@@jmgeinfobites I think it will be OK. I do not have it anymore (I have CK61 because I am learning to play organ - I use Hauptwerk with it). I think that it is definitely worth the price.
Does this have a USB port like the P125 did? The Yamaha/Kawai dealer I go to is soledout of the P125A so I'm hoping I get to try out one of these P225s soon🎹🎶🎹🎶
Hey Michael, thank you the review 🙏. May I ask a question ? I study in my school in a real acoustic piano (and practice at home with a keyboard, with no keyaction). Does yamaha p-225 feels like a real acoustic piano when playing ? I mean, are the keys heavy like a real piano ? (: .
Hi Nicolas, I do not think it does. I practice regularly on Yamaha C7 and after a few weeks I decided to return P-225. If one does not practice on an acoustic piano, GHC action is quite nice (and definitely very quiet). It has a problem with the higher pressure needed to play white keys close to a fulcrum and it just feels different than the acoustic piano action. I currently practice at home on a Roland digital piano with PHA-4 action that is a bit “noisy” but has a feel that is closer to the action of Yamaha C7. Michael Ps. I had digital pianos with different actions. Among them was PHA50, NWX, GHS and I also tested Yamaha GrandTouch-S. I actually like PHA-4 even though it is mechanically quite noisy.
It depends which acoustic piano you would like your digital piano sound like. If you like Kawai acoustic piano sound then you should try to get higher end digital pianos from Kawai CA line. I use piano VSTs and my digital pianos act as MIDI controllers. I like VSL Synchron and Garritan CFX. I also use Pianoteq.
For some numbers that illustrate the differences between GHS and GHC check my other videos ruclips.net/video/FOiZKeaP6KM/видео.htmlsi=qqkdTbK_0WKgUo7D and ruclips.net/video/YeAiswYD8yw/видео.htmlsi=gtxHRyO_ojgKopEI GHC is lighter and faster than GHS even though the pivot of GHC is shorter than GHS’s. GHC is definitely a quieter action. I like it more even though the feel of it is different from the action of Yamaha C7 grand piano that I also practice on. Playing on P-225 is easier than on C7! I often record first on P-225 before moving on on C7. Perhaps Roland’s PHA-4 or PHA50 (higher end) are closer to the feel of the acoustic piano but I do not like how noisy PHA-4 is (I had three digital pianos with this action). If you want to spend more, the action of P-525 is nice (NWX of P-515 was too heavy for me although I liked it - I sold P-515). I will keep P-225 because it is very portable and I like it for practice very much (more than all the digital piano actions I used or tested). It is not perfect but it works well for me in conjunction with C7. Michael
@@mfurman Thanks Michael for the detailed answer, appreciated! One more question, Is there any difference in the weight of black keys compared to white keys? This has been a hype concerning Casios PX-S3100 and 1100 as Casio had to do this way as the hammer mechanism is compact (shorter).
@@moens404 There is the difference between downweight of white and black keys in every digital piano I checked. I included some of these numbers in the description of the videos. Please have a look (search my channel). Michael
Great Pianissimo indeed..
Though wonder how this particular model would play with classical aggressive pieces?
Is it worth the price range?

Kawai es120 is worth checking out
What are your thoughts regarding the action of this one compared to the p125?
