❤
Thank y'all so much, my wife and I have been looking at a Morgan 44, Our kids are older and we don't feel like it's in there best interest to pull them out of school. They both play Travel sports and High School sports. My wife is a Teacher. In 4 year's we're setting sail for our own journey. We love you story.. thank you
Georgia Airborne Thanks for your comment! The kids were a major part in our decision... We came to the conclusion they were old enough to swim well and cope with boat life but young enough to not be too affected by leaving school. They have the ultimate freedom now and one to one education but it’s hard to tick every box! Being a parent is tough, you always feel guilty no matter what you do! Our boys are currently having a game of football in the local park! It’s nice see them socialising! I hope your dream works out for you guys... watching others on RUclips doing it definitely helps it happen and is reassuring that it’s all worth it! 😉⛵️🦋
@@SailingHollyBlue that's great. I'm glad they're able to play with other kids and interaction with them. Hope y'all have a great journey and we both can't wait to watch more. Feel for you Rob...Sailing has ‘trained’ me to manage my stress levels really well which makes my symptoms much less prevalent. My triggers are extreme stress and environmental changes so changing the way I think has been really important, also exercise and sunshine has a big impact on how my days go - it also helps that I’m an online health coach so I know how to manage my nutrition too. Every time I overcome a fear I get stronger x Laura x

My gosh, stress is a killer, isn’t it? Most people who experience routine stress have no clue that many of their physical aches and pains are directly related. Most don’t realize what a panic attack is, and think they’re having a cardiac or digestive issue…but again, it’s stress!
Watched you guys on TV and so glad I saw this because it shows how tight a couple you are and that didn't really come across on TV. Loved the video but the music was to much for my personal taste. Looking forward to following you guys . Lots of love from Wales UK
Thankyou Amanda for your much-appreciated feedback! Yes we pride ourselves on being a hard working 'team' as well as teachers, parents and a loving couple - its a juggle - but its worth it! We hope that our vlogs will continue to represent this accurately and also give our emotional backstory. The first 2 episodes were more dramatic to support the story and beginning of our adventures....hence the music madness! - Ep 3 (released very soon!) is a more chilled vibe! x
@@SailingHollyBlue I'm sure it was just editing on TV . It's clear how close you all are. Really curious to know if you have taught the children how to swim as you live on the water. I think it's an incredible thing you guys have done and I can't wait to see your journey unfold. Lots of love from Wales UK 🧡
@@user-qi8su4mo3l Watch out in the vlogs for the boys swimming skills - Noah is nearly there but we tend to keep a buoyancy aid on him when we are in deeper waters but Josh is like a fish and swims to shore with me to do the shopping or when I go to cafes to work! His furthest is 1/2 a mile! xx
@@SailingHollyBlue oh I've been waiting for notifications for new vids then realised today I hadn't subscribed ! ( It's an age thing ). I watched last night's episode that I recorded and have to say your an inspiration to exercise like that when you have fibromyalgia. I know how ill it can make you but you look fantastic so keeping fit obviously does you good. I hope it inspires others into trying keep fit. The children have the best pool in the world to swim in . I've subscribed now so going to catch up on what you have posted. Love to you all from Wales
Amanda Willis if it wasn’t for my passion for health and fitness I’m quite sure my condition would be far worse and I only hope that the recent media exposure can give me the opportunity to help as many people as possible who are suffering with similar ailments as I know the triggers only too well and how to manage them now. A lot of it is mindset too - meditate and do yoga every day and have finally managed to get myself medication free too!! But we shall see what happens when the sailing season begins and the ‘unknown’ starts again...that’s usually what ‘stirs’ up my symptoms - however I do believe that every challenge makes us stronger xx
No problem at all... pick a good solid weather window and just go for it on the 10 degree line across biscay, wait in la Coruna for another good window as Fisterra can be hairy... I did it with just a recently past ICC at the time. Hence why I was cautious for that part of the trip... don’t under estimate the med, particularly the Aegean, it may not be tidal like the UK but the wind here packs a punch and does some crazy things between the mountainous islands... I would love to do that trip again! I will never forget it! You can’t beat the sailing here in the warm sun! It makes it all that much more enjoyable! 😊
100% agree…the root of most disease is stress…whether it’s physical or mental. We need to prioritise a healthy lifestyle and mindset to get the most out of life!
Clarify something for me. What do YOU mean by "sailing season"? You are living aboard your boat so don't you sail all year round? Looks like it's gonna be a different adventure with 2 boys. That's gonna be interesting. For example, most live aboards I'm following are couples. And then there's SV Delos with Sierra, Brian and Karen's baby girl, 10 months old now I think. And there's a couple other families I followed for a short time but they were on catamarans, which I'm considering but on a limited budget, not sure about the cats. Stay safe and may the winds be at your stern!
Enjoyed the first episode with back story plus of course a great boost from channel 5, but can’t help but feel that a multi hull would have been more stable and roomy. As an encouragement from other self taught sailors who are now doing this really well along with weekly uploads of high calibre content , if you haven’t already come across them, then have a look at the huge back catalogue of You Tube posts from Sailing La Vagabond.
Ivor from Cornwall, UK ....we love La Vaga too, followed them for years now. For us Holly Blue was love at first sight, she’s a beautiful boat that handles well, and we don’t feel it’s too small, we like cosy ♥️
karen Vaughan Hi Karen, no we are not Greek residents yet mainly for this reason, we are still currently Uk residents and we are aware of the issues in Greece and homeschooling... it is an issue we will need to face this year, luckily our home can move anywhere 😉
@@SailingHollyBlue Sailing Holly Blue Of course BREXIT will make it really hard for you now to spend any length of time anywhere, although I am not sure how much is regulated when you can come and go on a boat. In the meantime though, it does give the children some unique and valuable experiences of life that no school could replicate. Good luck to you.
karen Vaughan thankyou Karen - especially for the positive vibes regarding homeschooling - we hope they will see the world through open minded eyes and learn valuable social and cultural tools. Yes, things are rather unknown at the moment due to changes....but we remain optimistic for the future and there’s plenty more seas to sail if we have to ‘change tack’ let’s see where the wind blows ♥️

Hi we have a boat Bav 42 and we have a plan to sail from Uk to Greece 🇬🇷 , how do u find it ?
No problem at all... pick a good solid weather window and just go for it on the 10 degree line across biscay, wait in la Coruna for another good window as Fisterra can be hairy... I did it with just a recently past ICC at the time. Hence why I was cautious for that part of the trip... don’t under estimate the med, particularly the Aegean, it may not be tidal like the UK but the wind here packs a punch and does some crazy things between the mountainous islands... I would love to do that trip again! I will never forget it! You can’t beat the sailing here in the warm sun! It makes it all that much more enjoyable! 😊
Don’t worry about leaving 1/2 beer I left 1/2 cup of coffee and went back to bed last night.
Stress is a horrible thing. It can kill you if it goes on long enough.
Yep 👍 year round if ya don’t count periods of land visiting family ❤️
Enjoyed the first episode with back story plus of course a great boost from channel 5, but can’t help but feel that a multi hull would have been more stable and roomy. As an encouragement from other self taught sailors who are now doing this really well along with weekly uploads of high calibre content , if you haven’t already come across them, then have a look at the huge back catalogue of You Tube posts from Sailing La Vagabond.
Ivor from Cornwall, UK ....we love La Vaga too, followed them for years now. For us Holly Blue was love at first sight, she’s a beautiful boat that handles well, and we don’t feel it’s too small, we like cosy ♥️
just found yall .. never seen before ! Why are yall not sharing on soSAILize ( .net ) ??? Many sailing vloggers on there
Thanks!! We will defo check it out!! :-)
I saw u on tv
You sure did!! :-)
Are you legally Greek residents? If so, are you aware that it is illegal to home school children in Greece?
karen Vaughan Hi Karen, no we are not Greek residents yet mainly for this reason, we are still currently Uk residents and we are aware of the issues in Greece and homeschooling... it is an issue we will need to face this year, luckily our home can move anywhere 😉
The Cruising Jackson Rose crew has subscribed! So cool to follow you guys on your travels. We are in Ontario Canada with our cruising vlog doing much of the same. Learning on a 30 foot cruiser before making the full time leap. Please check us out as we explore Canada's great lakes and water ways. Cheers!
Good on you guys, great boat (we would say that 😉) and a lovely family. We've subbed to show our support, be good to have you join our channel too. We are doing the same route to Greece, just crossed the channel to Brest France.
It looks like a nice adventure . It doesn't look like they will live in Greece permanent.
