  • Rebuilding after Sandy’s onslaught was going to require a colossal effort. Given the sheer scope of the challenge, tremendous progress has been made. Beaches continue to be replenished, boardwalks have been reconstructed, and thousands of homes and businesses have been restored.
At Seaside Heights, the boardwalk has been rebuilt, amusement rides have been replaced, and businesses are once again open. A sense of normalcy has returned to places like Margate, Ocean City, and Little Egg Harbor. Towns like Ortley Beach, Sea Bright, Union Beach, and Tuckerton continue to face challenges. Working to rebuild their storm damaged properties and communities.
Residents of the Jersey Shore have made it clear. They are stronger than the storm. Committed to restoring their communities and neighborhoods, to the unique, charming beach towns they were before Sandy.
New Jersey’s crown jewel remains its coastline. Comprised of a five-mile-long sand spit, 24 miles of headland beach, and a 96-mile string of barrier islands. This rich diverse landscape of sand dunes, salt marshes, bays, inlets, and long stretches of white sand beach, has attracted visitors for centuries, while providing memories that will last forever.
For those that come here to stick their toes in the sand, its more than a summer vacation destination. Its a state of mind.

Great series. I watched all 25 parts, and plan to check out your other videos. I grew up in OC, NJ so I particularly liked that part. Ken Burns would be proud.
